  • Why put it all in one thread? More traffic due to collaborating interests.

  • When is the Final Fantasy XVI CE? Not announced. Granted, IF it does, you can bet I will devote an entire page to it.

I decided to grab a Regalla Edition on Amazon after seeing the statue. At least with Amazon I can apply gift cards up until release date.

That happened for me too, took me forever to find out what happened. Apparently it was the 5% cash back offer with the Amazon prime visa card that conflicted with adding a gift card to the order. If you change to a different card it will let you, at least that was the issue for me.

Yeah I have been doing it for years, still do. I use my laptop, click orders on the top right, find the order, then click "View or edit order" , at the top near payment it will say "Apply gift card balance". If I have no gift cards saved there is usually a space to enter a gc code there too.

Thanks for reminding me about that. I'd much rather have the option to widdle it down than to get the full 286 on my credit card at launch.

That is actually a pretty good idea, might have to try it. Hopefully Sony gets enough bad press from the 2 current issues (no free upgrade + No disc in the BIG CEs) that they enact some type of policy like MS did with Halo 5.

Alright... so it might be a cheap, low quality statue but god damn, that's a pretty complicated design. I feel like it's pretty high risk of arriving damaged/broken.

So the $250 Halo 5 Collector's Edition originally only came with a digital download code. It even came with a steelbook but no physical disc. (See picture)

After many complaints/feedback 343 eventually agreed to an exchange program where buyers would email them a picture of the sales receipt, the front and back of the code pamphlet, and the Xbox serial Number. 343/Microsoft would then priority ship them a game disc.

Oh wow, I missed all that. Still kind of annoying all the hoops people had to jump through.
 
It sucks but big collector's editions not having the game or coming with just a code makes so much sense. At least from a business standpoint. That way they can be completed, boxed and ready to ship to stores rather than being sent somewhere to wait for the game to go gold and discs to be pressed. Especially now with so many games being delayed at the last minute.

Best Buy seems to be the only retailer left with the Regalla edition in stock. Sold out at GameStop, Amazon, target and PS direct

At this point I'm convinced limited run CE's are just being bought up for resale or investments to be selling out this quickly. I'm fairly fatigued with Sony's non-stop stream of boiler plate games and have no real interest in Horizon sadly, especially since Elden Ring is going to firmly hold my attention for a while. If that game gets a CE, whoo boy here comes the real value train on those. . .

I think its half and half. Resellers are huge right now for everything, but that has also led to tons of people that have started "collecting" various things.

The Horizon games specifically are very weird. A $200 edition for a statue and like 2 other things, not even the physical game? Bizarre. The first one was nothing more than your run of the mill open world game propped up by nothing more than being a PS4 exclusive. But that's unfortunately what being a "collector" does to your head. Quality doesn't matter, as the high they get from spending the money, getting that steelbook or box in the mail, feeling it in their hands, and then putting it on the shelf or the closet to be forgotten about overshadows reasonability.

FOMO being a part of it as well I'm sure; enables resellers with ease. Anything Nintendo is a gold mine as long as it doesn't get printed into oblivion. Like Metroid Dread I'm lukewarm on even playing, but I definitely have those on order. This one will go nowhere aftermarket though.

HZD is a great game... Probably arguably one the best games on the system and for that generation.

With that said. Kinda want to cancel my PS5 version and get the PS4 one.

Doubt today statement would change their pricing scheme. Time to cancel the SE for PS5

Achievements were scanning in for Xbox One and Series X. The same disc has 2 different games with 2 different lists. I looks like the PS ones are sold separate. PS4 upgrades for free, so that copy is the only one that will get you 2 trophy lists if that matters to you.

Sorry to be daft, but what do you man 2 different games with 2 different lists? Also the reason I mentioned PS4 Is it seems that's the only version available to preorder at the moment

You pick if you want the Xbox One version or Series X version when you install it. It's not smart delivery and save files will not transfer unless they patch it in later.

Is there a setting then? Because on my X I never pick the version I want. It just offers me the download button. (With game pass). I just checked all my games that have both series X and One versions and they are all X. Maybe the X defaults to X versions?

Im just going off what the site says. I'm sure it'll take at least a week for my CE to show up. Not sure how digital works.

I've had that status for a couple of days now. I was concerned on how ordering this CE would go when it took almost a month to get a standard copy of scarlet nexus from them because they lost the shipment.
