[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

just picked up killer 7 ps2 for 1.50. good luck, couldn't find any other games worth getting. suprisingly, my local kmart is pretty up to date on their clearances, and pretty organized. more than i can say about others i've been to and heard about. Kind of sucks though because all of their clearance stuff is put together, and it's harder to catch some hiding like at other locations

I bought it at $7 like 8 months ago and I thought it was a steal! WOW $1.50
 
I was out of town visiting the in-laws and stopped by a very out-of-the-way Kmart. They completely misjudged the direction the city was building in and put a Kmart in the middle of nowhere. They had nearly every recent clearance game and quite a few of the older games as well.

Sadly, I only had $25 on me, so I walked out with a copy of .hack//GU vol. 3.

Wow nice finds! It's been forever since I've seen any copies of Lumines at B&M stores. I was also lucky enough to nab a copy of Wario Ware Touched! and a Tetris DS at K-Mart but that was months ago.

I wonder if this was one of the games that got marked back up? I got my copy during the 30% off of clearance games sale. I think mine was around $13 after the additional discount.

went to one by me today and got Perfect dark zero for $7 and with all this talk about viewtiful joe got me thinking to buy the trilogy for GC but not as cheap as some of you have gotten it except for one which did come out at $3.50 (red hot rumble and was marked $14.99) and VJ1 and VJ2 came up "check shelf price" and she marked it as they were at $9.99 each.

2 quick questions: do the new psp battery packs (ones that work one both phat and slim) come up as $4 or that only applies to the older ones? also how reliable are the price scanners in the store for these deals or do they only come up at the register?

Awesome find. You can sign up for at least several years in advance. I'm good on Xbox Live through 2011. :cool:

Yea, I'm returning the extra I bought since i ordered FES and can't even seem to move it for cost.

You don't think it'll be worth keeping and selling later on? I mean look at what some of the other SMT games are going for on eBay...

could happen - but i don't think any of the other SMT games had a situation like FES.
 
I actually saw P3 at a store that shall remain nameless (a man has to protect his future investments!) and I'm going to be keeping an eye on it for when it clearances. I'm sure it'll have an acceptable resale value in the future, probably when SMT4 comes out on the PS3..... hopefully.
 
Teh copy at my store sold last week. Who knows....Teh original may still be worth alot after FES comesout....Many collectors prefer the first edition, even if a enhanced version comes out.

Need a lil help if anyone can: I went to buy a new psp battery pack since my original just crapped out on me and was lucky enough to find a stamina battery pack for the old model psp which had a tag for $43.99 and I remember reading here that these dropped down to $4.00. so when I went to checkout, it prompted the clerk to enter the price and ended up with the $43.99. :bomb:

Now I really would hate to let this go but is there a way I can get CS to look up the clearence price on it or does that vary store to store?

Ask to speak to a manager at the front service desk, tell them that an item came up 'Check Shelf Label' and you think that it was at a lower price than it's stickered. Any manager worth their salt will be able to take a pricing gun and with a couple button presses, they'll know what the last price in the system was for that item.

That's how I ended up with a copy of Rumble Roses for PS2 for $1, since that was the last price it was at in the system before it dropped out.

I used to know the sequence myself and quoted it to a few Kmart employees(and received some strange looks for knowing that info), but I've since forgotten how to do it. It helps having a friend who works for Kmart in the Midwest.

cool, I'll give that a try after work since I need to go there for other things for my trip down to fl.

K-Marts in my area are getting smart about that. Once something drops out of the system as check shelf label they either re-tag it at a lower price (but not 90% off usually) and the cashier manually enters that price or worse than that, they enter it back in the system at a ridiculous price. My local K-Mart had Red White and Blue M&M's from last 4th of July. In November they were $0.22 a bag. They went to check shelf label and were re-entered at $1.79 a bag! Who is going to pay that much for year old candy (most probably think it's new for this year as 2008 red white and blue themed candy is now in stock as well). They did the same thing with Halloween candy. It was $0.27 a bag, went to check shelf price and now scans for $2.49.

I did find some huge rolls of bubble wrap for $0.97 that were check shelf price and were tagged for the $0.97and some packing tape with a dispenser (USPS kind) for $0.50 with the same deal so it sometimes works out.
 
When I bought Ghosts N' Goblins for the PSP it didn't have a price. So I told the guy that my friend got that at his Kmart for $3 and the guy said that was ok and he gave it to me.

Yeah, I'm from St. Petersburg but I drive over there a lot. the Tampa Kmarts don't have much left, at least not the really cheap stuff ($3 360 games, etc.).

See, so far I've been lucky and found some really cool managers here, so hopefully that streak continues for me. I think I ran into something which was repriced in the system, since there's a copy of Gun for PS2 or Xbox which I had checked at the same Kmart I picked up Rumble Roses from and it came up $29.99 or so.

It probably went to 'check shelf label' and one of the other managers put it back in the system at it's full price. Shame really, since that was one of the games from my old collection I wanted to rebuy on the cheap.
 
Man i dont know if i want K-mart employees trying to figure out how to use the pricing gun, they already have enough problems opening a sliding case door...
 
LOL I was trying to be nice, but the one female clerk at the Customer Service desk at the store I always hit acted like I was bothering her to have her re-check stuff tha came up 'check shelf' in electronics. So, I came back later and bugged a manager type to check via the price gun method.

Yeah no kidding i mean seriously they aren't doing anything at the moment, how hard is it for them to just ring something up...I usually love the reaction they get when they says its the correct price & when they actually ring up they have that dumb look in their face that cant be right...

I went to Sears the other day & i ask if they had a 20gb hard drive...Before even looking the guy was like you know there's a gamestop in the mall have you checked there...
