In all fairness, Rogers doesn't deserve another chance. In his first 2 seasons, he played a total of like 4 games and messed up his shoulder, which resulted in missing the majority of those 2 years. And then last year, he missed time due to a substance abuse violation. So in 3 years time, he's played a full seasons worth of games, at best.

Not sure what the Lions are doing with Mike Williams, he has the ability to be the #1 WR, but if they drop him, hopefully the Bucs are waiting in the wings to try and sign him, as he was Gruden's other top player in the '05 draft.

Rogers deserves a chance since he hasn't got to play. But, he needs it elsewhere. He has a horrible attitude it seems, but maybe because he is 4th string right now. The injuries were not his problems....broken collarbone TWICE. He started GREAT in his rookie year. Then, they rushed him back it seems since he had the EXACT same injury.

The substance abuse is not tolerable though....plus, 1 more and he is Ricky Williams' ;)

So yes, I'd rather see them keep BMW over Rogers.
Looks like Portis seperated his shoulder. Might be time to re-think my preseason prediction about the 'Skins.
They looked like garbage. As much as I liked Todd Collins when he played for my alma mater, Michigan, the guy should just retire after last night.

I was happy to see Chris Henry get into the end zone last night. All that running from the cops in the off-season really looks to have improved his routes.

Did you see that play by Mario Williams...oh yeah, nothing. But, did you see that 40 yard run by Bush....nice. I still wonder who was high when the Texans made their draft pick.

Man, RB Kerry Carter tore his ACL and MCL and is out for the year for the 'Skins. I saw that play and he kneee just gave way with no contact. Freak accident. I had a feeling that might have been a season-ender.

Anyone see that kid Cromartie from SD? That kid is raw, picked off Rodgers with some skill.

Word from some people is that C. Johnson's idea behind the soap opera is that everytime he scores a TD, he'll do something then stop, leaving it at a 'climax', then concluding it the next time he scores the week after.

Chad is a character if nothing else. The gold mohawk was....different.
Man, that play bummed me out.
I love how Portis is whining about the preseason system being the cause for his injury, instead of not trying to go all out to tackle the guy. He doesn't really do well at the beginning of the season anyway, so it's not that big of a deal if he misses a few games.

The new MNF look is nice, with the "less is more" approach. I haven't had much time to watch and see if the new crew is good or not. I know Kornheiser's on the crew, but who else is on there? I think I here Lee Corso, but I don't remember him being on the crew.

Mike Torico and Joe Theismann.

Ahhh, thanks for the correction. It's been good so far. I loved when Tony points out the new referee uniforms that make them look like penguins.

Leinart just signed with the Cards for 6 years at $50.8 million (I believe they said $14 guaranteed). I'm hoping to see him get some playing time by the end of camp.

He didn't pick him off. GB and SD channels had different cameras and on the GB angle, it showed it pretty clearly that he was bobbling the ball and never had control until his body stopped moving out of bounds. I have to say that for his first night broadcasting, Rich Gannon was great with room for improvement.
tuiasosospa gets no love in oakland. 3rd stringer again.
That's because he sucks. He nearly gave up the ball to Minnesota with that fumble. Walter was playing very well before he couldn't make make a pass.

Jackson for the Vikings was playing very well. Maybe he could be making his way to the starting positions sooner rather than later, depending on how well this season goes for the Vikings.

edit: and no doubt tuia sucks, i just thought he would be 2nd stringer by now.

I think the only reason he is 3rd string is because Kerry Collins is still on the roster, atleast I think he still is.

Wow. I'd give that about a 1% of actually happening. Arizona's almost a perfect place for him to be drafted by.

Nope. Andrew Walters and Aaron Brooks are ahead of him. He just hasn't played well at all whenever he's gotten the chance to take over the starting job and with more promising guys coming into the organization, he's easily getting passed over.

i cant believe he was the last one to sign...he missed most of camp so only if warner gets hurt he will go in. i hate when players who are drafted this late get diva on teams. i gotta give love to tom condon...he is the only man to get leinart this deal at this pick..whittner nor huff or even hawk could get that much and they are most likeley going to start. he will probably end up being good but i still hate the diva thing..rant over

Oakland LOVES Andrew Walter. That is what Tuai is 3rd String.

I thought MNF was ok. I HATE that Tony guy. He tries to point out everything negative. He is just one of those people who likes to debate.

Oh well....

What do you expect from a former, assuming he is former, Washington Post columnist and the co-host of Pardon the Interuption, a show where he....you guessed it has to debate.

If someone can't handle criticism, whether negative or not, they should grow a pair and deal with it. You can't always have the commentators kissing everyones ass. I say bring back Dennis Miller.

Oh yeah...he was the PTI guy. I wonder what happened to those people on the show. Did they stop doing it?

I just think he is annoying. He looked out of place in the booth. Oh well....at least Minnesota went for it at the end, that was nice.

I think he will be on PTI Tuesday-Friday, unless of course MNF is in DC. Dan LeBettard (or whatever his name is) filled in for Tony yesterday.

Kornheiser was fantastic. He's the reason I might actually stay up to watch the second half this season. Pop culture references, heavy sarcasm and burying people when they suck makes a perfect broadcast.

Tony is awesome in that job, this has to be the best cast in MNF since at least Cosell, and finally Tirico got his due, he's an awesome announcer.

BAM!

I love it when he does that.

Koren Robinson arrested.

...
Robinson, a former first-round draft pick whose promising career with Seattle was derailed by alcohol problems, was charged Wednesday in Nicollet County with fleeing from police, a felony, along with two drunken driving charges and three other misdemeanors. The criminal complaint said a field test measured Robinson's blood-alcohol content at 0.11 percent.

Chained at the ankles, he appeared at a brief court hearing wearing an orange jail jumpsuit. After posting $50,000 bail, Robinson left with his wife, Joy, a friend and his attorney, Joe Tamburino. He smiled, but didn't respond to questions from reporters.

There is more in the link. I just posted a snippet.

Wow that's an awesome deal it seems for everyone, can Duckett play the FB seeing as how Clinton Portis is their RB even though he's injured?

...owns for my broncos but i have to make trades on madden 07 already...sucks, sucks even more that i gotta do it on a psp and ps2. My ps2 is running out of mem card space

It's called having DEPTH. IT appears Portis may not be ready for the beginning of the season. They needed a RB.

and then they showed y reggie bush wont carry the saints to the playoffs this year :D. bush will be great RB but i understand y the texans took williams. one of the reason is that any RB that fits into Kubiak's zone blocking system can succeed (check the first 2 games, yes i know its fucking preseason). one cut and go style.

In all fairness though, neither pick is going to lead their team to the playoffs this year.

agreed...both teams drafted for the future anyway. if they wanted to win now then they would have made a deal for rent a players. I hope mario williams doesnt pan out to be a andre wadsworth or a erik flowers.those guys had promising careers but never made it in the NFL...hope mario gets the freeny path to success

or courtney brown.

Wtf Kevan Barlow is calling Mike Nolan a dictator? Good riddance, hope you really make something with that 3.5 YPC Kevan.
Duckett on my Redskins =
You better hope Portis gets well soon. You got Bettis Jr there. If Bettis was overweight, didn't have a work ethic, and his asthma made him fall down after eight yards.

Falcons also signed Grady Jackson and his four bills.
