[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

In that case, you should just ask the employees to price check the items in the case, its a much safer route than asking them to scan your UPCs.

I was refused a price check at both locations. Employees guaranteed me that the $700+ price tag was the up-to-date price and that all Kmarts have "different pricing." I'm going to check out other Kmart locations and hopefully they have self-scanners.
 
so i went to kmart and was able to return/rebuy my 120 gb hard drive today. paid 75 for it and rebought it for 37. also did a return rebuy on the AI k2 Wii bundles. i paid 12 for each of the AI and i got them for 5 each. not to bad. i also asked about the olevia tvs and they said that they didnt carry those models anymore. they just carried the element brand. said that they wouldnt be getting anymore olevias either. oh well.

Does this mean we probably won't be able to buy the 1.99 games since they are now pennied out? If so, a lot of the good deals are now history.

Has anyone had any luck in getting the cashier to sell you the pennied out games? Did you have to persuade them or ask them to sell it for the last sale price?
 
^ Just like with pennied guides, if you walk up to the counter with 3 things that cost a penny and nothing else you will more then likely get shot down. If you go up with a soda or a magazine or something, your odds are much greater.

I doubt you are going to find many of the $2 games. Most of them are got gone before they were $2. If the price sticker is on the game, the clerk may ring up that price. Other than that, you are probably going to have to get a manager or someone that knows how to use a handheld to look up the old price. I have had this done twice, once I got the goods, the 2nd time I got refused. The manager said he had to send them back.
 
I went to the Hialeah, FL one and it was pretty interesting. I never go to Kmart unless I see something here. Once there, I see the space for the 120gb Xbox360 hard drive sold out. There were a few camera's left for $10. The Guitar Hero games were marked full price, but they were having blue light specials and announced Guitar Hero 3 was going to be $15 and Guitar Hero Aerosmith was going to be $7. They repeated this over and over for 30 mins then they said the sale ended.

Such an odd way to do it. Especially if all these items do indeed ring up for the cheaper price anyways? Wild stuff.

The clearance price is activated from a terminal in the office. Activation is pretty much at the mercy of the each department lead, plc manager or store manger.

They may offer you last sticker price. You may get lucky, but you are pretty much SOL.
 
Went to 4 Kmarts today in NorCal and not a single one had any Olevia TVs whatsoever, clearance or otherwise. No Guitar Hero's either. So far, a total bust for me.

I've only seen one person post that they actually got the $83 Olevia. Anyone else have any luck?
 
just came back from K-Mart in Florida Ave (in Tampa). Got:
* GH: Aerosmith for 7 bucks
* Rockband 1 Full Set for 35 bucks
(both for PS3)

Found a Medal Of Honor Airborne for the 360. Of course it rang up out of system, but luckly it was tagged at 1.99. It seems like this Kmart also tagged many of their out of the case items, of course, this also meant that it was a pretty stripped of all of their clearence items.
 
No dice on the Olevia TVs at my store. Almost all the clearanced music games (Rock Band, Rock Revolution, Guitar Hero 3/Aerosmith, American Idol, DDR) was gone, not that I have room for any of that crap.

A mysterious Metal Slug 7 appeared out of nowhere so I grabbed that. I forgot to investigate the Mega Man Zero 4's but they ain't going anywhere. Previous KMart threads say $14...next time I'm down there, giddyup.

There were also a lot of games at the counter for $15 and below, most were crap but there was some cool stuff like:
Fatal Fury Archives vol 2. (PS2)
SNK Arcade Classics (wii)
KOF Collection (wii)
Super Dodegball Brawlers (DS)
Master of the Monster Lair (DS)
N+ (DS)

These all had a sort of generic "value price" sticker on them so I don't know if they're from another supplier or whatever. I doubt they'll go any lower but I could be wrong.

I saw 2 packs of Sony brand memory cards for the PS2 for $10.00 at the KMart in Oakdale, MN. I bought one and there was one left.
 
Hi guys,

I just got back from Kmart. I took a list of about 26 games and close to half of the games actually showed up on the scanner at the prices listed, so I was pretty excited. When I got back to the games the only one I was able to fine was Anabus II for $6. So I asked for them to page someone and waited for ever, finally when I was getting ready to go ask for someone again an employee walked by. I got Anabus and asked if there was any way to look the games up to see if they had them, thinking they would be able to scan them and look them up that way. She asked me of some of the games I wanted and I told her, she then proceeded to look through each game individually.

