The Portal table for Pinball FX2 is now out on Steam and is 50% off ($1.49) if you own either Portal game. Seems like a solid deal.

Found this guide for getting the best FPS possible in Rust. Some of it is common sense, but more info never hurts.

http://www.rustafied.com/improving-fps-in-rust-experimental
I like how that guide is pretty much;

Step 1: Put everything as low as possible.

Step2: Slowly turn everything up until it runs like shit, then turn it back down a notch.

Free Steam key for Culling of the Cows.

http://www.pcgamer.com/we-have-65m-worth-of-steam-keys-to-give-away/

Is the game any good? No idea. It's described as "a gory, amusing zombie cow massacre with tower defense elements." But free is free, haha. :)
Yup, free is free. Just gotta scroll down more on my games list. First world problems.

Best news I've heard today, Super Mega Baseball is coming to X1 and Steam this summer.
Great news. I always play as local teams in sport games, but since the Rockies suck balls, I'm glad these are fantasy teams.

Almost free is just as good as free.

It brings a playable (ie . non manager sim) baseball game to XB1 and Steam. Sadly, that's all it needed to do to get sales. Just look at all of us buying NHL every year.
We're all suckers.

lol, pretty much. I did get mine up to around 55 fps with most of the important effects (graphics quality, draw distance, etc) up decently high while running the server though. But it fluctuates A LOT...sometimes dropping to like 35. It still never felt nauseating though, so for me...it's definitely playable. Not sure how much more of an FPS having multiple connections would cause...but I think it's at least worth revisiting.

Yeah, I finally put mine into categories a month or two ago...which really didn't accomplish much because now I can't remember what category some games are in, and I have to just use the search bar anyway, haha. But hey...organized.

Almost free is just as good as free.
Yeah, I grabbed it and played a bit. For whatever reason, GLaDOS mocking me outside the confines of a structured story stings worse. I know I suck, ok! You don't have to keep telling me!

We're all suckers.
Yeah, but...playoff beards...

So, I own Portal 1 on steam...there isn't any discount showing. Why Valve, why?

(hope it wasnt a 1-day thing)

Hmm...I just pulled up the page and the discount is still showing for me. It says it lasts until June 10th. Are you looking at it on this page (and are logged in)?

http://store.steampowered.com/app/368840/

If it's still not working for you, I can buy it as a gift if you want to Paypal me the $1.49, haha.

Huh weird. Definitly logged in; I acutally logged out and back in to see if it would "refresh" it, but no dice. Looking at the announcement page though, sounds like others are running into the same thing. Since it supposed to run till the 10th, I'll wait it out for a few days, see if it updates on my end. Otherwise, I'll take you up on that offer.

IIRC, I think I got Portal for free through some promo a long time ago...I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Haha, that could be. GLaDOS knows. ;)

Dare I say it...but that Hatred game actually looks kind of decent. Almost completely destructible environments with great physics. I mean...you can drive cars through houses to kill people... That has to be applauded right?

From a tech standpoint, it looks solid, game play wise, it seems kinda generic...its just too bad that they are making the gratuitous violence a selling point. Otherwise, yeah, doesn't seem too bad. It really reminds me of the first Postal.

Wow, that 980ti sounds like a beast. I read that it performs around 15% worse than the Titan X in benchmarks, but its also 350 less. Thats a lot of bang for the buck. Luckily Im sitting on a 780 right now, which is still more than enough for any game...otherwise I probably would have been very tempted if I needed to upgrade.

Also, congrats Gary on your team making it to the Finals :)

Keep in mind, its a sandbox style game.

Its deceptively simple, but its not like its the most in -depth thing either. You can get around and probably beat the game, without spending too much time thinking about the mechanics, but you can do some interesting things if you tinker with it. For three bucks, i'd say its worth it,.

Steam now offers refunds.

http://kotaku.com/steam-is-now-offering-refunds-1708492000

Best part is about sale prices:
We do not consider it abuse to request a refund on a title that was purchased just before a sale and then immediately rebuying that title for the sale price.
Wow...shots fired on the console market. That's a pretty incredible policy. I wonder if it's a precursor to reintroducing paid mods like I've seen people speculating will happen.

