Wow...that's crazy. Not sure I want to know what she did to buy food...Well , if games were TOO good, then we'd have problems like this.
Haha, yeah. The Preds actually have bands that play at the games during the intermissions. They put them on the jumbotron and everything. It's pretty cool.Nate, they need to book you to play a set at Tootsie's over All-Star Weekend.
Yup. It's kind of funny how the CAG Hockey Team was fledgling for the first couple years, and it was just kind of this cool thing that we all wanted to do. Now...we all suffer through it...and the cool thing to do...is each other.Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well Nate!! Happy Thanksgiving to everybody else as well!! Except Dr. Pizza.
Looking back, it's been almost 9 years since we started. We are quite a family!!
FTFYCan I talk you all into something horrible that you're going to regret in the morning?
So...basically, they're delusional about what they think they programmed. He seems to legitimately believe the AI does things with intent and reacts to situations. If this were true, we'd see consistency in it. Like if you're down 2-0 late in the game, the AI would naturally get extra aggressive...making them more susceptible to penalties or giving up breakaways...but also going all out trying to score. When do they think this happens? As you have said, there are a lot of things going on, so I can't really get into all of them situation by situation. All I can say is that the intention is for them to play like living and breathing hockey players.
They have standard positioning based on strategy and they will react to where the puck moves, etc.. Sometimes based on who the player is and their ratings/player type/tendencies, they may be more aggressive to step up into the high slot for a one timer (if you passed earlier, it may have been a good closer one time option since the defender was skating away from him - hard to say). Sometimes you will even see a weak side defender sneak in back door if they feel the chance is there.
If the AI isn't doing something you expect it is probably as you said, the same reason a human isn't doing something you expect, they read the play wrong (or different from you) and end up backing up when you thought they should stay, or driving in further when you thought they should back up. It would be great if you could yell at them from the bench but that is a feature we have yet to implement.
An AI team will change it's strategies based on situation and urgency levels but not based on anything else.
You can give your team an energy boost by winning a fight but that is clearly shown in the line change energy meters. There isn't anything else in there.
