ALLEN PARK, Mich. (Dec. 19, 2006) -- Detroit Lions assistant coach Joe Cullen was suspended by the NFL for his team's game against the Chicago Bears for two arrests -- one for drunken driving and one for nude driving. He also was fined $20,000 in addition to the one-week suspension.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell cited the defensive line coach for conduct detrimental to the league, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said.
The Lions suspended Cullen from the season opener against Seattle. But Cullen met with Goodell on Dec. 1 in New York and the commissioner decided a one-game suspension wasn't enough.
Cullen was pulled over Aug. 24 in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn and ticketed on suspicion of indecent and obscene conduct after police said he was driving nude. The Lions said alcohol was involved.
On Sept. 1, police stopped his vehicle and determined he had a blood-alcohol content of 0.12 percent, according to court records. The legal limit for drivers in Michigan is 0.08 percent.
The misdemeanor cases have been adjourned until Jan. 11 to allow Cullen to complete counseling.

What. The. fuck. NUDE DRIVING!?

Normally I'd agree with that, but the truth is that the NFC is just so weak at QB (and everything else) he actually deserves to be up there. Beside's Brees there is not much going. Maybe if Hasselback or McNabb didn't get hurt.

Stat of the Week No. 6: Chris Weinke is 1-17 as a starter.
This is exactly why i hate weinke. you think by now Fox would have thought about picking up a decent backup QB for when they move on from Jake. I mean i like Jake and all he's just not a franchise player.

His 1 win....his first start against my awesome Vikings

How did Brian Westbrook get left off of the Pro Bowl?

How did Romo get in the Pro Bowl?

Also, why do they vote before the regular season is over?

I looked up the qb's from the NFC and romo does look like a better choice for the pro-bowl then the others that were left out.
TO didn't get in and he leads recievers in TD's and I believe he has over 1000 yards (or is very close).
i heard on espn that he was like top 3 in fan voting but hardly got any votes from the players and coaches.

He didn't get in because of everything else about him. Whether fair or not, people are just tired of him no matter what he does on the field.

He also led the league with 15 dropped passes.

they broadcast them in the two teams region but my brothers didn't get a chance to see the niner game last week. But they are somewhat far from frisco so maybe they were just out of reach of the region.

Yea because being 5-2 in the playoffs and having one of the top playoff passer ratings of all time means that you are garbage.

He is also a master of the fourth quarter comeback and has more than Brady does.

Instead of pointing at Jake and placing blame his way, why not actually evaluate the team instead of putting it all on the QB? They lost two offensive linemen the first week, no Dan Morgan, and the defense can't stop anyone when it counts.

If they get rid of Jake this offseason or bring in someone for him to groom as a replacement I will no longer be a fan of the Panthers and will go back to only being a Cowboys fan. Anyone who can't respect what he has done for this team since taking over can't be satisfied.

Also Wienke won a game last year for the Panthers, so he is not horrible. He is just leading a team whose been flat out horrible since the Cowboys game.

And my two questions so far of the night is:

A) How the hell did Tom Brady NOT make the Pro Bowl game?

B) Does anyone on the Vikings D know how to... you know... NOTICE AN OPEN RECEIVER ON THE PACKERS OFFENSE BEFORE THEY GET A BALL THROWN TO THEM?????

They haven't figured it out yet this year, so I don't think they will start tonight. Sort of like Williamson isn't going to figure out how to catch a ball. He is terrible.

This Vikings Packers game is like watching the Special Olympics Bowl. Hey look now its even complete with some guy taking off his shirt while the rest of the crowd sits bundled up looking at him like he's an idiot!

I don't think they will get rid of Jake because of what he has done in the past for the organization and this has really been the only season in which he has struggled at times. You have to give the guy the benefit of the doubt (although his mistakes have been bad). Say what you will about the rest of the team (and you are right, they haven't played great), but Jake has made some truly horrible decisions that ultimately cost his team the game and those are his and his alone.

However, if they do look into drafting his eventual replacement it may be a wise move. Jake is 31, and while that doesn't make him an "old" quarterback, he certainly isn't young anymore. If they can get a (alleged) talented QB in the draft I think it may be smart to do so. It'll be a better option than Chris Weinke (who just sucks) if Jake does struggle or gets hurt next year. And if Jake does stay healthy it allows the new QB to sit and learn. By the time the new guy is ready to take over full-time Jake will in all likelihood be entering the twilight of his career and will be ready to be the veteran back-up that teams need.

