Official San Diego Area CAG List

For newer games, it's MSRP... they specialize in retro gaming though... most of their stock is used games... they got a bunch of old systems/games that are a bit harder to find...
Anyone know of any decent job openings? I'm looking for a new full time position sometime in the near future...
SeaWorld...jk  Well, if you're looking for a full time job I supposed Sea World is pretty cool for people over 18 because you have a lot more opportunities there than if you were under 18. They are currently hiring people for photographers (full time I believe) that go around the park to take pictures, and the pay is pretty decent too, which is $10.25 to take pictures. I'm just mad you have to be 18+ to work that job which I suppose isn't even all that hard.

Dude...I just had one of the biggest fucking plates of Carne Asada fries ever!! I got them off this one place off of Midway (in the same center as the old EBgames, now Gamestop). It's called Bahia or something, its located in the food court across from EB/Gamestop. It's $5.75 after tax and man are the CA fries delicious!! I couldn't even finish all of it, I had to get my left-overs for to-go! Check them out if you're ever in that area, trust me you'll thank me later lol.
I've had fries there before, they're pretty good... I still like Lolita's in Bonita over them though :)
Which one gives a bigger plate? So far I think the one I just mentioned is winning for biggest plate when I saw it I was like "O SHIT!" in a good way haha

I ate at Lolita's for the first time this past weekend. Nothing I haven't eaten before, but it was real good. Very much like the Roberto's and Alberto's up in the north where I usually eat.
In Oceanside there's a place called Game ADX on Vista Way just off of Coast highway. I went there once, prices seemed a bit high but not unreasonable, lots of stuff.
ugh... i can't stand this place. GameADX guy, if you're reading this, sorry but you're an ass and so's your store.

the reason they have so many unique items is because the guy that owns/runs the place charges both arms and legs for anything. when you want a price on pretty much anything "retro", he whips out his giant Ebay-esque price guide (i've seen pawn shops with this same guide) and quotes you some barf-price. i once tried to buy some Turbo Grafx stuff from him which was fine, until he realised that he didn't have prices on anything yet, at which point he told me, "oh yeah, i bought this stuff for myself, it's not for sale, i forgot." okayyy....

so anyway, that's all. i'll never go there again. to top things off, the guys who work/hang out there (hard to tell which they are) are those wretched snobby nerd types that you just want to choke clean out on sight.

The nerdy pussies that act like they're the shit, but you can stomp them down so easily.

Congrats. Be sure to pick up LoZ: TP, Super Paper Mario, Rayman Raving Rabbids, and RE4: Wii Edition.

Feel free to add me and I'll add you back.

I got RE4 for now, and that game is 10x more scary than the GC version I played 2 years ago. Something about the motion control makes it a lot more scary lol.

But anyways, I guess I'm heading out to Comic-Con tomorrow for the first time in 5 years. Anyone got a list of what's happening tomorrow? And is Markman gonna be there with his Tekken thing?

EDIT: Ok, I think I'm going to sell RE4: Wii edition. I don't wanna play it anymore  I'll let it go for $20, if anybody wants it let me know.
No gaming room on Sunday :(
Damm, but oh well I just got back from CC and let's just say it was insane! It was fun but insane. I was able to snag an Anakin Skywalker replica lightsaber for $90 (originally $100 but bargained down to $90), pretty good I guess.

How do we find our Wii friend code?

EDIT: Found it. My Wii code is "0102 8187 4566 7276" for those who are too lazy to look on the side lol. Everyone add me! I need more Mii buddies lol.

How much y'all spend over Comic-Con? What y'all bought? Who y'all saw?

I think I spent a good $92 plus foods and parking.

Let's see:

TokiDoki Moofia figure - $7 (LowFat!!!)
R2-KT - $10
Wild Arms Pinkie figure - $12 (some dude gave me a good price :D )
Gentlemen Alliance shojo manga - $9 (comes with autograph board)
Picture & autograph with "Ando" from Heroes - $40 (best $$$ ever spent)
Art portfolio - $10
Boobie plushie - $4 (super cute)

I saw:

Gene Simmons (he was walking around - dunno what he's here for)
Cast of Blade Runner movie (won an autograph session)
James Kyson Lee (Ando from "Heroes" - super nice)
Thomas E. Sniegoski (author of "The Fallen")
Cast of Kyle XY (I have no idea, but there were lots of teeny boopers around)
Sgt. Slaughter

Such a random weekend. :D XD :D
How much y'all spend over Comic-Con? What y'all bought? Who y'all saw?
Spent a little over a hundred:
Hasbro Rodimus Prime Alternator 25
Hasbro Pepsi Prime 25
Random Booth Rumble Alternator 27.50
Random Booth Rollbar Alternator 27.50

Other scores that I will actually keep:
Signed Phoenix Wright Trials and Tribulations Poster by Minae Matsukawa (Thanks Ma12kez)
Watchmen Movie Poster
Balls of Fury Underwear!?!?!

