Money is weird. For $10, i was willing to jump in Goat Simulator, but for 15...a little hesitant. If I see some good gameplay besides those trailer,s i might jump in.

 
Man, hockey nights are so weird now. I'm pretty sure at least 3 weeks in a row we've won our first game of the night (and 2 weeks in a row we won our first 2 games)...and then things turn to shit. Almost every bounce goes against us after those first two games.

I told Alan that the new policy for hockey night should just be we start at 10pm et, and play until we lose...and then we switch to Steam so we won't hate ourselves, lol. We eventually did that last night, but I think it was too late, as we tried to get adventurous with our choices on Steam, and ran into some hiccups there too.

On the topic of Steam Night, we talked about planning ahead so we don't waste so much time deciding what to play. So, I put together a list of the games Alan, Brandon, and myself have. Obviously, if Rob joins or Gary or Matt are able to join us at some point, the list will shrink. But this gives us a place to start from, and might even help the newer Steam people if you're wondering what to buy that we could play together.

I think Sniper Ghost Warrior is competitive multiplayer only. I'd be up for any of those tonight, I guerss preference on the Paydays, Gmod and it's mods, left 4 Dead, Cry of  fuck-ing  Fear, Dead Island, or maybe try Takedown.

Haha...if we start our research now, maybe we can figure out why Cry of Fear boots people off the server randomly. I feel like when it's not doing that, the game is awesome. And just that stupid little obstacle...like, I want to beat it. I want to conquer that damn game and its creepy ass enemies.

And yeah, I figured with Sniper: Ghost Warrior. I just thought I'd put it on there in case we ever had the urge to run around and shoot each other in the face. Does it at least have an option for a private server? Or is it all like public ranked stuff?

Thanks for the list. I won't be on tonight due to the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, but it's good to know what games you have in common after Nate gave me a list of the free ones.

Interesting...so, it's server side then? Like you're getting desynced when it's trying to load the next level?

Also, I tried out the Demolition Derby in Grid 2. It's not actually a Derby in the traditional arena/drive around and smash each other sense. It's an actual race...on a figure 8 track, so chances of smashing into each other are pretty high, and you can destroy other cars and knock them out of the race. It doesn't seem tremendously different from other "takedown" modes...but it was still pretty fun. This is what I was expecting though:

Its a command for client side. Wouldnt hurt for everyone to do it tough. Its actually an old school command that was used alot in Counter Strike

Wow...and I wondered how EA would fuck the game up, lol. Although, didn't one of the older games have Tapout's PunkAss as a hidden character? But he was more of an underground figure that people who really know MMA would know. Putting Bruce Lee in the game kind of makes it feel gimmicky.

And yeah, I can understand the reasons to wait for the consumer version of the Rift. Allegedly, the acquisition by Facebook will make the consumer version "signifcantly cheaper", according to Palmer Luckey. What that means...and if it will come with any catches remains to be seen. But I think as long it remains fairly open source, the PC community will do amazing things with it.

That's part of the reason I'm a bit skeptical of Sony's Morpheus. I can't imagine they'll restrict it to PS4 only...but even if it's compatible with PC, I wonder what type of requirements it will need to work on both systems (though, being cross platform is probably more possible now than ever). But my money is still on the Rift.

 
Hmm,those ports look like the gmod ones, so I doubt that's the issue. Interesting that the validation error is server related. Explains why Brandon and I couldn't rejoin after restating. Worse case is we could try Hamachi, but yeah, definitely want to finish that game

Today is the last day for the amazon rockstar pc sale if anybody is interested in getting GTAIV or Max Payne 3 to screw around in.  I may pick up GTA just to play around in it.

Well, I didn't have 27020 open. For GMod, you only need 27015. Not sure what the second port does...or why the game needs it, but that is at least something different.

That's worth a shot then if you want to try it sometime this week.

I have Max Payne 3, but will probably pass in GTA, is hard to go back to open world driving after SRIV lol.
 
Yeah, I was thinking more of just screwing around in free roam rather than anything else for GTA.  They have the GTAIV CE and Max Payne 3 CE bundle for $10 that I was thinking about getting.

 
I've got both of them on 360...not really sure if I care enough to double dip.

I'm not even sure who that is he's fighting...but if EA follows the trend of not allowing weight classes to mix, he should be in the bantamweight/featherweight range. I'll say now though...if EA is going to advertise some bullshit like Bruce Lee fighting Jon Jones, then this game will be retarded.

Yeah, I agree. I never grabbed GTAV on Xbox (kinda came out when I was making my transition anyway)...but when it does come out on PC, I'd be likely to grab that.

Also, I did just grab Dirt 3 through steamtrades.com (you can get stuff for pretty cheap on there...with people just wanting to trade for TF2 keys. It ended up costing me less than $5), since I was the odd man out on that one. So, now I can add that to our games in common list.

Yeah...it's from the same publisher that released that OMSI Bus game...which is priced at $34.99. That publisher is way out of touch with reality. Meanwhile, Towtruck Simulator, Woodcutter Simulator, etc. ended up in bundles a couple weeks after launching on Steam, haha.

Also, I read that EA UFC comes out on June 17th...and Bruce Lee will be able to fight across 4 weight classes. I'm guessing 135/145/155/170.

 
Yeah, so...apparently RBI Baseball is a total failure. It's going to be $20, has no online multiplayer, and it looks like this...

In other news, I got Dirt 3 working with the Rift/G27, and it is awesome! Possibly even more enjoyable than Euro Truck. There's something about whipping a rally car around through the snow and off of jumps that is just fun as hell. I wanted to just drive around yelling "weeeeeee!!!" lol. :lol:

Ah, I see. I think we talked about it on the thread already...theres that golf game like it too. I tried the hockey game,,,its pretty fun.

I have to be up early tomorrow, but I'll play a few if it's still early and you're on.

It's cool. We won our next 3 games after you left and then called it a night, lol. No rhyme or reason why we started winning. We did nothing differently at all...and it wasn't anything stupid like you were "holding us back" or anything. The bounces just all of a sudden started going our way...to a stupid degree. I think we beat one team like 7-0. Gotta love that "realistic" randomness where how you play has no bearing on the outcome of the game.

Anyway, I'm ready for Steam night tonight. I did my homework and downloaded Nazi Zombie, lol. Anybody forget?

 
Ok, Alan...so my Steam crashed. And now when I try to restart it, it's just hanging on "Updating Steam...verifying installation". WTF?? lol
