Haha man, I totally called you guys winning without me. Addition by subtraction.

Is anyone playing tonight?
Like I said, there was no reason for us all of a sudden start winning. Nothing about our performance changed in any way. The game just decided it was somebody elses turned to get fucked, I guess. We even followed that up with 2 more wins last night (once my Steam hard drive decided to take a dump...though, hopefullly that was just a one time thing)...for 5 straight wins...and a 6 game stretch where we only allowed 2 goals, and somehow ended up getting promoted to Division 2 (yay...)

But unfortunately, I probably won't be able to play tonight.

I will probably be on tonight playing something, ill shoot ya a msg if I see you.

Any news on the hard drive?
Yeah...I messaged you on Steam about it (#geezalangosh), haha. I considered opening up my computer to check the cables last night after we finished playing hockey. So, I shut it down...looked at the daunting jungle of parts and cables through the clear side of my case...and decided "I'll do this tomorrow". So, I started my computer back up...and it recognized the drive without issue.

Everything seems fine now *knock on wood*. No sluggishness or any delay with the drive responding or anything. So, I'm hoping it was just a freak occurrence made worse by Windows needing to update when I restarted...maybe...?

Ah, gotcha, havent logged onto steam yet today. Good to hear it was a one time thing. Definitely hear you when you talk about the cables...I gotta fix mine up as well lol.

Just so you guys know, I've been playing a lot of Titanfall lately. However, feel free to message me if you want to play NHL or whatever else. If I'm not playing with other friends, I'll switch over.

Haha, ETS2 > Real Life. That's an interesting list though. It seems like a new "10 best experiences" list comes out every couple months and there's always a few new things on it I haven't tried. I'll have to check out that Redframe Environment Demo. Stuff that is rendered really well and looks very real is always pretty awesome.

Back to Euro Truck, I actually meant to post something about this the other day...but in the past week, I've raised my level up from like 4 to 12...and I now have enough money to buy one of the really nice trucks. I decided I freaking love the Volvo FH Globetrotter XL's. I never really look at the outside of the truck, but the cabin on that one is nice. Sadlly, you have to be a level 16 or higher to buy it...so, I'll still be doing quick jobs for a bit longer. I'm excited to see how the game opens up once I have my own truck though.

I've also forced myself to start taking jobs in other countries just so I'll unlock more of the locations. The varied scenery in that game never ceases to amaze me. And honestly, the AI is probably some of the better AI I've ever seen. They do weird things here and there...but when a car flashes its lights at you to let you know they're letting you turn, that's pretty awesome. Meanwhile, we have NHL where players skate away from the puck, lol. Seriously...it's like the Special Olympics of video games.

I meant us.  We are playing an EA game so we are the ringers.

By the way Nate, SRIV is the midweek madness game on Steam.  66% off.

Yeah, I saw that. I still want a Full Package version...and I'm kind of trying to calm down my spending a bit. So, I'll probably pass again.

Fortunately, when games like this keep coming out, it makes it easy to save money...

Seriously, who keeps making sports games for PC without online multiplayer? This one actually looks pretty funny, but I'll be damned if I just want to play by myself.

Ah, funny that Gary asked. I'll actually be available tonight since it's a holiday weekend. I had this whole joke prepared about premature number two loving (Thursday Night Division Two NHL 14). Damn...

I think I might be done with NHL 14 sadly. With baseball season in full swing, I'm really only around on Monday nights for games, and I know that's not really easy for anyone else. Oh well, it was a good run.

Yeah...this is what happens when you go down the sim racing rabbit hole, lol. Jesus...just build the whole car, guy.

That's a bit weird. He's not getting the whole experience though, his foot isn't in the saddle ring thingy.

Alan and Nate, sorry for just vanishing last night.  Had something come up that I thought was only going to take a second to deal with and it ended up taking much longer than I expected.

Haha, it's cool, man. The rest of the night basically consisted of me screwing around in Next Car Game and going "Oh my God, I flipped my car and I'm flying through the air!" to Alan over and over again, lol. The physics in that game are pretty incredible though. From the damage model to how everything (even trees, bridges, and walls) interacts, it just looks very natural.

Honestly, I think physics are my new barometer for how good a game is. People can gush about graphics, but when you have legitimate real world physics, it's way more taxing on the system, and is harder to do well. When you have 25 objects on the screen at the same time calculating impact and trajectory (and speed and space), that's pretty badass.

Next Car Game - Pre-Alpha - 24 cars on track + debris, walls, damage, etc - works surprisingly well

NHL 14 - 2 patches and 5 tuner sets later - still can't take a slapshot around the end boards

lol...embarrassing

Oh, and here's that game I was telling you guys about last night. Very simple graphics...pretty awesome physics.

Haha, yeah. Kind of. And it's another early access, community driven game...so it makes me wonder how much stuff is going to get added. There are tons of levels and stuff already.

Also, Alan...I watched Markiplier's Surgeon Simulator while on treadmill video today. Freaking hilarious. Sometimes I think he overacts a bit, but this was legitimately funny. And not to spoil the ending for anybody...but it was awesome, haha.

I guess I need to go read up on Hamatchi.

And yeah...I'm not sure I get the deep fryer connection to the Rift. Am I making virtual french fries?
