My thoughts exactly. Dont know if you guys have played around with the alternate jerseys but they have some good ones. The padres have their camo but i dont think the twins have their navy one. All teams have the new spring training/batting practice two colored jerseys that i love so much
The Twins have their navy jerseys.

I'm terrible at this game, for some reason. I lost five in a row against the CPU, scoring a total of 6 runs, and giving up about 60. I don't really know what else I can do--I have the pitch timing down and everything, the batters are just jacking my shit around like I'm tossing batting practice. Also, it seems like every time I hit the ball, I get completely robbed. In one game, I got three home runs pulled back into the park, had four gap-shots snagged by flying leaps, and witnessed about half-a-dozen highlight-reel infield plays. It was ridiculous.

Other than that, I'm loving this game. I just might have to play on Rookie for a few games.

Ok, a few things I noticed:
- TOO MANY HR'S robbed. (Real life...we see maybe 1 a month)
- Can you break up double plays? (I slide into the second baseman and I went RIGHT THROUGH HIM)
- Can you check swing with Classic Batting? (Button press batting)

MORE Glitches reported on Operation Sports
- Roster Glitch (same as last year) - Basically, if a player gets injured, the CPU forgets to bring them back. Example, Jeter was injured for 2 weeks, after 3 weeks he is still in the minors.
- The downloaded rosters are WRONG. They dropped a 0 from the salary, thus making them useless for franchise people.

Sounds like 2K screwed up franchise AGAIN.

More issues
- Outfielders still seem to have too strong of arms....my runner kept getting thrown out at second with a hit to the outfield.
I guess I can kick up running speed, and lower fielders arm strength.

Thus, sliders will have to be changed...which I think makes Achievments useless. Although, it appears Achievements don't work anyways.
WOOT, $48 at Fry's today!
good deal if u have a fry's near by...i'm i n the Sf area, so the closest FRY's is in palo alto. so i just opted to pay $49.99 at BB, rather than
use the extra gas to drive the 80+miles back and forth

Yeah, I don't understand why Fry's doesn't have more of an SF presence.

I live in Newark and work in SJ, so at any given time during the week I'm near one of 5 Fry's in the area, LOL.

Oh, and the BB's near me suck when it comes to coupon printouts, so that wasn't an option for me. :(

you're lucky lol

sf area doesnt have a fry's, walmart, or TRU...its all down the peninsula...the last TRU they had here is replaced now with a 2nd BB recently so i guess thats good...its never busy, so i get in and out there quick, unfortunately they dont have any older games for the clearance deals

crazy how all the SF people surfaced on this thread all of a sudden.

Picked up MLB 2k7 at the East Palo Alto BB after the $10 off and a $20 GC from buying a new 360. Great game, can't wait to play more.

I changed Joe Young's name to Barry Bonds but Miller/Morgan still call him Joe Young. I guess I can live with that...

kinda OT, but how do i sign on invisible into xbox live without people on my friends list knowing? i'm "taking off" today to play more 2k7 and i dont want my them to know lol. anyone know if i can change these settings? anyways anyone up for some online play?

So, am I the only one with issues with certain aspects of the game? (see previous page).

- Rosters
- Collision Detection
- OF Arms
- Achievement Issues

I agree with the too many home runs being robbed but it hasn't been that bad for me. I haven't broken up a double play but I have got in the way of the SS. I do also agree with 2K messing up the rosters I don't understand why they can't get things like that right. Achievement wise if you play on Pro you get the achivements no problem. If you mess with the sliders you don't get the ones that say you have to beat them on pro or higher.

i can't hit the god damn ball for some reason. What the hell am i doing wrong any advice for trying to guess the pitches? I guess i'm just being impatient.

Really enjoyed the demo, batting was fun, but difficult. The graphics on the players and cloth physics are stunning, but the crowds and stadiums are lacking.

this game rocks, dont care what all you bashers are saying is just awespome try playing it on a 50 plasma and you will see why ...:bouncy:

I got a trivia achievment 5 points for answering a questions about the yankees, does anyone know if this will happen on everygame or just once?

I increased difficulty to All Star and changed a bit on the sliders and still got achievements (wall climbing catch and 3 double plays)

As for the game, I enjoy it, alot. I don't really have any complaints thus far. Is it MVP 05? Nah, but its still a great game, which is being treated very unfairly by the reviews out thus far. Its not a 9, but its certainly better than a 7.5-7.9.

