[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

I must have waited too long or something. It was a complete bust driving 30 miles away for the two closest kmarts. No Contact, Meteos, Halo controllers, PS3 Memory card adapter, LOTR: ME2, or anything else. >_<

They've completely changed their layout though, shifting the display case to the opposite side of the electronics department. All the games that were clearance were put on a huge shelf too.

On the games that are loose on the floor, does KMart have scanners in different spots like Target and TRU where you can scan the price yourself, or do I have to get an employee to scan the item to see if it's marked correctly?

Most do, but some don't.
 
I checked a bunch of games again last night at a Kmart that's further away from me. I ended up picking up Legend Of Kay for PS2 for $3.

It was a $14.99 re-stickered front lane title with the different UPC starting out with 696.

I also checked Marvel Ultimate Alliance for the original XBox and it came up $4.97.

They also had a One Piece game, called Pirate's Carnival or something, it was also a re-stickered game and came up $3 as well. I didn't pick it up though.

I checked at least 2 Kmarts and a further away Target last night. Aside from Legend Of Kay, I found nothing of interest. Although, I DID see 2 copies of Just Cause for the PS2 at the second Kmart.

But, as we know it's nigh impossible to find someone for a PC at a Kmart.
 
I don't have a Xbox 360 system yet. How useful is the 64MB memory card since most system already has a HDD? Just trying to see if I should find and pick a couple up...

I'll tell you this much - I have an Xbox 360 and I didn't even bother looking for them. I suppose as a game save backup if your hard drive fails they might be useful. But you are way more likely to have the system fail rather than the HD. Also, perhaps they are useful for bringing saves to a friend's house - but I have no need for that and no idea if/how it works.

like io said it isn't really that useful unless you intend on playing at other people's houses...

Also depending on your gamerscore your profile increases in size. I have ~62k gamerscore and my profile is about 20MB which is 1/3 of the memory card's size.

The only other use I get out of the memory card is when I go to game conventions / special promos, they sometimes have "special" gamer pics they give away if you bring a memory card... But lately they stopped doing this and started to just give away Redemption Codes so people don't even need to bring memory cards anymore...
 
Yeah, I bought my memory card a couple of years ago when Wal-Mart and EB Games stores had those kiosks where you could plug your card in and download a free gamer pic or theme. Since those have vanished, so did the usefulness of my memory card.
 
Yeah, the only real use of a memory card is to be able to take your profile with you. Especially since the alternative (recovering your gamertag on a another 360) takes forever.
 
HOLY!!!

Ok. So I went to Kmart and asked an employee if I could get help at electronics. I waited 10 minutes and NOTHING. I was a bit pissed. So I went to customer service desk and I was about to get after them, but there was this 50+ old guy who was apprarently getting his cashier stuff ready to go to electronics. He told me that he had noticed me when I walked in the door.

He was clocking in at 9AM. I must have arrived at 8:50. I couldn't have gotten upset since I knew before hand in this forum about the Sears buyout. I then asked him about it and he confirmed it and how they basically don't want to hire more people even though they are short handed. So we arrived at electronice. He got the cash machine up and running and he proceeded to help me with a couple items I had told him about.

I even told him about the sweet deals you all have been getting at your Kmart and he told me that a lot of the items at Kmart have been marked down but with the few employees they have, they can't keep up. So he scanned the 2 items and LO & BEHOLD!!! I got this:

Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote: $5
Xbox LIVE 3-month Starter Gold Pack: $7

That was awesome!!! They had 2 more remotes I could have bought but I thought what for. I could sell them at Ebay, but too much of a hassel. The Starter Gold pack was the only one left and nabbed the son of a gun. AWESOME!!!

I also went to Target and nab two 1600MSP for $15.

Today has got to be the best gaming deal ever for me. I probably will go back some day later and get some more stuff at my Kmart. I just hate how everything is all piled up behind a glass. Still, I can't complain with what my Kmart has. Could have gotten Bullet Witch but perhaps later. SHAME there were no Cams in sights.
 
Saw bullet witch for $7 and I have got bad news. They threw away the Xbox, PS2, Gamecube Kiosk. I had been watching it for months and have been asking the manager if I could have it or donate money to their charity for it (I did that at wal-mart for a Batman and Robin display in 1997). The manager said "I threw it out a few days ago and I couldn't find your number". :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: I asked a kid in the electronics section and he said they through it out with all 3 systems and the Tvs in it. Of course I took a lap around the back of the building to see if they just set it out there, but they have a trash compactor.

Things like that show the awesomeness of Kmart, checked my kmart today didn't find anything new....cept for the ps1 multitaps FINALLY hitting clearance, i mean it only took them what 10 years?

I remember going to the Kmarts around here that closed a couple of years ago due to their restructuring and bugging the crap outta them about the PS2/Xbox kiosks. They kept telling me that the kiosks 'had to be shipped back to Sony and MS' and I never made it to the final day of business sale.

If I had, I may have found the kiosks marked with a pricetag, like I did with the kiosks at the TRU I stopped at in Springfield, PA when they were closing.

