Official Goozex Thread - Goozex is Hiring!

I go from trying to get rid of points so I can be done with Goozex, to having 2000 again in two days. There's just something that's too tempting about trading off games for 1000 points.

Anyways, got Burnout yesterday. The disc had two pretty visible scratches on it. I've played for about two and a half hours though and it doesn't seem to be having any issues, so I went ahead and left positive. My luck though the game wont want to play the next time I boot it up.
Well, I did get Peek-A-Boo Poker for 200 points!
You are lucky, sir. Congratulations.

This should be proof to anyone that Goozex is a fantastic site. Peek-A-Boo Poker is worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $200 and he just got it for $10 or less. That's awesome.

Yeah, try $500, that's my high offer right now. :)

That's crazy

Just got my copy of Zelda: Phanton Hourglass today complete for 250 points.
Looks good. Also sent of some stuff for 750 points.
Scary Movie Blu Ray- 250
Rollercoaster Tycoon- 100
Civ Rev 360- 400

Still waiting for this guy to send me Super Collaspe 2.
Was supposed to send on Friday and still hasn't sent it.
It's only 100 points but my BF loves this game.

Another question.
If i request a full package game like Spectrobes: Limited Edition or Pokemon HeartGold do they have to include the larger box.
I like those boxes as they look cool on my shelf. Just want to know if they are consider Full Package without them?
Any idea why Mafia II CE isn't available to request yet? It's past 1est...
I just requested it, no problems here.

So irritated right now. I requested MAG yesterday for 800 points. The guy has three hours left to accept. If that were it, I wouldn't care as I'd just try a different seller, however, I checked this morning, MAG is now up to 850 points. So lame.

Put it back on hold if the seller doesn't confirm it. Wait for it to drop again, then activate it.

Yeah, I know. Just bothers me that I put off requesting it, then when I do, the guy doesn't accept and if I want to try and get it again, I need to spend an extra 50 points now.

Also, I'm pretty sure the only reason it went up 50 points is because I requested it. That game has been available for a long ass time just sitting at 800 points with no takers.

I realized after submitting a few games that Goozex isn't at all appropriate for the type of trading I want to do, and now I'm mulling the best way to clear out my 1,100 points so the money I spent on games to get them doesn't go to waste. Does anyone have any suggestions? Here are a couple things I've considered:

-Accepting disc-only trades and spending a few bucks to buy the case and manual separately (does anyone know a good resource for this?)

-Finding games or movies I can Gazelle or Amazon trade for a few bucks (although I doubt any items with low points and high trade values are available)

Any advice would be appreciated. After waiting several months without receiving anything, I'm eager to wash my hands of the whole thing.

That happens to me a lot, too. I've been activating and holding GRAW 2 for like 6 months. That 50 points is a big deal!:D

I love when my games drop 50 points.
Within a span of 2 weeks Enchanted Arms for the 360 has uped and dropped points.
I was happy to see both Mass Effects drop in points.
Last week a complete one was up and i just missed scoring it.

Is there some place on the Goozex site where I can contact some sort of customer support? I traded Madden 11 about a week ago, and at the time it didnt have the bonus points thing. Now, it says if you trade it within the first 30 days of release you get bonus points.

So, I thought that if you don't accept a trade offer within the time limit they give you, it kicks the seller to the back of the line? I got paired up with the same guy for MAG again.

EDIT

Surprise, surprise...didn't accept again. I swear if I get paired with him for a third time.

You mean because some idiot traded it not knowing it's value?

I guess we can claim everything is fantastic since the world has tons of idiots that don't know the value of some items.

GameStop is fantastic since they priced a game for $! AWESOME! That should top all the hate from GameStop, right?

That's not exactly what my point was. If you wait around and don't shrug the site off, you will get something good eventually.

Don't you know. The site has been collapsing everyday for the past year.

That's a good motto... send away a brand new release and get 1000 points. Wait 6 months and get a 'brand new release' that was new 6 months ago for 900 points. Woo hoo! Who cares if that title is now $20-$30 new at every site, it's a good deal!

Or go to GameStop and get $30-$40 store credit for that 'brand new release', hold on to the credit for 6 months, get the 900 points game for $20-$30 and have $10-$20 extra left over. And not pay $2-3 to ship game. And $1 for envelope.

Some good deals are likely to be had at Goozex. Just like at GameStop. Best Buy. And any other site 'hated' by CAGers.

What are you smoking? No GameStop gives more than $30 for any game. Most just give $25 and only $20 shortly after release.

If you make their trade-in deals work for you, you can easily get $30+ on newer trades.

I use Goozex mainly for cheap 360/DS games.
100 and 200 points games are my fav.
Plus when I find games/movies at garage sales I can flip them without selling them.
I find Goozex way easier than Amazon/eBay. Only cost like $3 to get a game.
I make it work for me.

Matched with some guy two times in a row for MAG, both times he doesn't accept in the allotted time. I then get matched with someone else who after about three hours, rejects the trade. Now this morning, I check the site and I'm matched back up with the initial guy who apparently never signs into Goozex and never checks his email.

