That Blaziken needs at least Sky Uppercut/Brick Break, Flamethrower, and Bulk Up.

Goddammit -- my copy is on it's way from GS, and I still haven't figured out how to get my wifi adapter working. Why can't the DS just work with WPA encryption? :roll:
 
Thanks :D, and I also just won after an epic confrontation with Steven Stone. The reason I kept HMs on my mains (specifically Slakings rock smash and Blazikens cut) is because HM slaves would take up too much room. ATM Im hunting down Latios for a quick master balling, then its off to get Raquaza on the way to picking up Platinum. I am going to have some sweet stuff to trade on CAG

My girlfriend and I just picked up two copies this morning. I had preordered it at Gamestop via online in-store pickup, and called to confirm that they were giving out the Giratina figurines with the preorders, and they assured me they were. Get there this morning (they opened three hours early for the release) and we're the only customers. Turns out, though, that I preordered too late to get on the figurine list (only bothered preordering on the 20th, so it's understandable). Girlfriend and I walk out $75 lighter with two copies of the game.

Walmart's right across the street, though, and according to the official Platinum website, they were giving figurines out with the game, but weren't taking preorders, so I figure why not, they probably have some in stock. We walk over, talk to the only employee working in electronics, and he tries to figure out if the game's actually released today. His manager tells him no, nothing new is coming out today. He tells us his manager's a crazy old fool and calls around for 5-10 minutes, is told it is indeed being released by a neighboring store, and heads into the back. Comes back with the box, clearly labeled with the street date, and gives us our copies. I had no idea the Walmart edition also came with a DS case too, for the same price. Certainly worth our trouble.

We walked back across the street and returned our two copies of the solo game to Gamestop. The employee there was totally cool about it, which was nice. That was my morning. :lol: It's my first Pokemon game, so I'm pretty excited. My girlfriend's a fan of the series from her childhood, though, and her birthday's next week, which is why were out and about to snag it at 9 a.m. :)

Doesn't the game also have wi-fi for that Underground Tunnel?

Well, one of the Features on the Menu is something related to your Wii (Like pairing it). Can anyone tell me what that's for and its' purpose?

Yes, the Underground uses WiFi. You can play with your friends in the Underground.

Dont know about the Wii thing.
 
It sends a message to your Wii when a trade has completed over GTS.

You can list a Pokemon to trade and set which one you want in return over WFC, someone can accept the trade and this helps notify you that it was completed. I personally can't seem to get it to work, when it sends the registration code I never received it on my Wii.

As of the launch, the only thing that you can do with your Wii is sync it so that you get a Wii message every time one of your Wi-Fi trades go through. Not really useful imho, but I'm sure they'll add more stuff to it later.

Edit: Yukine beat me lol. But yea, it's kinda iffy. I had to send mine 3 times to get it to work.

Yes it's $34.99 I got mine at walmart yesterday had to ask the employee about it because they haven't put out the bundles.

For you guys who have a Shiny Stone (found on Iron Island and Route 228) I was wondering if I could have it. I need to evolve my Togetic into Togekiss when 'tic hits level 33 and learns ancientpower (its at 21 right now, Im doing the other 12 tomorrow). I have my Eevee I got from Bebe to offer you (Level 20), but thats about it. Id appreciate the help. Thanks
 
Yeah, the guide is massive. The Pokemon Platinum Perfect guide I'm considering ordering (Japanese release only) is a whopping 927 pages. I ordered the english Platinum guide this morning and it shipped already, should be here on Wednesday.

I think I have an extra shiny stone Filler, I'll just have to double check.

There aren't any really good Grass types in D/P before migration. Turtwig worked out fine for me. You could try for a Roserade but you need a stone for that. You could also get the Eevee from Bebe and evolve it into Leafeon too.
