He means the live stats. I remember that as well. I wonder if it's for the play mode now. I'm starting to think hand eye is very important for tip ins as I was playing a drop in as LW and everyttime the LD shot it, I'd get the goal for a deflection or tip in. LD got mad and started to say I was stealing his goals. Also, Thursday night I'll be on as I have a week vacation.
Yeah, I think most of us have been putting hand eye pretty high for years. It's supposed to help with pass reception as well (though this year, I feel like that's influenced more by a person's passing rating...as I had my hand eye maxed out at one point and was still bobbling passes).

I had my fightning and strength maxed out and look how that turned out. One Punch knock outs on me still. :p
That's because EA doesn't know shit about fighting. I can't wait to see the "Fight Night Engine" in the new UFC game. If Dana White didn't like EA before, wait until they fuck up his new game, lol.

Any of you HUT players have a LD>RD training card you'd be willing to trade? I've got a bunch of LD, but not a whole lot of good RD, so I'd like to move one of them over.

I can play any time from now until 1 AM EST if anyone is interested. Can't be up too late tonight. We're taking Skylar to the zoo for the first time tomorrow. Should be a fun day.

This game just got horrible with the misconduct call.
Yup. Like I said last night, if people want to bitch that they paid money and should be allowed to play, fine. Bring them back as an AI. But when you let the maxed out hitting goon back in the game, it just gives him more opportunities to injure players on the other team. It's stupid.

Here's a patch fix that will make some of you happy:
Um...it didn't seem like that helped last night, haha. I mean, Gary and Brandon won a few fights, but it still felt like the spammers got their share as well.

What's really dumb is that EA apparently can't grasp that almost anything they add to the game, they need to ask themselves if it can be spammed. I don't care what it is, make a 1-2 second delay before you can do it again where you're vulnerable. Punching, stick lifts, calling for the pass, even poke checking. If they're going to waste time trying to patch this stuff afterward, why not just prevent basically everything in the game from being able to be spammed?

This is basically what I picture the douchebag teams doing when we play them, lol.

On a side note, I had 40k worth of pucks, yeah awesome! Put a bid for Marty of 36k and got out bid. Ok, cool no problem........my pucks are now gone and not returned. It's such bullshit and EA wont do shit. Im so angry about it as I was really getting into HUT till this happened. Makes me not even want to play hut anymore. Non sense EA.

Man, I just saw Gone Home is on sale on Steam today for $9.99. God, I hate PC sales because I always feel like they can/will be better. 50% off isn't 75% off...and 75% off isn't a bundle. It gets me to the point where I feel like if I'm not paying $1 or less, I'm getting ripped off, haha. Alan, help me out here. I'm really considering this to see if it will work with the Rift. Do you think it would be a good Rift game?

Ah, nevermind. It looks like the developer was considering adding Rift compatibility back in August, but it doesn't seem like anything has come of it. And I read on a forum that people were having trouble trying to force it to work with one of the 3D drivers. Without that temptation, I can probably hold off for a better sale.

In other news, Euro Truck has gotten native Rift support now (at least in beta form). I haven't tried it out yet though. I need to do that later.

I don't think the rift would be all that great just because of the fidelity of the assets being lost with the rift. A large portion of the game involves picking up things and reading/inspecting them, so if the graphics get downgraded, it would remove some of the immersion

Yeah, I actually read somebody else make that comment about things needing to be picked up and examined..and that a lot of the game would need to be reworked to not totally ruin the experience (someone came up with the idea of making it possible to zoom in on those objects you pick up...but of course, that would have to be done on the developer side).

This is probably just that transitional time where a lot of games were in development before knowing about the Rift or how it would catch on, and so they didn't make their game with the thought of accommodating it. I actually started feeling down about the Rift this past week because I was playing a lot of games that weren't natively supported, and the head tracking would start drifting, or the 3D wasn't right. And it started giving me that novelty feeling of "Oh, this is neat...but it's not really making the game any better."

Then, I went back and played some of the smaller games and the tech demos that were actually made with the Rift in mind, and man, it just makes a huge difference. The 3D is way better. The sense of scale is better. And the feeling of actually being in the environment is better. I think it's definitely just something that needs time to grow.

