[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

Damn. Found a copy of GT5 Prologue... And it rang up at 29.99. I was so bummed. I was looking through all their clearance games - the manager let me riffle through the cases and I was telling him which games were clearanced. He tried to get me to work there. I guess I look like a snot nosed kid, not a System Admin for one of the biggest companies in the world :) Left a Scene It, a bunch of Dark Sectors, X Blades and Beijing Olympics and 09 sports games. In fact, the only thing I picked up was a copy of Beijing for 360...

You should have bought the "Naked Bros. Band Video Game" w/ mic from Gamestop instead. It includes a mic (it's a logitech and I think it works with all platforms) and game for $3.99. It is for PS2. You can look up the game on Gamestop.com to see if any are in stock in your area if you are ever in the market for a mic again.

Good idea, he still has time to return it. I did hear about some Gamestops taking the mic out of the bundle so watch out.

Edit: Some of the accessories have dropped nicely, (rock revolution drums $1.79, RB drums $4.99) but it looks like the games haven't went down again.

Some of the clearance prices are actually increased over their previous total. Then others are far from clearances...$20 for Siphon Filter Dark Mirror for PS2??!
 
I don't know about you guys, but the fun of finding cheap shit at kmart for me was actually having them open the game case, dig through to find what others said was on clearence, hoping old things you found was on clearence, going back to see if what you found had droped in price, and fighting with kmart employees and managers to give it to you at that price.

The amount of attention and the lists posted by actual corporate workers of Kmart/Sears really has me worried that they would use this to their advantage somehow. I mean, I know we can't just like make them leave or stop posting, nor am I suggesting that they should leave, but this has just took the edge out of deal hunting at kmart for me.

I thought it was awesome when Kaydigi started posting lists for us, it felt like we had an insider that was behind enemy lines and sticking it to the man. Sadly now, it just feels like I'm being hand fed instead of participating in "The Hunt"

I know most of you would say to me, "Just go to Target, Best Buy, ToysRUs, or something.", but I live in an area where the only places to buy video games is a Walmart, Movie Gallery, and a couple of Pawn Shops. I usually go it to the next town over that has a Gamestop, Blockbuster, and Kmart as well. A trip to a Target or Best Buy is a real treat to me, because it usually takes a trip to Morgantown, WV or another place about 50 or more miles away from my home to get to one. So because Kmart is the only REAL place I hunt for clearance on a long term basis, being "hand fed" the info really makes kinda sad...
 
Alright guys, I went through all the items on the list that were selling for $5.00 or less and looked them up on Amazon trade in. Below is a list of the ones that are flippable through Amazon. If you want to know if something selling above 5 bucks is flippable then please look it up and post it here. Same goes for other locations (such as Gamestop). I'm taking a chance posting this on Thursday (the prices don't hit till Sunday) so if somehow Amazon tanks their prices early or we find out that these don't actually clearance for said prices, count on future posts like this from me (and hopefully everyone else) not to come until Sunday mornings. I just thought it would give everyone a chance to check Kmart early, see what's there, and hit them up first thing Sunday morning.

Like I said, I just checked trade in prices. it's just too much leg work for one person to look everything up but I figured that I take advantage of other people's info all the time so I should contribute some (although I was the first one that mentioned the Viva Pinata game at Sears this month).

Actually I think those prices are averages over all of the stores. What I mean is that they take all of the pricing that each store has these games at, add it up and then divide by the number of stores to get these wacky prices.

I really miss Kay's lists where she just listed what price the games SHOULD be priced at instead of these stupid averages.

From what I understand, it's their in-house "feedback" thing, although you waive any rights you may have had by signing up for the network. You can be written up, suspended, and even fired for posting negative things towards KMart/Sears, although they're saying they want "feedback" on the store. Bullshit.

Anyone else have the feeling Big Brother's trying to just milk every fucking statistic out of the employees and customers in general? Makes me sick to my ass.

EDIT: Just found out that this Pebble network CANNOT be accessed by employees while off the clock, or it's grounds for termination. You know, that's disgusting me enough that I might have her start looking for somewhere else to go. There's got to be a line somewhere, and it needs to be drawn, while associates still have their dignity. :/

Best to waste the customer and the company's time by logging on while on the clock. I've come to learn that if something angers the customer, Kmart's probably looking into a way of doing it more efficiently.

A trip to a Target or Best Buy is a real treat to me, because it usually takes a trip to Morgantown, WV or another place about 50 or more miles away from my home to get to one. thats exactly how i felt about the new SHC gamers, i also feel like if theres a drop that everyone takes advantage of, makes alot of people go into kmart or a high TIV, kmart will notice this, with a click of the mouse, the deal is gone

I echo others concerns. Been doing the Kmart thread for years. And the thrill of the hunt along with the thrill of a simple list each month is starting to die with these corporate peoples. If you SHC (Sears Holdings People) start messing with the Sears clearance thread Ill be pissed. At first having them around seemed like a bonus but now Id rather they all go back to their offices and work on something else :)

I'm not that concerned. I think it actually saves a lot of time. you don't have to go through and scan tons of stuff. The thrill for me has always been walking out of the store with a game for a dollar and not scanning games for an hour. Oh and the look on the employee's face is part of the thrill for me too. A couple weeks ago a Sears employee tried to sell me a warranty on Viva Pinata that I was buying for $2.97!

Although, unless you've been reading, that's going out the window. Let me mention this one more time: Pebble is a social network FOR KMART EMPLOYEES, and CAG HAS BEEN MENTIONED ON THERE. I think very quickly, the expressions on the employees' faces are going to cease to be there, because they're going to watch this thread and grab it for themselves. If you consider that every employee of KMart is being asked to sign up, and maybe a third of those are gamers.. Yeah, I think I've all but given up on finding anything else at KMart.

I dropped my wife off this morning, and the bevel of clearance games that used to be in the electronics section are gone. They were stacked at the service desk with an employee receipt on top of them. This happens a day after the in-house signups begin? Not a coincidence, I think.

Thank you for the suggestion - we will try that next time. As for pricing, we will investigate - Clearance Cadences may start earlier on some titles than others based on stock on hand, manufacturer price drop dates, etc. so some may clearance quicker than others resulting in differential pricing.
 
Some of you guys are awfully fickle. A couple of weeks ago everyone was singing the praises of the SHC reps. Personally, I'm glad they're here, and I know that I have appreciated the work they've put into improving the game shopping experience at Kmart. Think about it: we had reps from corporate HQ making contact with our local stores to make sure the $29.99 sale a couple weeks ago was active for us! That's a great improvement over the way things were, imo.

Keep up the good work, SHC crew.
 
"Improvement" is relative. Keep in mind that this is a "clearance" thread, and half the fun is looking for things where nobody else knows where it is. While I'm okay with one SHC rep here, two is pushing it and three just makes me uncomfortable. Before you know it, the enjoyment of finding KMart clearance items will be gone, because the employees will scoop everything up first. Hell, half the people in this thread work for the company. And I know if I was in their position, I'd do the same thing. More exposure isn't always a good thing..