I've not been to a lot of Kmart stores, but this was by far the worst store I've ever been to in terms of looking for games. They just had the games stacked in the case, going all different ways, some in the back of others, etc. After looking for about 5 games I finally decided to just leave with the game I had, not wanting to spend the rest of the night looking through them.

My question is, in your experiences, if a game scans on Kmarts price checkers, does that usually mean they have the game somewhere? The games either came up with the price or they came up saying to check shelf for pricing. So I wasn't sure if I should try going back, maybe during the day, to see if they can look them up, or if they can scan even after they are gone.

Earlier this week found Metal Slug for DS for 5 at Macon, GA.

Not necessarily, same would apply to many other stores a well.

Thanks, that's kind of what I was thinking, but was really hoping it wasn't the case. I was joking earlier to my friends and said if I got everything on the list it would have only costlike $120, so when I seen it all ringing up I was really hopeful they had some stuff.

I did end up getting Anubus, even though I didn't know what it was. For $6 I'm sure it will be okay. I'm going to try and find some more Kmarts to see if I can find anything, but at least I found a Kmart that seems to mark prices down, so at least I succeeded with that.

A huge thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread! :) I was able to score an Aerosmith bundle and a Rock Revolution bundle for $14+tax out the door. Now just trying to decide if I'm going to hold on to them or trade them in...

Hopefully they aren't making a living like that because that would really stink. Someone cleaned out all of the GH III units before I could get another one. I don't really care because they are there to be sold and sold fast at those prices. Learned a lesson I did...Buy all you can when you see it and return what you don't use/need.

That would explain why I haven't had any luck in finding any game lower than $10 at my K-Mart in years.

your gamestop may vary
East coast Gamestops are a big different because there not as profitable as west coast so trade in's would be less, because they have specials all the time.

but when i galled Gamestop Trade in for Guitar and aerosmith is 13 bucks TIV 10 for guitar 3 for aerosmith

HWV/GC its 20 bucks for both

both with 20% less cash if u want that

Actually, it may be the best Kmart, they probably don't put clearance stickers on the games, giving you an advantage. As to your questions, it either means all those games were stolen, or somewhere else in the store. Lokk around the whole electronices section. There is usually a shelf, not behind glass that has the clearance goodies. Go back, good luck

I don't have a list but just about every toy that is on clearance is now going to come up 0.01. The ranges were really high like a barbie car is $57.00 and the price drops to 0.01 now.

Another example are DBZ figure's are $4.99 and are now 0.01. So pick them up now cause it looks like everything no matter what price is being shipped back.

There is a toys reset coming, most stores should be stocking now.
 
Snagged two :360: DDR Universe 3 bundles and three :DS: Metal Slug 7s. I actually snagged MS7 for myself at $10 a few weeks back, so these are extras that I'll use for trade/gifts for buddies (PM me if you want to trade for one). Not sure what I'm going to do with DDR yet, I have some pals that are DDR maniacs but I haven't heard very good things about the Universe series. $5 is just stupid cheap, though. I'll try anything for $5.

One thing I'm wondering: the list of clearance games are games that have had price breaks on them for ages. I still see old, old games at my local KMarts (Dynasty Warriors Gundam, etc.) that ring up at full price. How many times per year does KMart add new clearance games? Is it a quarterly thing?

my kmart sucks. I wait a week for them to restore all their games on the shelves and then to only find that they only put a couple back up. I told the employee to look through the entire section of games to see if there were any clearanced ones, I only was able to find PSU but that ranged up at $30. So yeah my kmart sucks.

What? Gamestops do not have different pricing (with the exception that for a short time at least the ones around the Kansas City area had different trade-in values).

Trade-in value for the PS3 Guitar Hero Aerosmith bundle at HWV/Gamecrazy is $20. The 360 one is considerably less for some reason.

Also, I seriously doubt any store takes the Rock Revolution bundle in for trade (game yes, drums no). But Hollywood just might. I'll be there later and I'll ask them.

As for why people are buying them - well, $7 just seems too good to pass up. I bought one and I'm not sure what I'll do with it. I think my son wants to try out the drums. But after that they'll just take up space I guess :lol:. I passed up a couple more I saw last night though - there's certainly no reason to get more than 1.