Considering the consumer version is still probably a year away, a lot of people have argued that it doesn't even really make sense for developers to add support to existing games since they'd basically be doing it for 30,000 people...and I think that's fair. But yeah, it's just too bad Gone Home didn't come 6 months later, because it probably could have been the perfect game for the Rift, if it was actually programmed for it.

Damn... That's shitty. I've never seen/heard of that happening.

So, I finally got around to trying out Euro Truck Simulator 2 (which is on sale on Steam today for $8.74 for anyone who would like to partake in some trucking goodness...still no multiplayer, sadly) with the new Oculus Rift beta support. And man, it's actually really good. Going back to what I was talking about earlier, I think it makes a huge difference when the game developer actually takes the time to reprogram things in the game to be compatible, rather than just forcing a game with simulated 3D and essentially turning the Rift into a mouse. SCS reworked the HUD so that it's more toward the lower center of the screen and can be toggled to be transparent or off entirely).

They also made the view inside the cabin 3D, so things like the steering wheel, shifter, seats, etc. actually look more realistic. I was just playing with an Xbox controller, but man, it felt really immersive and normal...like I was actually driving around in Italy. I even backed the truck in (took me a few tries of straightening out, but hey...I'm rusty, lol). I can only imagine what it will be like playing with a wheel and pedals with the Rift on. Now, if only they'd come out with an Ice Road Truckers expansion, haha.

Here, you go, Alan.

This guy played it way longer than I did, lol. I played for like 5 minutes and was like "Yeah, this is hard and I'm terrible."

Just looked at some live players on the hut auction and it has me wondering one thing. How can one person have 19 copies of one player that is a gold player for hut live on the hut auction. All of them were together so it wasn't like they had them hours apart.

Not sure if I'll be able to. Definitely wouldn't be on very late.

Also, I don't know if Matt (or anyone else) is still following the PC gaming side of this thread, but Bundlestars put up a pretty good bundle today.

http://www.bundlestars.com/all-bundles/Superpower-Sims-Bundle/#title244tab

9 games for $4. Granted, a lot of them are not the newest version of their respective franchise, but their requirements won't be as demanding either. But it's also a fairly cheap way to try out some atypical games (farming, trucking, and trains in particular).

I saw that, I was thinking of grabbing it just for Euro Truck and Trainz Sim 12.
They should be a good intro to those types of games. Trainz isn't the same as the Train Simulator 2014 series that gets updated every year, but for $4 ...that still seems like a pretty good deal. The GT games look interesting too.

I'll check in a little bit here and post if I do... There's probably a good chance I have at least one of them.

EDIT: I just checked and have Kurtz.

Oh nice. What would you want for him?
If you have anyone from Manchester or Rockford that'd be fine with me.

I only have a few for each, so if you have anyone who you feel is a fair trade that's fine with me.

Here are the players I don't need from the two teams.

Manchester : Toffoli, Campbell. Deslauriers, Backman

Rockford: Pirri, Kostka, Clendening, Away Jersey

If anyone else is looking for players to complete a collection let me know. I've only completed the GR Griffins, so I'm just buying packs and going from there.

EDIT: JZA, there's a Clark up right now that ends in 41 minutes that is sitting at 50 Pucks, and a couple of Stortini cards as well. One ends in 50 minutes and is at 200 starting, and another is a buy it now for 800.

If you want either of these but aren't around, let me know and I'll pick them up for you.

Only Manchester player I have came from a free pack and I don't have any Rockford players. Let me find a comparable player that I can trade and get back to you.

And thanks for the heads up on those two, managed to get a bid in using the app.

MVP, how about M.Ford on the Oklahoma City Barons or M.Connolly on the Lake Erie Monsters?
Connolly will work... I only have one Lake Erie player, but I have the rare jersey, so I should be able to get that collection in time.

I just put Kurtz in my trade pile and up for auction... It's listed at 16k start and 20k BIN for 1 day. My team name is MVPs Puckers.

Alright, I put Connolly up. Starting bid 4,000, BIN 11,100 should make it easy to find. Team name is Sharknados. I'll accept it once I get home from work.