Replacing Jake next year is a mistake. However, drafting a young QB to serve as their back-up and successor is (in my opinion) a smart move, assuming there's a QB worth taking.

I think this game is missing one thing there RedvsBlue:

Oh wait.... I think that Packer who blew that catch on the kickoff IS that guy above. ;)
So are both teams doing that horrible?
Yep both are terrible. And the NFC is so bad that the winner of this game still has a shot at the Playoffs.
Yep. Except the Packers have at least been lucky to get 2 out of 4 field goals. The first botched field goal is damn hillarious.
Yeah, that guy is lucky he didn't crack his crack.

Bwa-ha-ha-ha! I love it when I'm right. All these idiots were trying in vain to lay all of the Vikings offensive troubles on the QB when it is readily apparent to anyone that the offense as a whole is abyssimal. Brad was doing the best he could with the cards he was being dealt. So we come to tonight and different QB, same result. Maybe now they'll wake up and smell the coffee.

Still, I wish the Vikings would have won. Mostly because I despise Fahv-ray (shame on Brett not being able to pronounce his own name right) and the fact that every commentator in the country want to suck both him and Tom Brady off at every opportunity.

It wasn't just Brad, but Brad was sucking pretty bad as well.

whoa whoa whoa calm down, i think you must have misinterpreted my post. I am most certainly NOT blaming Jake for anything this season. If i blame Jake for anything it's the complete turnaround of the team since the fateful season where they went 1-15. I know that Jake is a good quarterback, i know all about his fourth quarter prowess and his number of game winning drives. I know the Panthers problems begin with a myriad of injuries to key players, including the O-Line and the defensive leadership. I know that they lost a number of good guys in the secondary last year, (like Ricky Manning jr.) and i know their biggest problem steams from too much of a one dimensional game plan and an ineffective running game. Believe me, i am NOT blaming Jake. I just don't think he's a franchise player, meaning he won't be around for a long time, lets face it, he's not going to play for another 100 years like Brett Farve. He's already 31 years old and has been in the League for 8. He suffered Ligament damage to his throwing hand and while that won't end a career, if he pushes to hard and too fast, it could become a career problem. I'm not saying that they need to replace him, in fact i think that would be a terrible move. But they need a backup to be a backup, someone who would learn from Jake and one day take the reigns and Chris Weinke is not that man. /rant

Brad Johnson or Brad Childress? Honestly... I think Childress should be damn fired. Sorry, but he damn clueless as to how a team should be run. Instead of trying to have different plays run he kepted doing the same things over and over again to the same results. At least Mike Tice tried something once in a while compared to Childress. Speaking of Mike Tice where is he anyways?

As far as Brad Johnson is concerned I think its time to hang it up. He's won his Super Bowl ring and is well off money wise. Even with how bad this season was I had respect for Brad for being a great QB all these years. :applause:

Sorry if you took my post as anger directed towards you. I just hate how someone does a good job and people are so quick to get rid of him. Same thing with Plummer (he may not have had the stats, but he was winning and they threw him over the bus because they started playing shitty defense and losing). It just seems like everyone is out to get him lately and I read your post as taking a shot at his ability.

I do agree they should look into getting a quality backqup. Personally I would rather see LeFors play than Weinke.

\\:D/ \\:D/ \\:D/

What an awesome day for me so far!

A) Scored at CC:
- Supernatural Season 1
- Castlevania Portrait Of Ruin DS
- A $10 giftcard from a coworker. :D

B) Won $4 off of a Powerball lotto ticket. I bought one on a whim. Yeah its not much but its better than losing that dollar completely.

C) Patriots = AFC East Champs!!!!

D) Homicide = ROH World Champ!!!!

I'm so freakin happy right now. :D
Wow, the Colts finished their AFC South campaign at 3-3. Talk about insane. And they lost to the Texans for the first time ever.
and the texans win was satisfying. Ron Dayne ran all over that pathetic joke of a run defense of the Colts.
Can't believe the Bengals special teams...fucking up a snap to tie the game.
Yeah that was horrible. I think some of the calls in the game were pretty questionable as well. The Broncos got quite a few freebies because of "pass interferences" that would have had no impact on the play.

no problem, i just wanted to go on record as a Jake supporter not a Jake hater (which i will never be) i'd rather see anyone play then weinke but it was good to see them march to a victory today (though i think a big part was because they only let Weinke throw the ball 7 times.
