So the big thing right now is that 20% off coupon at Kmart stores (heres the link to the topic: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=158791), wondering if anybody knows anything about it in our area. Since the coupons are said to be available only at stores with pharmacies, I decided to check out the closest, and the only one I could find was one way out in temecula. The coupon should work at all the stores as long as you have an original copy of said coupon. Was wondering if anyone who lives out there has seen the coupon booklet.
 
Not yet, I was lucky to get mine a few days ago. I LOVE the game.

If you guys are interested in the Prima collector's edition guides... I got one at Fry's for $19.99 instead of $29.99. They were tagged wrong. If you're interested in one, check Fry's out.

So, what do you guys think of the BF deals so far? The only one I'm interested in thus far is the BB 360 + GHII deal. But if it's true that they aren't HDMI-equipped and don't come with FM2 and M:UA, it's not worth it to me.
 
okay, i went to the National City TRU and reserved Super Mario Galaxy. free coin and $25 gift card, here i come. the girl claimed it was the last reserve, which i believe since i couldn't find anymore hanging up in the usual spot. i also happened to notice Tony Hawk's Proving Ground for 360, priced at $39.99. not too shabby -- i was dreading paying full price for this, as it's a gift for my nephew.

lastly, if anyone cares, that same TRU seems to be breaking street date on the new Zunes. they already have them in the case and available for sale.

i'm unimpressed thus far. i was really hoping for some hot HD DVD deals; i'm shocked to see there's almost none. i did use the 25% off code on WB's store for the Ocean's gift set and Bladerunner, but it's not enough! ;)

season box sets of House are priced pretty good, but i'm not sure if they're worth waking up early for. hopefully some retailers spring some surprises on us before the "big day".

Black Friday hasn't really been good for a couple years... This year is no different. I was really hoping for a door buster 37"-42" 1080p LCD, but so far it doesn't look good unless Wal*Mart has an amazing deal. If I had the room I'd probably get the 47" Sharp for 1300 at CC, but I really don't. Oh well... at least I don't know to have my ass sitting in a parking lot all night.
 
Vinatieri fucked up big time.

Chargers were fucking horrible. Rivers can't do squat, Chargers' so-called "Offense" is a joke. What happened from last year? What's with the offensive line? Where's the running lane for L.T.? Can Rivers make a decent throw? When you pick off the opposing QB 5 times, you expect a landslide win, especially with the talent they have.

It's no secret the Chargers have a lot of talent, but it ain't showing up on offense. LT and Gates are the only exception. I don't believe that defenses can win games, but apparently it did here because Chargers had no fucking offense at all. 5 INTs and only 1 Touchdown? WTF? They had only 1 decent drive and that was mostly luck! 3rd and long, 3rd and long, 3rd and long. If that's their strategy, someone should tell them it ain't working.

After Vinatieri missed the kick and the Chargers get it back, what do they do? Give it right back to Manning. You would think that they would be able to end it right there, but thanks to their high potent offense, they scored so fast that they gave the ball right back to the Colts. It was so fast that they didn't have time to update the scoreboard that they were up by an extra 7 points. So the close game that you saw wasn't actually close at all. :roll:

So yea, San Diego TRUs were screwed from shipping with DHL shipping.

I went to TRU in National City around 4:30 PM and they were clueless so I called up Morena TRU and they said I can go there and preorder it still.... So I did that. While in a 20-25 personish line around 5 PM the workers told everyone that the shipment was not coming in tonight and that they will have it tomorrow. They let people preorder and still get the coin and $25 gift card guaranteed when we pick up the game. They were getting in 141 games and had 160 coins, so yea they were straight on those.

If anyone wants the coin+GC I suggest going to TRU early in the morning and preordering.

I would be so mad if I didn't already play through Super Mario Galaxy last weekend! lololol...

Did they say what time tomorrow? I went to the Chula one right after work and they said 5pm. I never bothered going back after reading about the stories on CAG.
 
They didn't tell me what time exactly, but they said they'll get it tomorrow for sure. I'm just gonna call them a little after they open and hopefully get an update.
 
i had a preorder at the National City store (i refunded it tonite, for the record), and my brother had one at Chula Vista (also refunded tonite). National City has 86 preorders and 15 (yep, FIFTEEN) coins.

after going in today at around 3:30 (just missed ya, MarkMan) and being sent home empty handed, i called them around 5pm. the lady i spoke to took down my name and number (despite my telling her i had already preordered -- whatever), and told me to try again tomorrow. i asked her if i could come in a nab a coin, since i'd already been in once and i wouldn't be able to come in tomorrow until around 3. she politely said no, that it "wouldn't be fair". i thought, "well, it's not going to be very fair when 15 ppl show up before i even can and get their coins", but i digress... at least she was very polite, as was the girl who i spoke to in-person earlier (they better be -- i only worked there five years!).