You will NOT get an achievement twice....no game has that. The trivia question will give you tokens though.

As for is it "MVP 05....nah" comment. MVP came out, what THREE years ago. You think they would get it right by then....

I'm not bashing 2K7, but it's like we are settling for less. The roster issue makes the game unplayable for me, as franchise is the mainstay for me. I'll still battle through it unless i get completely annoyed and go back to MVP 05.

It's what (cross-platform) exclusivity does for your sport. It may take the better part of this generation to get baseball back to the MVP '05 level of excellence, if it happens at all.

MLB 2K6 was apparently so subpar last year that the 'decent' nature of this game is something some people are celebrating, and that's just wrong. Gaming shouldn't be a Mad TV "Lowered Expectations" bit.

Does anyone find that Barry Bonds name is JOE YOUNG in the game (which is a reference to Mighty Joe Young, a big giant ape). I thought somenoe would be up in arms about this, some political group.

Aren't most of the other fake players in the game at least have the same initials. Like Darius Miles is Dice K for Boston (I can't spell his last name).

ive been playing online and its way too easy...what setting is it on? too many hr's, i probably scored 16 runs and hit 7 hr's in the last game i played

You can't get the achievements that say do this on certain difficulty if you mess with the sliders. That's what I read on a few forums anyway.

I do think people are still hung up on MVP, just like people who claim Madden has the exclusive contract and still hasnt come close to NFL2K series.

People wont let these things go but they should. Its over, deal with it. Stop comparing MLB2K7 to MVP and compare MLB2K7 to MLB2K6. Is it a much better game? Yes. Its not a rehash and they are trying their best to do the license justice. If you dont like that, well go play on ur xbox and play MVP online.

I was a huge MVP fan but i like my game to be as current to rosters as possible. Yes you can update your roster on MVP but when you see Damon with long hair and a red sox hat its just not cool. Not to mention you have no way of bringing in guys like Cano to the yankees.

Also Joe Young is a real name, someone even said in this thread(Eric Young was it) that he has a cousin named Joe Young. Does that mean his parents thought he was a big ape when he was born? No, its just a name >_>. Also no offense to your cousin eric i was just trying to get my point across.

This game is becoming more and more of a dissapointment to me as I play it. It is completely unrealistic (minus the very nice graphics).

As said before the robbing of HR's is WAY to frequent. I have never seen so many outside pitches pulled for HR's and far inside pitches hit for Opp. Field shots either.

As for playing on xbox live? What a joke. I remember you could get some good low scoring games going with MVP 05. Every single game of 2k7 on live turns into a HR hitting contest.

I am becoming extrememly dissapointed in how this game has turned out.
I do think people are still hung up on MVP, just like people who claim Madden has the exclusive contract and still hasnt come close to NFL2K series.
Thank you. MVP is dead. Get over it. You got this, or MLB '07. Take your pick. I got to play it today, and it's pretty good. Player animations (at least those I have seen on the Braves) are spot on. HR swings even for guys like Brian McCann are pretty accurate.

I've not robbed a HR, but I hit 5 HR in a game. That may take a little slider adjustment, but nothing horrible. Game looks great, and plays pretty good too. I give it an 8 thus far. Maybe with some more time, I can give it a more detailed score.

I like that you can edit players, so Barry Bonds is now in. Besides Dice K, anyone else I need to change?

Rafael Belliard needs to go to the Nats as well.

For you roster junkies, 2Ksports did a good job with scabs and prospects this year. Basically, almost all the fake players are based on real life players. Just look at the initials for the first and last name and you can guess who it's going to be. For example, there's a pitcher on the Yankees who's first and last name have the initials PH (which is the Yankees top prospect Philip Hughes). Another example is that the FA list (or Rangers roster if you downloaded the roster update) has a player with the initials SS (who is Sammy Sosa).

