[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them (and they don't have restickered UPCs - see point 3 below) they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: http://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way). What we are currently missing is a good list of accessories. I have added a few that I know about. We need more info on these (and there must be more to uncover).

In general, I'm sticking with ShiningSlade's method of listing games. However, there are a few changes. Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

Acutally, you only get 7 days to adjust the price. After that, they might give you the run around and force you to return it, then you'll wait until its put back onto the shelf. At least thats what they did to me. The 90 days is the return policy.

Yup, that's why the only things I've picked up this week are Rogue Galaxy and Disgaea 2. Those stand a good chance of vanishing before dropping further due to the eBay value for those games sealed. Most of the really cheap games (under $10) are already long gone locally.

It might work, depends on how strict the person you're dealing with is.

For me, I tried reasoning that with the customer service rep, but she insisted that I needed to return it and then rebuy when it was put back on the shelf the next day, which was pointless for me because it was the last day of that 30% sale.
 
Went to a 5th Kmart looking for Animal Crossing. No luck

Ended up with 2X Xbox Live Gold Kits for 9.99 each. I have now 30months in my Xbox live account :)

Also picked up Quake 4 14 dollars and Kameo 12 dollars.

They had Moto GP, Superman, Hitman, Tomb Raider all on clearance stuff like Saints Row, Call of Duty 2, Dead risign rigned at their regular prices.

She was very nice and told me they were gonna work on the cleareance items this week.
 
I picked up a PS2 network adapter yesterday in Williamsburg, VA for about $16 after the 30% off. I think they are becoming rare, so I wanted to snatch one while I still could. They still have one left, though.

Yes, they are rare.. or at least in high demand.

Those and Advance Wars DS MUST be picked up if seen. The PS2 network adapters sell for about $90-$100 new and sealed (on Amazon, $40 or so on ebay) Advance wars is worth $40-$60 ( would be ~$6 after the 30%).

The expiration date will show up on the bottom of a Kmart receipt and at the top of a Target receipt.

Kmart:
Merchandise included in today's transaction may be returned or exchanged before [date] with this receipt.

I used a card that expired in march last month, so i think the expiration is meaningless.
 
this isn't gaming related but while I was at kmart yesterday looking for games I stumbled upon a bunch of official usps packing supplies on clearance really really cheap. a whole box of 25 bubble mailers for 4.46, 3 pack tapes were 1.74. some other stuff but didn't pick up. when I get home I will post the upc numbers & maybe even take pictures of wat they look like.

I picked up some of the official usps packing tape, and it was like a dollar something for one of those huge rolls. They are great quality and NOISELESS.

I picked up a bunch of those a while back and even posted about it in this thread I think. I got a 2 pack of the plastic tape guns, one of which cost me $5 when I was in a hurry and didn't properly seal a package a while ago, but that was at the post office. I got it for like $1.25 or so during the 30% off clearance deal about a month or so ago.

Only mailers I found that were still available were some CD-sized ones(great for mailing games that're disc only via FC mail) and some undersized(reg book sized) bubble mailers.

I'll probably use 2 of those mailers taped together to ship out any future guides I have to, since every store that has a sale on mailers always sells out before I can grab them.

Not a bad deal though, if you can still FIND some of these items available. Hell, one of my local Kmarts still had the plastic and metal tape guns(industrial type) for $3-4 last time I was there, though I'm sure they're gone by now.
 
Well, I actually went to a Kmart yesterday. They had a bunch of the 360 games and the one I chose to have them check as verification (Moto GP 06) rang up as expected ($10.50 after the 30% off). I also checked Cars for the 360 but was disappointed that came up regular price ($19.99). They also did not have Star Trek Legacy. I bought Moto GP 06 but that's really about twice what I'd want to pay for that so I'll probably return it at some point (may hold on to see if the prices drop again).

I also found something new, I guess. I picked up a GameBoy Micro carrying case for $3.50 ($5 before discount). I just have my Micro in the sleeve it came with and this makes it a little better to carry around for the kids. Though we have barely used the thing (maybe played it 8 times total in a year).

Most times, you have to return them, then repurchase at the lower price. And, unless they have another copy of the same game in electronics for you to just run down there and grab at the new lower price, you have to wait till they return YOUR copy to electronics.

And, if your store is anything like my local stores, that may take till nights end at least.
 
You cannot adjust clearance items, it says so right on the back of the receipt, also no returns without a receipt for anything. You only have 7 days to price adjust, I guess thats for if an item goes on sale right after you bought it and does not apply to clearance items. All this is on the back of the receipt.

Our store goes by the book because the staff there has worked there for like 20+ years... if your store is anything like mine good luck getting anything past these people.

