Official Goozex Thread - Goozex is Hiring!
What happened in that "buyer pay shipping" thread?
It got a huge number of responses mostly blasting management for having such a dumb idea. Staff stopped responding quickly, never said whether they were dropping the idea or still considering it. Staff rational was that it might encourage new users to start sending games if they didn't have to pay anything, and it would force a tracking number....most users believed it was goozex wanting to increase their revenue form the % of the goozex labels they keep.

Of course before that was the "let games trade for cash or points" thread that got a similar bad reaction from users expecting that would make the points worthless. I think them going ahead with putting the amazon links with prices on every listing is probably worse though.

Starting those threads has put the fear into everyone that we might wake up someday and see they have radically changed the operation of the site, clearly they've seriously considered it.

Im starting to wonder how they ever got the site to where it is with how inept they've come across over the past year

They've come off as completely inept. I don't understand how disputes can take a month, someone bitch to a mod, and then magically it's taken care of.

I'm never keeping a balance like I used to. Right now, I'm at 3000 and I'm still looking for things to activate so I can get it down to no more than 1500.

Update. The trader replied to me saying this:

Hi I am really sorry about the misunderstanding. I don't have a NTSC copy, but I just ordered one (used) that will be delivered to you within 3-10 business days. I don't know how long you have left to give feedback, but can you please wait until you receive the right copy in the mail.

Now as of today there is 11 days left to leave feedback. Should I reply back saying I do not want the US copy he ordered or should I take the risk of waiting for a used game that I don't even know the condition of (since I requested Tekken 3 complete).

Oh okay, I didn't realize it was a mod/admin started thread. Yeah, that is stupid.

If there are 11 days left, you can wait to leave a negative near the end (1-2 days before it closes). If you leave a negative, keep in mind that the seller "ordered" a copy for you. The trade will be disputed and eventually escalated to goozex which will just delay the trade of the game for 14 days or more.

Might as well just wait out the 11 days. And yea, it's going to suck if the game is incomplete. That's neutral at best. =/

The latest point changes came through a little while ago. Sending off a couple games that went up a little. Viva Pinata went from 100 to 150, which makes me feel better about sending it off. I don't like to waste my time on 100 point games much.
That's a big fat negative. Imports are only allowed to be traded on Goozex if there wasn't a US release. Obviously, Tekken 3 was released in America.

You could try to work something out where the seller initiates a cancel after you leave negative feedback but make sure he/she initiates the cancel AND somehow reimburses you for return shipping.
that rule must changed.. i got around 10 overseas games (mostly united kingdom) and i was told there was nothing wrong with the game and never got my points back

You got screwed. Imports have never been allowed to be traded unless there wasn't a NTSC version. I've traded the PS2 version of the Last Blade and Mark of the Wolves only because they were never released in America.

Are you sure you requested games that were released here?

Spanky, leave a negative if you don't receive it with two days to spare. Let the seller know you'll switch to positive as soon as you receive it.

I've never really had a problem receiving a game off goozex (they came in good condition too), but one time I did have a problem when I sent a game. Guy tried to do a "never got it" but I backed up my side with tracking info.

Well the trader did send me a confirmation number for the Tekken 3 he purchased for me and it's supposed to be here today. I'll leave him a positive if it comes as a full package how I requested it. I'll pass it off as a mistake which is no problem. I now have a new problem though:bomb: Shadow of the Colossus is being shipped to me. I requested it as a full package and in the message window for when the game was shipped the trader added, "It's missing the manual, I think Sony stopped putting game manuals in this game a while ago.":dunce::evil: Seriously I requested it "Full Package" and the trader accepts his game as full package but doesn't go through with it. Neutral feedback for him. Other then that I do enjoy the website.

This happens all the time. People have the case + disc and send it as full package saying that there was no option for case + disc. I'm not sure why they think it would qualify for full package but it happens way too often. There were talks about adding a disc + case option but I don't know if Goozex actually has any plans to do so. I sure wish they would so I could stop getting games with no manual and then a "Why'd you leave me neutral?" response...

Okay, so I got Mafia II PC version today for my husband. The activation code (the disc-based game apparently goes through Steam) has already been used and the game is thus unable to be played. Can I leave negative feedback and get my points refunded? After all, although I have a game, I can't use it.

I'd contact an admin or a mod or something.

They're not allowed to do it if it's key has been redeemed, they're just ripping you off.

Contact the guy first and tell him, for all we know he didn't know Steam was a one-time use thing. See if you guys can arrange some kind of compensation, if he says tough luck, THEN call out the big guns.
just got Lunar dragon Song and had no problems.
Still love Goozex
I love goozex as well I've just had a couple problems recently but other then that I'm loving all the games I'm getting in the mail:D Also my US version of Tekken 3 came in today so thats all sorted out. I also received Tony Hawks Pro Skate 2&3 to complete my collection of Hawks games(up to Underground 2)

You got Lunar Dragon Song? No, there's definitely a problem.

I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I sold a few games to get enough points for a game that's coming out tonight but I accidentally kept one of my old requests and it went through a few minutes - terrible timing. Now, I don't have enough points. Is there a way to quickly cancel the trade?

You can send a cancellation request but the buyer is under no obligation to accept it. I'd do it as soon as possible. There's nothing worse than having a buyer send the request after you've already paid for shipping and/or packaged the game.
I don't even bother jumping on right away anymore. Just isn't worth the aggravation.
I honestly never even bother to get new releases on Goozex. It's not worth staying up for me and I just get older games instead that I missed out on. It's been great for me that way (other than the occasional garbage someone sends that looks like it was carried around in a bag of rocks).
I don't even bother jumping on right away anymore. Just isn't worth the aggravation.
I don't mind. I can always get new releases within a month or so of release, since I do stay up until 1 EST. Although I don't always request stuff soon, I enjoy knowing that when I do decide to activate my request, I'll be first in line.