Who did I see?
From Panels:
Zack Snyder
Steve Carell
The Rock
Kate Beckinsale
Masi Oka
Kevin Smith
Ray Wise
and I'm sure there were more but I really can't remember...

I also randomly saw Stan Lee walking outside of the main hall.

Overall another great con for me. Can't wait til next year.

I saw the Rock last year...or was it 2 years ago. He's super nice. He liked my chocobo. :D

Say, anyone picked up an extra Pepsi Prime? I would trade or buy for my idiot best friend's X-mas present.

You should have been visiting the transformers toys thread. I had 2 extra Rodimus and 2 extra Pepsi Primes, that I was offering near cost + shipping. I got a grip of PMs and picked winners less than 10 minutes ago. If anyone backs out on the Pepsi's I will let you know.

I got both of the exclusive Dan Hibiki figures, two pixelated Castlvania Simon Belmont figures, and a couple of graphic novels, a few comic books, and Cory Doctorow's Overclocked. Plus a ton of free stuff. I spent over $100 I'm sure, none of it on food.

Do anybody's GameCrazy's ever ask for ID when trading in games? The one I go to usually never do, but today I was asked for one when trying to trade in my games. Being only 16 (17 soon) and not 18 yet, I was unable to trade in any games. I don't remember a time where I had to be 18 to trade in a game for another game. What gives?

When I was working at GameCrazy this was standard policy. The policy linked to some kind of state law I think.

anybody with a ps3 that has ninja gaiden wanna trade me for my oblivion ?
so who here uses craigslist a lot, theres so many 360 posts its ridiculous!

I believe there's another independent video game store on Midway (Sports Arena) near Wings N' Things, has anybody gone there before??

Chargers first preseason game today...can't wait. Too bad I'll be still at work for the first half, so I'll most likely not get to see the first team play.
Yes, it's also a PC cafe... they have some high prices, actually too high... but they have some good prices on older games...
If you're talking about the store next to Thai Time II...

They have excellent prices on magic cards and older used games.
The Thai restaurant next door is my best friend's family's Thai restaurant

Also, there's GameAddix in Oceanside near Coast Highway and whatever the name is of the street that the 78 becomes.

Was anybody able to get Bioshock from a TRU? Tons of TRUs around the SOCAL area broke street date... But I don't feel like going to LA to get a copy lol...
I heard that minimum wage is going up to $8.50 in like a couple of weeks. Is this true? Can someone confirm?
From what I remember, the minimum wage for California will go up to $8.00 starting Jan. 1, 2008.

Anybody know of what GameCrazy's in SoCal have closed? I have several within driving distance and decided to go to one of the ones I haven't been to in a while... discovered they closed down 2-3 months ago (in the El Cajon/ Rancho area of East County. It was on Jamacha.).

I just read that, but 3 other people I work with confirmed that it was going up to $8.50
just saw the thread and wanted to say hi. longtime CAG, new to San Diego.
You're gonna love it here :)

Nope, it's $8.00 starting Jan 1st.

the Federal Minimum Wage recently was raised to $5.85 though if I remember correctly.

Hey guys, the board has been quiet lately. Any good games and/or deals lately? I'm about 3/4 of the way through BioShock. It's awesome. I just need to make sure and finish it prior to 9/25...

Anyone know how crowded the DMV is when it opens? If I get there right when it opens at 8, do I have a good chance of getting in and out pretty fast?

I'll be going to the Poway DMV.
I go to the clairemont office and it wasent really crowded in the morning that i went ( it was a Monday, i went for registration renewal ).
most people got work in the morning so they come in the afternoon

It depends on what you are goin there for too
before you head out just check the estimate wait time on their site.

I didn't notice the estimated wait time. I won't be going yet, so I'll check that out tomorrow morning to see what the wait times are like when it opens.

I'm having a tough time selling my TV.. if anybody here is interested in buying a 30" widescreen 1080i CRT HDTV for just $260, let me know if you're interested. And yes, it is on craigslist.

And if this is spam, then a mod can delete it. But this is a San Diego thread, so I'm hoping there is someone who wants to buy a cheap TV.
