Already raised $200 k though. They will for sure go over that as there is 26 days left. Hell, the $350 option is almost done!
It's funny because the beginning of the trailer says "all footage captured from actual gameplay"...but yet, yeah, it was 90% cutscenes. Maybe it's a fine line there...with between play, celebrations, replays, etc. still being considered "actual gameplay". But it definitely wasn't a "watching somebody play NHL" that it should be if they're going to call it actual gameplay.Maybe it's just me, but NHL looks too.. shiney. It looks almost all CG too, waiting to see actual game play.
Ah, must have not been paying attention at the beginning, didn't realize it actually was game play lol. I guess we just want to see what it actually looks like when one is actually playing the game, not these set up angles, moments, etc. It's funny because the beginning of the trailer says "all footage captured from actual gameplay"...but yet, yeah, it was 90% cutscenes. Yeah, I watched it again, and there's really probably only 25% of the trailer that you could argue somebody is actually "in control" of the player. To me, that's "actual gameplay". When the game takes over control and skates my guy around the rink celebrating or warming up...that may as well be CG. I'm not ready to fall for slick marketing just yet.Ah, must have not been paying attention at the beginning, didn't realize it actually was game play lol. It's kind of sad that everybody has grown so cynical of the series. And I'll give them some credit. Changing the announce team is a big deal. But a lot of this stuff is so overdue, the game still has a good chance to be lacking in areas. It's going to take A LOT of work to get this game back to a good place. It'll be interesting as release gets closer to see if EA finally gets that or not.12:22 On to NHL 15. “Almost everything” is changing in the new version of the game. Will they be using brooms instead of hockey sticks and hitting bunny rabbits instead of pucks?
12:23 No, from the looks of the trailer they play us, “almost everything” looks like better graphics and improved stuff for highlight reels.
For NMS, I think it's procedurally generated, but not random. Dont really know how to explain it, but heres y best shot: There still an algorithm that everyone shares. in coordinate x1,y1, the game will always have biome B1 and atmosphere A1. In coordinate x2,y2, it will always have B1, A2, and so one. Again, I could be completeley wrong, but I think I remember reading that's how it goes.ABZU and No Man's Sky also looked really good. My brain can't really process how a "map" that big can exist in No Man's Sky...and be freaking procedurally drawn. They were flying in and out of each planet's atmosphere like it was nothing.
The Last of Us and GTA V going next gen was a no brainer. Releasing those so late in the previous gen was just unfortunate timing. And they'll both serve as decent stopgaps until the true next gen games are ready next year.
And if I'm understanding Playstation TV right, it basically allows you to stream your PS4 to any other TV in your house? I might actually have a use for that since I usually end up gaming at my desk since the living room TV is usually tied up (this problem led to owning 2 Xbox 360s this past gen).
Good news.Really hope GTA5 comes to PC this year
This is almost like people being too invested in iPhone to switch to Android. We've got Dance Central with most of the DLC...not to mention Rock Band with like 400 DLC songs. Harmonix has already talked about having plans for a next gen Rock Band...and it seems reasonable to expect them to use a similar formula...small downloadable game with 10-15 songs, and then support it with Legacy DLC they already have...in addition to adding new DLC.And here's some great news: Legacy DLC will be supported. If you've ever purchased DLC for Dance Central, you'll get the Spotlight version for free when it is released, complete with the 8 routines.
But man, went from a day one to a three month wait cause of this!! :eyeroll:http://www.joystiq.com/2014/06/11/nhl-15-missing-94-anniversary-mode-on-xbox-one-ps4/
Also, I agree with this. They definitely half-assed it. If they did it right...with the old graphics and gamplay, buth with current teams/rosters...people would have a reason to play it (or even pay extra for it as DLC).I mean, I don't care either way and they half-assed it so it's not like we are missing out on much. But if they think that mode (if done right) would be more for casual players of NHL, then they are totally clueless.
Yeah, I could see that. I don't have a problem with it as long as the physics makes sense. For instance, the fact that Kane is doing the deke shouldn't make it impossible for me to interfere with his stick. But the move itself probably looks about as natural as they can make it. The hit looks reasonable to me as well...assuming that "size matters".Now that I think about it...the fact the someone basically re-created the trailer with last year's game makes me wonder how much of the animations are recycled from last year. The hit at :44 and the deke at the end are pretty much identical
Well, Matt is there with you. Brandon as well...but if you're talking NHL 15, yeah...I'm assuming most of us will be going Xbox One at this point. I was probably 95% decided on PS4...but then Harmonix had to pull their "Oh, remember all that DLC you bought? We're going to honor it on the new system." And I'm all like "Oh...well...that's really nice of you. Now I have to get an Xbox One...assholes" lol.Reading this thread makes me think I'm going to be all by myself on the PS4.

Oh, EA...you can't just not talk, can you? They seriously keep upping the ante every year. Now, not only does the game incorporate science...but it's based on the work of world renowned particle physicists, lol. So, if it's still bad, I get to go heckle this guy now? Deal. With the improved puck physics, will we no longer see the 'beach ball' effect on dump-ins - much like NHL 14?
- The puck is one of the most complex objects in all of sports. It is so complex that we literally hired a physicist who worked on the hadron collider in Geneva to help rebuild our puck physics. To answer your question - the ‘beach ball’ dump-in is gone but you will still see unpredictable puck reactions through Real Puck Physics just like in a real NHL game.
