So I'm a little frustrated with goozex, i'm new to it so i might be a newb just not understanding the system. ok so here is what has happened, i put my mass effect 2 as an offer about 4 weeks ago. at that point it was 1000 points. at first i was about 86 in line, so i knew it would take a long time. but after a week i had moved up to 32, so i was feeling pretty good, i then purchased some trade tokens. over that last three weeks i have moved to 19, down to 13, then back up to 18, then to 15. and the price has decreased to 950 points. i'm guessing what's happening is that a bunch of other guys who were on long before i was, put the offer on hold and they are slowly activating they offer. is this correct? i noticed there has been some complaints in the goozex forums about the hold system. as a newb, the on hold system strikes me a totally unfair, but it seems that the goozex community likes this system. can someone explain how this is good? also does it make sense that i just add my entire library, or even prospective game purchases, to my on hold offers and then just forget about them until i want to move them? is that what most people are doing?
Yea if your offer/request is 'on hold' you still keep your place in line if you activate your offer so that is why you might see your place move both down and up as people activate/deactivate their request/offer or if trades of the item occur.
Personally I add every game I'm interested in when it releases 'on hold' to get in the queue. When I decide I want it for the price then I activate it. I usually do the same with the games I offer. That is the best way to use the site.
or maybe you trash it far too much? I think the site works well, I'm happy with it. You aren't, and that's ok, but it's not as doom and gloom as some of you make it out to be.
Yea, the same 2 or 3 people are constantly posting in here trashing Goozex and putting forth their conspiracy theories that the site is going under, etc. It is fine to have that opinion, but I'd say the people that have been happy with Goozex far outweighs the ones who have had negative experiences with the site. Personally, I have always been able to get into the queue for new release games and get them in a reasonable time frame and for a fair point value. Even better that with the games I have traded on there from clearance pickups I probably pay only around $20-$30 out of pocket for 1000 points, usually less. I have been satisfied with the site, and when I did run into a problem recently they were quick to fix it. I would agree that if you are looking for help with the service that this thread is not the right place to come for help especially with the amount of trolling going on. I'd suggest sending the official Goozex rep on CAG a PM. Here is the
LINK. He has helped me out in the past when I have had questions about the site.