Of course, $150 for a kiosk, even though it came with the ENTIRE stand alone kiosk thing, just wasn't worth it for me. I found the same 'deal' when I went to a Sam Goody closing. I had no use for the shelving/enclosure they kept the PS2 in and the tv that came with it was probably on 16 hours a day or more for YEARS.

Hell, I didn't even realize until just now that many of my local Kmarts have completely eliminated their kiosks in recent months. I guess with the shifting of electronics and the game cases from one wall to another in electronics, they just did away with them.
 
Ya know, one of those stand alone things ya see in the stores that demonstrates a PS3, Wii or 360(and in some Gamestops, a Windows PC).

The ones where they show ya the system running. It's basically a fancier name for a test system.

One thing I never realized though, is that the PS3 that's inside the enclosed plastic dome up top on display is a cardboard fake. I got a really close up look at the thing in a Circuit City store and realized it was cardboard.

The real PS3 for the kiosks is down inside the metal base of the thing.

I found Tales of Phantasia for the GBA at my Kmart for $9.97. I believe that's the same price it is at Sears. Not sure it was local to only my Kmart, but it doesn't get much cheaper than that. Also picked up MLB Power Pros for the Wii for $15.

I picked up a couple Persona 3 with the artbook at a far away kmart because I thought they were hard to find. I might return one of them. I also picked up FES for 29.99 (will be returning it). They also had metal gear subsistance for 29.99...I probably should have picked up that one too.
 
Picked up MLB Power Pros (PS2) for $5.00. Also the PS2 to PS3 memory card adapter for $3.50.

Not much else at mine (Greensboro, NC). Looked like it had been picked over pretty good.
 
I'm planning on picking up a Xbox 360 arcade with GTA 4 tomorrow so I can get the $50 gift card, but Im kinda apprehensive because I don't know if I would be able to find a 20gb HDD for cheap at K-mart or any ware else but I think I might take the risk cause im strapped for cash.

I've never shopped at the Kmart clearance section before. Is it in a designated corner or end of an aisle like at Target? I tried looking for it the last time I was there and didn't see a clearance section.

Some Kmarts have a dedicated clearance section on a shelf or bin, others have the games on the normal shelves behind the glass marked with yellow clearance prices, and still others dont even have the games marked clearance behind the glass. This last situation is where you would find the better deals as most of the general public wouldnt know about the clearances.

YMMV. Most of the stores near me have a clearance endcap or a clearance bin in the electronics section. Many stores don't keep up with their pricing so if you see a game mentioned in this thread for a low price ask to have it scanned (or bring in a printout of the barcode and use one of the customer scanners).
 
well I went to a kmart near my friend and saw disgaea 2 which had a 49.99 sticker on it. I ask the lady to scan it to see if the price drop. She gave me a look and said its 49.99 and I ask nicely. Then she did which took a long time since she was a lazy ***** after the scan it came out 49.99 -_-

That has been on clearance for a long time now, so I wouldn't be surprised if the register said "Check shelf price" after she scanned it. I'm guessing it had a $49.99 sticker on it.

I asked the same thing to a guy at my Super K for the games Shadowrun(360), Killzone(PSP), and another that I can't remember. Then the guy said that he priced them a minuet ago. I ask him again and he does it and it checked out that they were the price marked.
 
ok K-mart is back on my list of places to visit weekly... so I went to my usual *secret* kmart... having read about the 12 month starter kits and Hd-dvd drives i remembered seeing both at my kmart where literally it seems no one shops and they have a good bunch of the 360 clearance games (still mind u), they have literally piles upon piles of 360/ps3/ps2 games that are always there... so i went hoping for a $12 HD-DVD player but to my surprise it was actually gone... I was so upset til I saw the 12 month stater kit... and 3 of them at that.... right next to them was 2 3 month kits... I instantly asked for a price check and voila! 20.00 & 7.00 respectively... overall they seem to have so many clearance games (the only ones I care about r the 360 ones but I KNOW they have hard to find ps2 games there too... i didn't bother to check the hidden halo headset just in case the cashier (we had a conversation about my good deal and how he plays halo and feels jipped over paying 50 for xbl) would have bought it seeing as I will not have money til thursday... overall here's my pickup today

Stopped at an out-of-the-way Kmart last night on my way home from moving my sister. Found:

.Hack//GU x2 Was in the case marked $39.99. Asked for a PC ($10) and got both.

Capcom Fighting Evolution x2. Marked $9 in the clearance, rang up for $3

VJ Red Hot Rumble GC. Marked $6, but rang up check shelf label. Took about 20 minutes for the manager to get a price on it, but i didn't mind too much cuz I was exhausted and just enjoyed sitting down and relaxing. Finally came back with $3. I got it thinking I didn't have one yet. Ends up I do, but an extra for trading won't hurt!

I really hate when that happens. You know that the price should be lower, the typical K-Mart employee doesn't have a clue about clearance prices, yet it still rings up at full price.

Usually if that happens they won't even try anything else. They are then certain that every sticker in the store is correct, based on a single one being correct. :bomb:

Thats why I started taking in Bar codes to scan .