Some other guys I noticed are:

Daisuke Matsuzaka (Red Sox)
Brendan Donnelly (Red Sox)
Hideki Okajima (Red Sox)
Kei Igawa (Yankees)
Kevin Millar (Orioles)

MVP may be dead but I think when you have maybe the greatest baseball game of all time it sucks when you have to settle for less. I have the PS3 version of MLB2k7 and I love it. It is a great game. It is not as good as MVP but I have little faith that a game will ever be made to top that one. I hate exclusivity. It screwed everyone in football and baseball. It makes absolutely no sense. But since we all have no choice in the matter I guess we have to just eat whatever they throw at us and be happy:)

I'll still triumph Sony's MLB series for best hardball game the past 3 years (including this year). Love it. MVP still has the sweet gameplay, even if it's not a pro game anymore. I always thought the WSB/2K games were overrated. The Saturn version of World Series Baseball '98 is still one my favorite games of all time, however.
You can't get the achievements that say do this on certain difficulty if you mess with the sliders. That's what I read on a few forums anyway.
Same issues with the other 2k games out there, especially NHL2k7.
I know Joe Young is a "real" name, but EVERY other scab in the game has the same initials. Thus, Barry Bonds should be Bill Boggs or Bobby Bigtits. I just found the name ironic.

As for people settling since MVP is dead....kinda sucks. I was never really against exclusivity so much, but now starting to annoy me. I actually find Madden a bit more playable over 2K7 Baseball. I guess I'm a big franchise guy, and the little glitches annoy me.

But, I own 2K7, and I enjoy it....just need some time to grow into it.
Same issues with the other 2k games out there, especially NHL2k7.
I completely messed with the sliders for this game and i stll got the achievements with ease.
The Saturn version of World Series Baseball '98 is still one my favorite games of all time, however.
Can't agree more... along with MVP but I'm still enjoy 2k7 a lot.
Any news on manual roster updates? Browsing the 2K forum, and no one seems to have anything done yet.
www.operationsports.com has a few rosters

DO NOT USE THE 2K DOWNLOADED ROSTERS!!!! THEY ARE CORRUPT FOR FRANCHISE PLAY (salaries are missing a "0")

Franchise is still broke as the computer lineups always get screwed up

They better release a patch to fix the franchise mode.

Im really loving the pitching as i get more and more used to it. Getting a strikeout with a perfectly spotted payoff pitch is pure gold. The catcher position to the recommended pitch, it feels alot more authentic. For the first time in any baseball game ever, i enjoy pitching the most in the game.

Base running seems to be real nice as well, i like how they show the number of bases you are going for, where as in other baseball games you could clearly have a triple but for some reason stop at second.

For the announcers, i love it! It feels like im hearing a real baseball game out there. Plus i hear their voices from when i really watch the baseball games unlike how it was in other baseball games, so that adds to the authentic feel for me.

As for batting though, i dont quite get it yet. Batters eye seems to work really nicely, because if you are looking for a pitch in a certain spot and see it coming you will get alot more wood on the ball. I guess with more practice ill get better at it. People who have been having home run contest would beat me down since i strikeout more often than i hit homeruns.
Played a game as the Angels at home. That fountain/spring/sex cove thing in center field looks neat.
Awesome, may have to purchase the game just to see that! :)

Won't happen...the same problem was there LAST year also. 2K apparently does nto know how to do AI stuff for rosters.

This worries me for 2K8 Football (although, since it's ficticious, it shouldn't matter as much).

I just cannot believe they screwed up franchise again....and screwed up downloadable rosters.

This sucks for hardcore franchise people (as I hate people baseball over LIVE).
so umm dont ppl complain on their forums or something.. dont they address the issues?

so the downloadable rosters arent any good?
People complained last year....they basically don't know how to program that stuff apparently. They don't test their games very well.

- The downloadable rosters are horrible if you want to use franchise. Basically, instead of a player making $1,000,000 it would be $100,000 (which is a BIG issue for me as I LOVE franchise in sports games)

Just check out www.operationsports.com for Glitches and GOOD Roster updates.

started a cubs franchise so far I'm only 3 game in. I'm 2-1. And I agree with homeruns being to easy. 1st game I hit 3 with soriano. Next game I didn't hit any with soriano, but had 2 with Lee and 2 with Barrett. Then the 3rd game I hit 2 with lee again and 2 with soriano. Soriano and lee are leading the league in home runs. #1 and #2.

The pitching in this game is a nice draw for me. I love that it feels like the AI of the catcher is really working with you to strike the guy out.

Really love the game, only thing that pisses me off is how often home runs can get robbed. I highly doubt that 5 home runs being robbed is normal in most actual games. So annoying.

I'm liking this game sofar, for the most part. My only complaint is the lack of head tracking...it looks absolutely RIDICULOUS when a batter is looking the opposite direction of where the ball is hit, or when the outfielders are making all of these "no look" catches. It's not a game-killer, but still disappointing considering we're talking about next gen systems here.
