yea i mean if i REALLY wanted it.. it would be cheaper to try to sell my reg. version to as close as possible to msrp and just buy the l.e

heck.. using live cash back I can pickup a new l.e off ebay for probably less than i payed for the regular edition. (im thinking about it now)

Also, I can almost guarantee those Gold Lancer codes will become DLC in a few weeks (I'm guessing $2.50). Same with the Flashback Map Pack (I expect that one to be $20).

Didn't you have to pre-order the LE to get it?

Pre-orders were only for the Gold Hammerburst. Every L.E. has the Gold Lancer.
 
I think I've played a good number of the new maps to declare they're not as good as the old ones. The ones I do like are River and Ruins. The maps with the whacky elements, are, well, whacky. Like Security and Avalanche, those two maps could be good if they took out the security and avalanche.. haha.
 
I think Hail is the worst offender in terms of bad elements. Avalanche actually does something cool (it allows you to get to that one suicidal weapon the middle of the map). Day One also seems to be a big fuck you with the location of those Ammo packs.

Yes, the issue was buying a used copy as the code likely wouldn't be included or would already have been used as the whole point was to encourage people to buy a new copy of the game.

Day One is a big mistake if you ask me. It's a GREAT map, but the weapon placement sucks major balls. One team constantly spawns by the Hammer/Torque Bow and the other team constantly spawns by the Mortar/Sniper Rifle. Kind of annoying if you ask me...

There were some packaging screw ups. Some copies didn't come with the codes.
 
I think I know why people are mad at Mactchmaking. I've been sitting here for 5 minutes "searching for an opposing team of similar skill".

Ok what the hell, finally got the game and ran through the basics to get back to snuff. Tried to start a single player campagin but it willn't let me select my difficulty!? I click A on Normal, nothing, try Casual, thinking maybe Normal isn't unlocked, nope no matter what difficulty I try I can't continue? What is going on here? Read the manuel, nothing there I mean you just hit A on the difficulty right?! >< Disc problem or am I a total retard?
 
Sounds like a glitch or bad disc. You should be able to load up Casual, Normal or Hardcore right from the get go. Only Insane has to be unlocked by beating the game once on any difficulty.

Same thing happened to me. I just went back to the dashboard and put the game in again. Success.

Yea I tried both of those already, first thing I did was did the training grounds(been a while lol), but thanks it makes me feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one. It seems I can't even host a co-op campaign either.

Ok so I called Amazon and talked to some Indian dude who I couldn't understand. After telling him what's up and confirming that I bought the Gears 2 LE game for 75 bucks he told me they'd send me a replacement but oh the item is out of stock. LOL NO shit dude, it's called LE for a reason so I got to the point where I was like ok let me talk to your manager. 15 minutes on hold and I finally got the manager who after 8 minutes of arguing/conversatoin lol I got him to give me free 2 day shipping and as soon as the item gets in they'll ship it to me. Seriously all I need is the game disc as I tried the bonus features disc and it worked no problem but the manager said they couldn't send me a different product, it has to be the same thing. Man, can you believe this crap waiting till now to finally get the game and then it doesn't work 100% (seems I can do local multiplayer with bots/online multiplayer but my internet connection isn't good enough for live). At least I haggled two day free shipping out of the deal though.;)

Ah I can't believe I have to wait looonger.><

Quick question if anyone here could answer for me.
I know that they include the 5 flashback maps code for new copies of the game.
But is it only for the first released circulation of copies or will lets say a couple months from now i buy a new copy off amazon, will the codes still be included?

I was hoping to buy gow2 near release but i don't think i can afford it until around Christmas so i'm wondering will i still get the maps.

no all new copies will have it.
 
Anyone else never get matched up against weaker players rank wise? Whenever I rank up I will rarely end up playing against a team with more then 1 person with a lower rank then me. Today I hit the 3 yellow bars and my party had nothing but 1 bar players, we faced a team with diamonds and other ranks at least 1 higher then mine. That happen 3 games in a row basically, I have no problem as I love the competition but my team struggles because they arent as good/dont know the maps yet.
 
any one want to do insane co-op? i will be on later on tonight around 10 cst. this is a great game. any one else thinks that there might be a GoW 3? the way it ended makes me think the door is open for one more
 
The multiplayer is very frustrating. If you knock a guy down with a smoke gernade why can't you chainsaw him....why cant a full f*ckin clip take a guy down....Honestly
 
A full clip does take anyone down your obviously missing, when you knock them down go stand behind them and rev your saw so when he gets up he gets hit with it.
 
I've been looking for some peoples to play gow2 with that aren't going to yell all kinds of obscenities in my ear all night. Anyone interested? I'm really looking for co-op campaign over the next few nights (tonight included..) saturn iii is my gamertag
 
Does anyone else's Gold Lancer not fuckin' default like you tell it to? It keeps reverting my default weapon back to the regular Lancer. I always forget and end up not using it.

Both my gold weapons seem to do this. My characters stay, but everytime I restart my 360 the weapons go back to the ugly normal skins.

God I love the music in this game. Blasting it right now...

Whoever Epic gets to do their scores is a fucking genius. I've been blown away by the soundtrack in just about every game Epic has ever produced.

Where do I find those classic maps? I got my copy of the game via GameFly so if it was a download token in the box I guess I am SOL. I get game invites but it says I dont have the content the other guys do so I cant join.


I am among those looking for some co-op on insane and some horde action.
 
Well not being able to do single player and my connection isnt good enough for multiplayer at least they have local multiplayer. I'm so glad for bots and had a blast going through the new maps.

When you have the retail version it comes with a voucher card with the code on it. You won't be able to access those maps with a used game.

Gears 1, I believe, was in house. Gears 2 is a movie composer. The same guy that did Transformers soundtrack.
