Are we playing the same game?
The graphics are late xbox at best, it's just slightly better than Doom 3 and Riddick. The main character annoys the hell out of me (hey guy, we get it - you have no clue what's going on - shut up now), the enemies barely react when shot at other than a simple flinch (I love how the guy just kinda flinches after I hit him in the head with a wrench), the "interactive environment" consists of an on-screen cursor playing video poker and the ability to spin a barstool and interactive computer screens similar to Doom 3. The voicework of the main character is flat ("oh... my... god".. in a sarcastic tone). The guns look cool (but are more or less the same guns in every other game), the portals are pretty mind

and the wall walking is alright, but this thing screams Doom 3 with different enemies, slightly better graphics and a gimmick that leaves the game pretty dull.
And what part scared the shit out of you? The only thing scary here is that the walls are glossy and tend to make shit sounds when an alien pops out. If this scares you, please, steer way clear of Fatal Frame and Silent Hill.
I'll give it a rent, I guess, but there's no way i'll get this at launch.
Late Xbox at best? I guess we are playing a different game because there is no way the original Xbox could run this the way the 360 does.
I agree with the wrench thing. I wish HHS would have paid attention to Condemned. They got melee weapons down perfect.
Interactive environment is being able to actually change channels on the tv, using the soap dispenser on the wall, flipping the lid to the toilet and a whole bunch of other shit reacting the way you would expect it to when you interact with it. And there is more then video poker there is also video slots, jukebox (when didn't work in the demo

) and a working Pac Man sim.
Guess I should have mentioned I scare easily in games. Doom III freaked me out and Fatal Frame scarred me for life.
