[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them (and they don't have restickered UPCs - see point 3 below) they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: http://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way). What we are currently missing is a good list of accessories. I have added a few that I know about. We need more info on these (and there must be more to uncover).

In general, I'm sticking with ShiningSlade's method of listing games. However, there are a few changes. Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

went last night to look for about 8 titles and although the electronics guy was helpful looking for them, everything was out of stock. Buffalo, NY

I can verify Soul Calibur III (PS2) for $14 as I saw it correctly stickered as such. I seriously hope they release a GH version of this with the memory card bug fixed!

At my nearest K-Mart, We Love Katamari (PS2), Donkey Konga 2 w/Bongos (GC), and EyeToy Play 2 (PS2) are all still full price $29.99, $39.99, and $49.99 respectively, so perhaps this K-Mart just never lowered them. Other CAG reported YMMV on the last two as well.

I found two Kmarts that I hadn't yet hit which weren't too far away yesterday. I had a fun time at the Cleveland Ave, Atlanta Kmart with this wonderful lady who worked in the electronics department.

After I had asked if she'd scan two xbox games which rang up dirt cheap, she asked if there were any games for the DS or PS2 that were cheap. So I brought out my list and she copied a few titles down to look for her Grandson. We then proceeded to check a few other titles, but we didnt' find anything exciting. Though I did find a copy of Ape Escape 3 for her grandson ($4).

She then told me about a man who comes in once in a while early in the morning looking for particular games, all clearanced pretty low. "He reads something like kick ass games...? Is that what you read?" I corrected her and wrote the site address down for her future reference.

But who are you, buddy? Do you frequent the Atlanta thread?


I also went to the Kmart on Tara Blvd, Jonesboro and that was a bust. I saw Super Robot Taisen OG, but it rang up 19.99. =( So I picked up a strategy guide for the original Dino Crisis ($1.50) Don't ask why, because I don't know the answer to that myself.

Sorry but i would never give out this site to people who work there in the future. Most employee's tend to talk and if they know about this list and how it works then they will start snagging all the stuff before we can. I usually give em a copy of my list or let em look thru it but i'd never give them the source of info.

I forgot that the last digit in a UPC is a checksum digit and can be calculated from the first 11 digits.
So the last digit is 0 and the full UPC is 815687000300.

I checked the box to double check my math.
 
Picked up the following yesterday:

There were clearance prices all over the electronics section. I got a pack of 10 AA Energizer Max batteries for $2, marked down from $6.19

Also, BIG thanks to io for restarting the list and for his dedication in organizing and upkeeping it. It's been a big help.

I'm rather selective about who I give the site to. I generally give to people I think won't check very often if at all.

Plus, if these stores ever paid attention to their price drops, they'd have the clearance prices before we do. They get the print-outs and are supposed to mark down the product with the new price reflected.

Does anybody knows if psychonauts for the PS2 dropped anymore, i did check it about a month ago and it was $15 and my Kmart it's a long drive away, also has anybody checked for eye toy play 2, last time I checked it was $12 , but I want it cheaper,:D thanks , and this is a very cool thread, later

They also had Ultimate Spider Man for the XBOX for 10 bucks. It was stickered at that much, and I took it to the test scanner just to make sure. I was hoping it was 2 bucks, but it wasn't.

Ha, well today was one of those days when being a parent got in the way of something I intended to do (go into Kmart with a bunch of UPCs). I had to take my kids to see the Harlem Globetrotters. It was special Cub Scout day for my son, and my daughter came along too. You should have seen her make her way up for the autographs afterwards (I really didn't think they'd want to, and I didn't, but she insisted). I was impressed - she's becoming quite the collector. I wonder where she got that from? :lol:

Anyway, I'll update the OP with all the various bits up to here.
I'm beginning to think GBA SRT and KH:CoM are not real drops and were simply flukes at whatever Kmart they were found cheap. I will put the "alternate" $19.99 pricing on for now, but if no one else finds them cheaper in the next few weeks they get taken off the list.

Aren't those missing the first and last digit? The PS2 network adapter is already on the list and has another number on each end, in any case (if that number was right, I don't know for sure).
 
While this is not a phenomenal deal(compared to the DVD/VCR Target cleared out for under $50 I think, this Kmart brand(Curtis) DVD Player/VCR was marked as on clearance @ a Kmart I visited in upper NY state yesterday en route to Turning Stone Casino.