Still waiting for my copy of Contact that the guy shipped yet when he was supposed to on August 24th. Cost me 200 points and I want my game.

First time I've had this problem. * more days till it times out and I leave Neg Feedback.
Sent him emails too.

If they didn't leave a tracking number and confirmed shipped like right away, they're likely still sitting on it. I get people like that all the time. They confirm shipped instantly to get their points, then they take like a week to send it. Confirm date will be like the 18th but the postage will say the 25th or some garbage like that.

They haven't even confirmed shipped yet, and I have 8 days left.
But I did get my copy of Phantasy Star Collection today for 150 pts in ok shape.
Must have sticker on the back.
But nothing a lil rubbing alcohol couldn't fix.

I heard it was good. It's the most scientifically accurate film as far as movies go, as mentioned by Neil Degrasse Tyson.
how was contact? I've always been curious to try it, but never did
I think he was referring to the DS game, Contact, by I believe Atlus.
Thanks for the input though, I never did see the movie. Jodi Foster, right?

Oops, yeah I thought he was referring to the movie. Correct, Jodi Foster is in it.

Have had my first problem as a "sender" in a trade on Goozex and looking for a little advice on the issue.
I got a copy of "Soul Caliber 4" as a bonus from a fellow CAG in a trade I made a few weeks ago and since I have no interest in fighting games I put it up on Goozex and got an instant trade for it for 300 points. Now the game was not still shinkedwrapped but both the street date and the official sercurity seal were both still intact. Now I sliced them opened only 10 seconds before I put the game in the envelope to send out, just to check if the disc was in there, and never even removed the disc from the case. Now the Goozex user I sent it out has had the game for a couple of days and he just messaged me to tell me the game wont play on his system. I find it hard to believe that the game is damaged and I think he played it for a few days and now wants his points back. Now I know usually I would just let him keep the game and give back the 300 points but is there anyway I can have him send the game back to me first before any feedback is left? He has already told me he is going to leave me a negative unless I can do something about the issue.

Thanks,
Anthony

You can request to cancel the trade and give him money for postage (via PayPal or something) to send the game back. That way you'd avoid the negative feedback but you'd be out both your shipping and the return shipping.

Your other option is to dispute the negative feedback when it comes in and if it can't be worked out Goozex may request him to send the game in to them (he'll pay to send it) and they'll inspect it and decide what the feedback should be.

You should check on the Goozex forums as well for what some more experienced users think.

I'm finally getting Soul Silver with the pokewalker after having to cancel like 5 trades because they didn't have the pokewalker. The guy said it needs a new battery but I can deal with that. He also promised to ship on Tuesday. I'm pretty happy.

sweet deal man, hope you enjoy pokemon

Still no Contact DS. Left negative feedback for not getting it and waiting for it to resolve.

I saw that Puzzle de Harvest Moon was Available for 100 cart only. I also wanted to play a Harvest Moon game. Requested it and then a day later I get matched with Rune Factory 2 for 200 points and they already sent it out. Funny how those things happen.

So, I had DJ Hero listed as disc only. It gets requested today, and before anything, the dude PM's me threatening to leave me negative if I don't send the turntable with the game. I denied the request because the guy came off as an asshole anyways, however, would he have been able to leave me negative for that? I mean, disc only is, well...disc only.

You would have been stuck with a negative.

It's deemed unplayable without the turntable and is required for disc only, disc/manual, and full package.

Guess he did you a favor in coming off as a dick.

I hope Goozex has another token sale soon. I don't need points, just half-price tokens.

Also, it's strange that there wasn't a point drop e-mail today.

Be careful with this though. I had a smiliar experience on Ebay a few years ago. I had sold Tales of Destiny (PS1) and the guy gets it (confirmed shipping) and has it for almost a month then disputes the trade on Paypal and says it doesn't work.

I demand he ship back the game, and it had been sawed in half (you could see the knife marks where he tried different spots). Paypal then tells me the game was unplayable and pulled the money out of my account.

So even if Goozex steps in, he could damage the game and you'd be up the river.

It's pretty obvious from normal game play scratches and deliberate scratches and gouges on a disc. Goozex can tell the difference.

If one wants to take the extra precaution, taking pictures of the discs prior to shipping can help with these situations as well.

I have nearly 1500 points and nothing in my 2 page list of holds is avaliable. I'm first in line for a few things but who's ever going to trade obscure things like Chaos Wars, Luminous Arc or Mazes of Fate?

What some people over at goozex does to avoid something like this from happening is they take a couple of pictures before and after packaging, especially the disc with a time stamp. In some extreme cases they even a shoot little video of it. It may seem like a hassle but it's definitely proof that you've sent the game complete and in shape.

Got my copy of Rune Factory 2 and Puzzle de Harvest Moon. Great conditions.
Never got Contact and had to leave negative feedback.

Next is Mass Effect for 200 points.
And I only have 50 points left. Need to send in some games.