The thing is, getting new release games a month within the release will still cost 1000 pts, whereas IRL you can get them for like $35-$40. To each their own I suppose.

Yesterday I posted about the Goozex person who sent me Mafia II, the PC version. It goes through Steam, and the Steam activation code had already been used. I left a negative on Goozex, and the seller posted a response asking this:

"I apologize for this. If you care to send it back to me I can pay you back for the shipping and we can contact goozex for getting your token and points back."

Is this really a viable method? How would this be worked out through the Goozex system? I rather feel like letting Goozex handle it and simply refund me the points.

I'm the same way. I'd rather get four 250 point games instead of one 1000 point game. The exception was Final Fantasy XIII and I'm on the fence with NCAA 11.

In my experience, Goozex was very helpful in sorting these things out if both parties agree. Mind you, this was a year or so ago before they got 'big' so I'm not sure how responsive they are now.

you can cancel the trade but that only works before you leave negative feedback.

I had a problem when I sent the wrong version of Civ Rev and I paid to have it shipped back and cancelled the trade and it all worked out. But damn me cause I just sent the wrong version again. God darnnit..

Also just sent in 3 things and now have 1150 points.

I also got in line for 2 games.
7- for Final Fantasy: the 4 heroes of light

Enslaved- 53 complete but 2 disc only

So what are some good Star Wars games I could add to my que? Are the old SNES Super Star Wars series any good? Anything aside from KOTOR from last gen?

Jedi Knight I for PC
Jedi Outcast for PC
Jedi Academy for PC/Xbox/GC

Star Wars Shadows of the empire n64

I can think of a few more

OK, it seems I may have a problem. I recently mailed out a DVD set via USPS first class w/DC, you know the usual. A few days after I had sent the package I decided to check the track & confirm page to see where it is in transit. To my surprise the status is showing up as "Delivery status not updated". It was the first time I've come across anything like that so I just assumed it was because the system hasn't updated yet, so I gave it another day. Well a day has come and gone and the status hasn't changed. I PM'd the buyer asking if he had received it yet, he replied and said he didn't.

Now at this point I'm a little worried and I don't know what to do. I'm afraid it may have been lost in the mail or perhaps the mailman mailed it to the wrong address. The only thing I can think of is to tell the buyer to look around and maybe perhaps ask his neighbors if they had accidentally received any of his packages. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Will Goozex protect me even though the status is showing as "Delivery status not updated"? Any help is appreciated.

For reference I mailed it on Oct 1st > Out for delivery Oct 4th > Delivery status not updated Oct 5th.

I got advice from the Goozex forums. Basically, I told the guy to send me a trade cancellation. I accepted, and my points and token were immediately refunded. He Paypaled me $3 to send the game back to him.

All is well. Goozex rocks! :D

You'll find that the USPS does not update daily. Just relax, you have DC. The game could have already been delivered and the buyer is just a bit busy to leave feedback.

That's what I'm banking on. However it's already been 2 days since it should have been delivered and still no word from the buyer nor did the status changed. Do you happen to know if you're still under Goozex protection even with the delivery status being the way that it is? Anyways, I'll wait until later tonight to message the buyer again and see if he's received it on his end.

I've had that happen before as a buyer. A game's status went to out for delivery on like a Tuesday and wasn't delivered at my house until Friday. USPS is just weird/slow sometimes.

@Interstella 5555, basically what SEH wrote. Just wait it out. But yea, you are protected because the DC shows you have dropped it off at the post office as intended and it is out for delivery. The package is now out of your hands and is up to the post office to actually do their job.

I have 49 active request and 1150 points and haven't got a new game in like 2 weeks.

Riviera: The Promised Land for GBA got here awhile ago and it was complete with box and manual.
Nice touch. Onl asked for cart only.

I wish more people would take the 100 point DS games of the hold and trade them please.
tempted to get WarioWare DIY for 500 cart only.

I have Oracle of Seasons and Dawn of Sorrow on the way. I have 450 pts but am out of tokens now. I don't know if i want to buy tokens just yet in case they do another free trade period.
Dangit, I forgot to request Lords of Shadow sooner! I'm 250 right now, this sucks.
Aw, that sucks. I keep stuff in my watch list. If it's a high-profile title, I'll typically stay up until the midnight change, as I don't like ending up so far down the list. I think I ended up about 40th in line that night, as Goozex got really bogged down that night. Also, I requested Enslaved first, as I want that title more.
I wish more people would take the 100 point DS games of the hold and trade them please.
Eh, I don't like trading games in for 100 points. When I spend pretty much $2 on shipping, it really brings down the value for me. I have a local store I've just started trading games at. I'd rather give a 100 point game to them and put a little more money towards another DS game.

But usually, I put the game on my tradelist on CAG, until the next time I feel like trading at the local store.

When have they had a free trading period on games? I know they had one for movies a while back...

I'm matched up to trade Truth or Lies for the 360 to another user. The game requires a USB Mic to play, but there was no retail version sold that included a mic, that I can find. Is a mic required to be sent in a trade for this to be considered "full package" by Goozex rules?

FYI, I received this game via goozex without a mic, but I didn't expect one. I left positive feedback. I just want to make sure I'm not opening myself up to get a negative that I don't deserve if I don't send a mic.