Anyway, I returned a $25 DDR 3 and a $10 AI:E2 on Friday evening. They told me they'd be back out on the floor "tomorrow or the day after". I'm checking there today to see if I can find them. With some luck, they just left the $25/$10 stickers on them and they are still there (this store hadn't repriced anything on Friday - GH Aero bundles marked $28, etc).

Yeah, I was kind of thinking the same thing, after I thought about it for a little bit. Not only are their games sorted really badly and hard to look at (the way the lighting was the glass door really reflected and I looked like a complete moron trying to find games) but as you said, they didn't mark anything clearance. The game I got did have a lower sticker price on it, but it wasn't yellow and was kind of hidden, so you couldn't really see it. They have a good selection of games, so I think they will be good, at least in the future, to get some good deals. The other issue was that the prices they did have on games was so high. Games that can easily be found for $20 anywhere else, were still listed at Kmarts original prices, which are usually higher to being with.

I kind of searched the whole electronics while I was waiting for someone to help me. The only thing I found was a bunch of guitar hero sets scattered throughout. I'm pretty sure when I was there they other day they had some of the Aerosmith bundle, but I couldn't find anything. They had guitar hero III but I already have it, so didn't need that. I couldn't find any other games out of the case, they had a smaller case that is also locked with a couple of clearanced games, but nothing of interest there either.

I'm going to try and go back sometime and see if I can't get someone to scan the barcodes with one of their handheld scanner, I would think those would have information on whether or not they have them in stock anywhere in the store.

Last weekend I found two American Idol Encores for the Wii-- the first one! Too bad they were still $39.99. I still snagged them since they were worth twice as much. This store had everything though--everything that should be on clearance but isn't:
--Zelda TP gamecube
--Wario Ware Smooth Moves
--Fire Emblem Wii

and some others I forget. Multiple copies of all :( oh well, last week was my last opportunity to buy anything to flip since the semester starts soon. Maybe they'll still be there on winter break.

I didn't say gamestops prices vary by location in the same area....
but it does vary by location depending on regions (which can be states differences)

mirrors edge may trade in for 8 bucks on the west coast but only 5 here on the east coast




I also wanna know about why people even buy the rock rev drums if no one likes them and they have no TIV or flip ...

I grabbed 2 Metal Slug 7's from there and American Idol Encore 2. They didn't have the 120gb HDD.
 
Still haven't seen anyone else post that they found one of the Olevia TVs. If a price drop happens and no CAGs are there to hear it, does it make a sound?

Except that that isn't true. I've been involved with GS trade-ins for years and never once have I ever gotten a different value than anyone else posting in the various GS trade-in value threads unless it was a universal drop and I just happened to be the first person to report it. (The one exception being the KC-area that I mentioned previously - my point was that was the oNLY region in the entire country to have slightly different pricing than everywhere else).

Anyway, I went back to the Kmart where I returned the stuff Friday and it was nowhere to be seen. But clearly someone who knew what they were doing had been there in the meantime as all the GH bundles were gone as well - it was like they never had any. Oh well, I still have a DDR3 that I bought at $12 and I guess I'll either have to accept that price or return it and most likely not be able to get it back. I almost want to return it just so Kmart loses the money on it (having to sell it for $4 to someone else).
 
I talked to a Gamestop Manager, who explained that to me.........

its the same as any other retail store having a sale in its area but a sister store isn't doing the same sale.

Where i live we have 2 of everystore in a 10 mile radius
and each store honestly runs different sales sometimes....

ps3 it was 4 : ( wanted it for 360
 
:( no 120HD at Kmart in Queens, actually I will go on record and say the Kmart here blows chunks. Everytime I go in there I feel dirty like I just walked into some third world flee market.
 
Well I was able to successfully take back the two $75 hard drives I had bought to a store that actually did have the $37 price in their system. I was just really friendly with the customer service lady and she made an exception for me and refunded the drives and re rung them up at me at the lower price which they aren't supposed to do.

It pays to be charming some times.

Not to mention the large amount of space those things take up. I passed up on them for $8 but I will probably buy one if they get under $5. If not, no worries since it's not like I want another giant game box and useless controller.