Thats pretty cool that they're doing that. Too bad its only 2 weeks; other otherwise I could probably clear out 3/4s my steam library lol

LMAO...wow. That is amazing. See, when I see stuff like that, it just makes me want EA to leave all of the joke stuff (crazy hip checks, injuriing yourself on the boards, etc) in the game. If that is the result when they're trying to be serious, just stop trying and at least let us laugh at the hilarious shit.

If their game was judged as harshly as racers are on the sim/not-sim scale, it would be ripped to shreds. NHL 15 is about as "sim" as Need For Speed.

People are asking horrible questions in the "Ask EA NHL."  Will there be zamboni racing was one of them.  Also asking if Oveckin will have his yellow laces.

Be A Mascot

Press X to beat drum in time with "Go Kings Go" chant.

Press B to fire t-shirt cannon.

Press A to pretend to high five a kid.

Press Y to ask "Why the fuck am I playing this?"

Playoffs may actually mean something again.  This was on Ask EA NHL

We can definitely tune/tweak the frequency of the Playoff window within the EASHL Online Seasons. Thus far, the overwhelming response supports bringing back the monthly format.

In NHL 14, playoffs were every Friday - Sunday. In the locker room you could choose to play "playoffs" or "regular". That got old after like one week, and we started intentionally avoiding playoffs. It really made winning a banner not special at all because unless you're one of the ass monkeys that plays every single night, you hardly got to see your banner celebration. And if you didn't win one...oh well, you could try again in 4 days. Oh, and on top of that, you got a second attempt at the playoffs every week too. For us, it just felt like all playoffs, all the time.

But yeah...they also had the 10 game seasons to determine your division and stuff. That's why we've been making new teams so often. We learned you can only get matched up with teams 5 divisions ahead or behind you. So, if you're division 10, you can't play a team higher then division 5. If you're division 5, you can play anyone. And once you move up beyond that, you're really only playing the top teams.

So, we've been getting to division 4 and just making a new team because once you start playing the division 1, 2, and 3 teams...they are mostly douchebags abusing exploits.

Ok...this is the craziest damn thing I've ever seen... I still don't know how to make sense of what I just saw.

EDIT - Just saw there's a "behind the scenes" video too. I have to watch this so my brain can process real life again, lol.

Man, lots of attention to small details make that work really good.

Corridor Digital's stuff is really awesome, you should check out their other videos if you haven't before.

This is crazy news and a pretty solid counter to what Valve and Sony are doing.

I'll be VERY curious to find out what the Xbox One streaming actually ends up being though. If this streamed compatibility is legitimate headtracking and being "in the game", then that's amazing (though I don't know how they'd pull it off with the consumer Rift needing games to hit 90 fps to not be vomit inducing).

But if it means using the Rift as a virtual theater to make it feel like you're playing the game on a movie theater size screen, then that's not really as impressive. It's cool as hell and watching movies/IMAX films that way is the greatest shit in the history of life...but playing a game on a big screen is still playing a game on a big screen. If you can't turn around to see what creepy bitch is sneaking up behind you, it just aint the same, haha.

At the very least, this goes a long way to answer the "Who's going to buy one?" question though. As long as it doesn't affect the ability to reach high end PC gaming, being able to reach out to both markets and exponentially increase their target market is genius.

EDIT - It also just occurred to me that this creates the possibility of me being able to play NHL on the Rift. Dear God...what have they done...

Rockband 4 preorders are now live at several places including Amazon and Best Buy.  Gamers Club Unlocked does apply as well for Best Buy, it knocks the price for the game and wireless guitar down $26 and the band set down $50.

Payday 2 is a daily deal on steam today for the DLC.  Front page is only showing the 55% but it is actually 75% off even on Alesso heist.

Edit- Maybe not, as I was adding them to the cart the price jumped back up.