Well my Kmart just remodeled about a year ago, and many of the former staff got laid off or transfered, so 90% of the employees are new. They also seem to be very strict, possibly afraid to be fired or the manager is really hard on them.
 
I started working at Kmart just this year and man we have some good deals! When I bought my DS I got like 5 games for less than 20 bucks and they were good games, I made money on them when I traded them later on. Anyway god I hope I don't get fired they just started remodeling our store (many of our employees have been there 20+ years also)
 
this reply is similar to my reply in the "sears clearance thread", but only thing is that this is happening in the kmarts in my location as well.
basically, i found one k-mart that still has a few clearance titles in their store, and the are mark ecko's getting up{$4.50}, and rumble roses{$1.50}.
I took those games to the register, they scanned it, and both games rang up at 19.99 each. I didnt buy them of course.
however, when i put those games pack into the rack, i noticed 1 more copy of mark ecko's getting up, and i saw that there was a new s.k.u sticker on top of the case. i removed that sticker and took that game to the register again to have it price checked again, and to my surpirse, it rang up at $2.82, which i was about to buy right in the spot, only 1 minute later the guy asked me, did you just have this game price scanned a minute ago and it was 19.99, i said, i dont know, and he looked at the case, and saw that the sticker was removed, but i told it it wasnt me. any way, the mofo didnt let me buy that game for 2.82, because he called the manager and said that there are 2 same games, one rings at up 19.99, and one rings up at 2.82
can i report this K-Mart store to any one for trying to "go against the rules" since this is a univeral clearance for all K-Mart's...?
 
So...I'm missing the point where you actually expected to get the game for $3, considering you removed the sticker that is the SKU for the game, because it's from a different vendor. Basically, you were doing something wrong...and you want to report them for going against a rule they didn't go against?

Anyways...

I got lucky and found a Rogue Galaxy for $14 and a Disgaea for $17...I bought both, but I can only keep one, and the other is getting sold to cover the cost of both. I think I'm keeping RG, just because it looks badass.

I looked at 2 different stores for Tomb Raider for the 360, I'll have to hit another tomorrow. I'd love to score that for $10. Easy Achievement points...

Rogue Galaxy is indeed badass. I put about 90 hours into it. I couldn't imagine getting it for just $14. That's a great $/hour ratio there ;).

Consider yourself lucky you were able to walk out of there without a police escort and a criminal record. Swapping/removing price tags is criminal activity, similar to shoplifting. All it would've taken was somone to notice you pulling off the tag and security could've nabbed you. Even still, considering you just had the game scanned and rescanned at a much lower price, sticker residue, they still could've gotten you.

BTW, the reason for the new SKU tags is not the store's doing, it's the vendor.

I scored Moto GP '06 & Chrome Hounds for $10.50 Each. I looked around no luck finding Dead Rising. Also, Fight Night Round 3 is $30 ish not $7.50 :(
 
picked up disgaea 2 today at 17.50, almost got rogue galaxy but decided against it.

wish i came to this thread first and wrote down everything that i could have looked for. damn spontaneous trips. i was not expecting to find my local kmart while exploring a nearby commercial route (just recently moved). i really wish i thought of looking for the xbox live pack and asking to get it scanned.

It really amazes me how many people on here don't print lists. I always have a list on me and refer to it often when I'm in the store. I just don't whip it out in front of the store people. If you're uncomfortable with taking a list inside then at least print a list from the OP and keep it in your car, that way you can get in your head what titles you want before you go in.

As for printing a list, I finally did so just for my last trip there :rofl:. Yes, I hadn't even made a hardcopy of my own list before.

On another note, the Xbox Live 12-month packs are LONG gone (I got one for $24 several months ago) but what is the deal with the 3-month packs? My stores all have tons of those and they were put out at the same time. It's wierd they haven't clearanced those. I suppose since there hasn't been a replacement for those (like the Vision cam packs for the 12-month kits) they didn't feel the need to clearance them. I'm also waiting for those vision cam sets to go on clearance anywhere - probably not till next year though.

I had them all ring up back in the electronics department. Now, I might be paranoid but I couldn't see the prices when he was "ringing" them up. (As he told me, "they're priced as marked"). Was he maybe making up the prices when was ringing them up? (the prices quoted me, -were- about $10 less than quoted. but still vastly higher than what I expected.)

Is Table Tennis really worth $10.50? I was just thinking i'd wait and see if the Wii version worked well. This just feels like a $5 game to me.

I also saw and considered PSU, but when I read online about a monthly fee I'm glad I passed.

Go back, have another employee scan them and make sure you can see the display on the register when they ring them up. That's the only way to be certain.