I never did make it to Turning Stone...but I did get as much info as I could find for the item I found.

Curtis DVD7600(I'm assuming that's the 'model', as it was plastered all over the box)

Price originally($78)
Price I saw it on clearance for($64.00)

While not a huge deal due to the fact that it's not a clearance on a 'name brand' item, for $64 to have a vcr/dvd player in one ain't too bad.

Here's the UPC I copied from the bottom of the box(the only UPC on the box with all 12 numbers): 058465761240

I already checked it on UPCDATABASE and to no avail, there's NO current file on this item yet.

I also saw a copy of Conker: Live & Reloaded in this store, but as usual, the person with the keys 'disappeared'. Ahhh well, not like I need anymore games right now anyway.
 
^^^ Added the DVD/VCR combo. I found myself at a Kmart today during my run to a few Best Buys. Of course, I forgot my UPC sheet so I couldn't check anything. However, I was able to verify the 360 Faceplate deals (they were clearly marked). There's also some Nyko accessory pack with an Intercooler on clearance but I forget the price. Also Tomb Raider Legend was clearly marked. Hopefully that's a sign they will add more 360 games, and THEN drop them to $4 or so in subsequent adjustments ;).

Otherwise, this store did not seem to have a single cheap game (going from my memory of the list).

Anyway, all the deals I saw today have been moved from 'yellow' to 'red'.

It's ending up that I will probably be updating it unless Shiningslade wants to ;). But as of right now it hasn't been updated in a while, though it is still good for most of the games.

They are, though I'm going from what the receipt has for its UPC's.

Full UPC for the NA is 711719704300, while the faceplace is 882224037396 .

I had SRT scanned at Latrobe PA Big K and it rang up $10 at the register. I'd love to get that for cheap someday (and a Gunstar Hero). Picked up a $3 Polarium instead. They didn't have any Kingdom Hearts.

after that, bring that barcode printed to a k-mart price check to see what it rings up to?

im kinda lost and im new to this btw. =)

Holy crap! Latrobe! I was born in Greensburg and I have an aunt, cousin, and grandma still in the area (my aunt has lived in Latrobe for 30+ years).

Say you print out the list in the OP and bring it with you to K-Mizzle. If you see a game on the list on the shelf, it should ring up at that price. It can be easy as that.

But K-Mart doesn't seem to be a particularly well-organized, um...organization ;) Some stores still haven't updated their prices to what the clearances should be nation-wide, and personally, I can barely even find an employee working in electronics, let alone one who will be a helpful salesperson.

So if you a) want to be sure of the price of a game before you go to the trouble of having it rung up; 2) want to check and see if that game you want, that's listed in the OP as $14, has dropped to $7; or III) just want to discover new games that might have gone clearance, then yes, checking barcodes at the price scanners is the most convenient way to do those things.

Went to the kmart in portsmouth nh.Took me 20 min to get someone in electronics but i scored a few things.I dont think these need confirmation but here they are.

they had super robot taisen marked 29.99 and it rang up 19.99.
Kingdom hearts gba rang up full price 29.99.

Didnt find alot and i think i went through everything but hard to tell.Games are just randomly stacked behind each other..even newer releases hidden behind older games.Bleh....but the lady they sent up was really nice and let me go through all the games.
 
I got another Mercinares for xbox $2, pacman world 2 for xbox $2 and a psychonauts for xbox $3. Passed on Midway Arcade Treasures 3 for PS2 but it kept making a weird beeping sound when the guy was scanning it, so I guess he typed in $19.99 manually.

Appreciated. With the Best Buy and then GR clearances I've been way too busy to stop into Kmart this week. And now I'm behind on my real work (yes, indeed, I do have a real job!). But I'll keep monitoring this thread and update the OP with anything you find.

Its some sort of Universal Gamers remote that is $35 (30% off 50%)

The Motorola Head Coach headset is 30% off, but one store is was $35 (30% off 50) and another was $38 (30% off $55)

Also Spyro Shadow legacy DS was $15 and Bible game GBA is $14

Metroid Prime Pinball (DS) - $3.50

It was nice scoring some cheap games this week since Best Buy was chaos. Best Buy gets completely pillaged within minutes on Monday morning, yet I'm still finding clearance games at KMarts over two months after they drop. Thank you CAG!
 
I scored Half-Life 2 for $2. I had to take off the upc sticker though. Im gonna go back to that K-mart and also another one in da morning.