anyway, i came home kinda sad, and my brother reported a similar situation, so i called up Best Buy (the Chula Vista store, near 4th & C). the girl i spoke to, Gina, was very nice and said they'd be glad to honor a PM. a few minutes later, my brother and i were both in BB, and we easily found 2 copies; there were tons on a display as you walk toward the CD/Game/HD section. the guy at the register radioed for Gina to confirm the PM, which she did. he called over a manager (a lady) who used her key to autorize our two PMs. no gift card, no fuss... just 25 bucks each! couldn't be simpler. they were happy to do it, too. i'll miss the coin, but i'd much rather pay 25 in cash with no coin, then have to spend 50 just to get one!

oh, and no, we didn't have the ad. i just mentioned that Gina said it was good, they checked with her, and it was done.
 
i should have went to best buy to get a price match....

i had 2 copies reserved at the toys r us in national city and showed up around 8:30 pm tonight, and yeah, no copies. stupid me didnt call and i had to take a short bus ride to get there. but i assumed they would have it. mario galaxy, pre order, you know, biggest wii game yet? and they didnt get it. wtf, fucking fail.

if they dont have it tomorrow when i go, im going to best buy and pricematching it there and refunding my pre order from toys r us.

If anyone is interested in getting the Limited Edition guide for $19.99 instead of $29.99 check out Fry's Electroncs. I got my guide last week and they mispriced it at $19.99 instead of $29.99(which it said on the back of the guide). So they honored it. Not sure if they changed the price stickers yet though, so be aware. I saw about 5 guides last time I was there a day or two ago.

Thanks for the heads up. I went earlier today after TRU didn't have it yet. They (CV) apparently got their shipment in late last night and immediately sold out of it. Damn you DHL! Frustrated, I got my deposit refunded and got a copy of the ad. I immediately headed off to BB and got the price adjustment with no hassle. Well, the cashier did call the manager, who already knew about the deal and it went through. Don't care about the GC or the coin. At least not anymore.

I did manage to pick up Dead Rising for $20 over at TRU (CV). I bought one of the last two copies (so 1 left). They don't have the display boxes on the floor anymore, but you can just head to the register and see it on the back wall.
 
National City TRU called me today and said they have (had) it in stock, as of like 2pm. i have no idea if it's still there, just throwin' it out there for anyone who might still be wondering...

it's funny; SMG is the first Wii game i've bought since launch (i also got LoZ:TP, Metal Slug:A and Excite Truck at that time). the only other games that've really caught my eye recently are Metroid:p3 (but i own the first two and haven't even started them) and Zak & Wiki.

i'm playin' SMG right now with my wife, and we're both having a lot of fun. great game, if not a little vomit-inducing. :lol:

Thanks for all the info about SMG at BB. Only having to pay 28 bucks out of my pocket for this game was much better than having a $25 GC to TRU.

Anyway, do yourself a favor and pick up Zack and Wiki, if not now, then just eventually. It really is a great game.

Thanks allyourblood and FFMooglestar for the advice on SMG at BB. It took a while but the cashier finally got it to ring up as $24.99. I was soooo close to getting a free $25 gift card though since the dude was super confused, but oh well. Any idea what the coin looks like? Just curious since I went ahead and cancelled my pre-order at TRU as well. Thanks again guys! Probably won't be playing this any time soon, but then again first party Nintendo games don't really drop in price anyway.
 
Assassin's Creed $39.99 at Fry's tomorrow only.

I hope to get one, I don't care which version I get, as long as I get one... I would prefer the 360 version however... Anyone else checking out either the Fry's down south or in San Marcos?

If you didn't get SMG yet, try another TRU that has it and use the $25 Gift Card towards a wii remote :)

i was stupid enough to buy the $30 replacement plan i forgot about the Nintendo warranty. so i have to go bac get my $30.....

idk but don't see how ur tru not selling smg to non-preorders is lame. It means that they only have enough copies for those who preordered, know I'd be pretty pissed if I came in after having reserved the game months in advance to find they had sold out. Sounds like pm at bb would be ur best bet
 
Yeah, just price match at BB with the ad in hand. Managers should already know about it, but take the ad just in case. You may not be able to get the GC, but hey, paying $25 for the game & no GC beats having to pay $50 for the game & a GC.

i got rejected at the Mission Valley BB. they said "no its a fake email" at the CSR.
then i went to a register to try it and one guy says no we dont doit, then i said my friend did it earlier and they said well we got an email saying not to doit.

f-ing lame. oh well good news :)

the weird thing is on the Gift receipt it just says SMG Gift.

I got a Wii at Morena Blvd. TRU on Sunday, waited in a 30+ person line for a pre-order on the day SMG was supposed to come in, and ended up walking out the following day with:

SMG
SMG commemorative coin
Free Princess Peach pink jacket for a Wiimote
and used the $25 GC on an additional Wiimote.
So, for $80, walked out a very happy man.

Sorry for everyone else they're fucking over, there's a whole case full of SMGs, but they're all presold! They should have kept them in the back, as to avoid getting customer's hopes up...

yeah theyre gonna have more this sunday(wiis)
theres a TON of SMG.... but the register guy was cool enough to give me one + the GC.
 
frys was a dissapointment. i got there at 8 ad they were sold out of AC's. sales lady tells me they only got about 20 copies and they were gone immediately, she also said the advertised price was a mistake.
anyway she was very nice and gave me a raincheck so i didnt have to kick over the magazine rack.
