[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them (and they don't have restickered UPCs - see point 3 below) they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: http://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way). What we are currently missing is a good list of accessories. I have added a few that I know about. We need more info on these (and there must be more to uncover).

In general, I'm sticking with ShiningSlade's method of listing games. However, there are a few changes. Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

I was at sears TODAY, and their "sale prices" on xbox 360 games was the same REGULAR prices for the same game at other stores, in other words, it was a WASTE OF TIME.

Well several of the $4.90 games get $5-6 trade-in at GS. For example, MotoGP 06 trades for $5 right now and Phantasy Star for $6. So for $4.90x2+tax you get $21 in store credit (+$1.10 if you have an Edge card).

If you're into achievements, you can buy any of the $4.90-$7 games, play them and trade them in -- with the $10 for 2 bonus, at the very least you should get a couple backs more than what you paid. Think of it like a free rental.

IMO, as long as GS has something you want to buy, it's worth it.

Unfortunately, if enough people abuse it, we'll never see this offer again. I just picture someone in Gamestop's corporate offices wondering how their inventory of used copies of Star Trek Legacy jumped 800% in two weeks.

I saw Sonic the Hedgehog for the Xbox 360 today, it had a yellow $30 clearance sticker, not sure how much it scans at the scanner though as this Kmart was way behind updating the price tags.

I would have smacked her for saying that shit to me. Whatever is the lowest price, weither it's stickered or ring up price, you should get the lowest...but retail these days likes to fight for these things, even if they are video games...wtf?!?!?!? I understand if it's a big ticket item worth hundreds of dollars, but a under 10 dollar video game, is that really worth fighting a customer about?!?!? I bet you put a big smirk on your face when the manager came back and OK'ed everything right infront of her. That's what you get bitch.

Almost the same thing happened to me today over in Fairfax, VA. Games were tagged 59.99, came up 7/4.50 and the cashier was like "uh that can't be right..." and his co-worker said "yep that's right, we got games on clearance.."
He then shut up and I walked out with my games. Too bad that one chick wasn't working there today or else I would have "Wow'ed her again at finding cheap games at HER kmart"

I had a similar experience at my Kmart. The lady working refused to accept that Kameo was $4.90. "No that can't be right, that can't be right."

She voided and rescanned twice. I said it was on clearance and she snidely said "Well there's no clearance sticker on it." Then she acted like she was doing me a favor by allowing me to buy it at the price it scanned for.

I guess that's what makes Kmart (and this thread) so great for clearance sales. Nothing is marked right and the employees don't even know where the best deals are.

By dumb luck I found a clearanced iPod Nano at another Kmart on Saturday. No sticker or nothing. I had to get a stockperson to page the cashier because as usual nobody seems to actually work in electronics. After the iPod scanned at $48, the guy said "Wow, I wish I knew it was that cheap. I would have bought it." :roll:

Of course, there are some Kmarts (especially the newer, remodeled ones) where everything is orderly and well marked. I cross those off the list and never bother to go back.

Yes, GR BB let u trade-in multiples copies even the game still SEALED. Lucky i have 2 GR nearby. I trade-in 4-6 games per store (multiples copies) and go back & trade-in again :)

If u lucky u find few good XBOX360 games at Kmart from $4.90 - $7 and Trade-in at GR from $15- $19 per game.

Don't be too hasty crossing them off the list... I've been surprised twice in the past few days by in orderly Kmarts by hot clearance items tagged correctly and hanging on the wall for all to see.

I do believe that was his point... The well marked stores are the ones that get cleared out first and therefore, not worth taking the time to check them.

For those of you unable to find good deals at Kmart, you can close to double your money.(if the $5 extra trade in per game is intact) by buying the XBox 360 3 Pack that can be found at most stores. For $30.00 you get Open Season, Cars, and Fuzion Frenzy 2.

Cars $8.00

+ $15 for the trade in 3 extra $5 per game

$57.00

So if you subtract $2.00 for the tax you paid to get the games your getting $25.00 profit.
 
So I picked up Surf's Up, Gun, Star Trek Legacy, Cabela's Alasakan Adventures, Phantasy Star Universe, World Championship Poker, Bionicle Heroes, Far Cry, Superman, Chromehounds and Pimp My Ride.

Very tempting to trade it in at GS and get at least $50 + whatever else they trade in at. But I collect 360 junk.. and I know i'll play them one day.. what to do what to do..

Son of a bitch!!! And I just saw Amped 3 the other day finally @ a local Kmart. Mind you, $7 is a bit out of my too cheapass price range, even for flipping. :whistle2:#

But hell, if I knew my local BB could order me a couple games I've wanted for PS2, I'd trade Amped 3 and one of those others in a heartbeat.

Oh and my local BB which takes trades has allowed me to trade in a game or three still sealed too. But, ymmv on that, since I think I showed them the receipt from Kmart or wherever with how cheap I got the games originally. I only did it as proof that I didn't steal the damned things, which is what many people @ stores think if you're trying to trade in sealed games.
 
Well, I was going to drive out to another Kmart today, but the wife left the gas tank almost empty and parked on a hill so the damn thing isn't starting. No wonder she took my car today. :/

Ok, I talked to a few blockbuster stores in my area. According to them, only the CORPORATE stores buy used games/movies. The nearest one is in south riding. Anyways when I called the store, the guy seemed very clueless to the promo saying it was movies instead of games and I had to correct him several times. He then said it was store credit instead of cash :| Well i don't rent movies at block buster so there is no point. Thanks anyways :)

Yeah, the pack rat in me overpowers the rational part of me. Which is why years from now I'll still have Bionicle, Superman and Pimp My Ride in my collection when I could've traded them toward a decent game ... :roll:
 
I went to kmart last night, they had a lot of clearance games but nothing was cheap enough and nothing I wanted, also the place was a zoo with only 2 cashiers working register and 20-25 people in line at each register.

Might want to avoid kmart day before thanksgiving and on thanksgiving, an employee told us they were only having 2 registers open those days as well...

I was able to find the same game for sale at GameFly for $12.99 + shipping. I'm definitely returning this. It's not worth $20 to me.

Went to a KMart recently to check some prices and got PSU-$7, Over G Fighters-$15, and so on. The guy with the scanner was reading these prices off to me. He had one more 26" HD monitor left, but without the discount I figured it wasn't worth it. Are their scanners and registers different?

Right, and MY point was that I've found some hot deals at those stores lately, even though I wasn't expecting to. So if I hadn't taken the time to check them, I would never have gotten the deals. ;)
 
I havent even heard of this 30% off stuff. Is it at every KMart? Because theres a big sign up at mine that says Clearance as Marked. But 30% may warrant a pick up of Surfs Up for me. I saw MotoGp there but there was no clearance tag on it. Wonder if its still ring up for $7. of course I cant remember if it was 06 or 07 that I saw there.

My store had no signs so I wasn't expecting it but when I bought Rogue Galaxy and Final Fantasy XI they automatically rang up -30%
 
I spent $60.17 on games at KMart and traded them in at Gamestop for $96. $50 on Mario Galaxy pre-order and $46 toward Rock Band :) Not too shabby.

They didnt give you an extra 10% for your edge card? You should get that regardless of the promotion.

You could have also maybe squeezed out an extra 20-30% if you applied your credit towards a pre-order (you can always cancel the pre-order later).
