Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

That's still marked 31.97 here. 2 Sears here have clearance bins which have actual clearance games and a bunch of frontlane stickered games and cheaper games, 19.99 to 29.99 MSRP stuff like greatest hits and the like. One actually pulls out an extra table for stuff that must be dredged up from the backroom because a Metal Gear Acid 2, a pair of Double Dash Gamecube bundles, a Mario Tennis (stickered 14.97 and I didn't realize it had been seen lower, should've had it checked :bomb: ), and a Gameboy player have appeared at different times with other stuff I never saw before they hit the table. There are some clearance games in the glass cases and the frontlane section at another store. The other 3 or 4 stores didn't have clearance areas at all when I was there and the games I had checked from the glass cases did not have clearance prices when scanned. In other words, it varies from store to store and the only way to find out for sure is to have them scan a game which is usually a big hassle at my stores.
 
ive been waitin ona baten kaitos to fall from 31 for like 6 months now. that sears hasnt dropped prices in forever and somethings (pokemon xd) actually went back up in price
 
Lol, I see. I'm enjoying this thread. Second time I tried going into Sears. Last time was for Gun for $5 way back when. I'm going to go tomorrow. Going to test something. Cheers :)
 
If a game is "old" what exactly does that mean? I am familiar with K-marts policy when a game .01 (pennies) out. The reason I ask is because my sister told me today my home town sears has like 3 copies of Kirby Cursed Canvas. What are these games going to ring up?

well if they were not reported as clearance then they probably will ring up as full price. nobody has checked them since as far as i know the sears i went to had none of those games in stock. just have it price checked.

"old" means from the older list from the other threads. when i created the list i didnt want the newer clearance games to blend in with the older stuff. thats why i highlighted the recently posted ones (it makes it more easier to look at). you pretty much wont find any of them although some sears may still carry 1 or even 2 of them. if you find them, consider yourself lucky since they will ring up less than $5 most the time.
 
Stopped by Sears Essentials last night looking for DDR Mario Mix...the only GC game they carry was "Over the Hedge" :cry:

I did manage to pick up:
Metal Gear Acid 2 $3.97
Drakengard 2 $5.97

They both rang up lower than sticker price...the guy wouldn't give me the extra 25% off....total came out to be $10ish after tax.

:whistle2:#I misread. I just saw "should I call?" and went to town...apologies. What I said still goes for calling about stock/price though.
 
Stopped by a Sears and the only thing they had that interested me was Super Mario Strikers, but it rang up for $12.97 instead of $5.97. I opted to buy it anyway as that's still a good price for the game, I think. Overall the Sears around me have really been a bust. I rarely find anything good on clearance.
 
I stopped by the sears in lynchburg, va today, and they had about 6 gamecubes out, priced at $69.97. One of them was the pokemon xd bundle.

Everything else seemed to be at least one price drop behind the current list in the OP.

One of the SEARS here clearanced Gamecubes out during the summer for $29.99 each.

Did you get one for me? Mine crapped out over a year ago, and I've yet to replace it as my roommate has one that works and I figured I'd get a Wii eventually.
 
I posted this in the last thread but about a year ago I found a DS Charger official brand for $3.97. I tried to purchase it and it was out of the system and they refused to sell it to me. Today, I find it out on the shelf yet again (must have been in the back). I take it up to the register and of course it rings up out of the system. It had a pink sticker saying $3.97 MAY (that's MAY 2006!). He entered it as general merchandise and at $3.97. I wanted to ask if it could be less since it was so old (maybe it was $0.97 at one point) but decided to not press the issue because original DS accessories are impossible to find so I figured even for $3.97 it was a good deal.

Also price checked Madden 06 for the PSP. It was $12.97 months ago so I thought it would be $0.97 or $1.97 by now. Still $12.97.

I had the guy price it and it was $43.97. Way to much for me.
I really wanna get into fighting games so I was tempted to get Non PH DOA 4 (only copy) for $14.97, but after hearing how low everyone else was getting it for I declined.

I have 3 sears within' 30 minutes of me. I can only check one a week. Way too much gas to check them all. I'll be heading to another later this week though.

If you like fighters, DOA4 is well worth it. I got it for that price and have no complaints. Plus, it's by far the best fighter on 360 currently (unless you count fight night) with MK and SF on XBLA not far behind, but different beasts. I'm still waiting on Virtua Fighter 5 and especially Soul Calibur 4, but DOA is very good stuff. Even if you go the BC route you're looking at DOA 3 and Ultimate, Fight Night, a couple of MKs, the rare Marvel vs Capcom 2, or Soul Calibur 2 and they're all good fighters. If you're unsure if you like fighters, I'd actually go with SC2 as its really good, was way overprinted and could be had cheap used at EB and if you like it get more. But DOA 4 is worth it. You could always get it and return it if you change your mind before you open it. Just saying it probably won't last long especially if it's marked.
 
Picked up Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life for $9.99. Tried to pick up True Swing Golf, but it was out of the system and the salesman did not know what to do. Oh well.

I can attest to this. I work at Sears in Electronics actually and I'm always surprised when i find a game cheap. The Sears I work in is so disorganized that we have all this old shit everywhere so I have found some pretty cheap stuff. We have a bin of a ton of random un-priced games which usually end up coming up pretty cheap. This other employee found a Ghost Recon game on xbox (not Island Thunder) that was $4.97 I believe. I'm lucky that since I work there I have access to our back room which is basically pack full of old stuff that we no longer sell so it usually comes up at cheap prices.

Right now we have those xbox360 faceplates that a couple of people have mentioned, the wood one but we also have a metallic silver one as well. Both are $1.97 and I plan on buying one this weekend when I buy my xbox360 as well. Ill still use my 10% associate discount on the faceplate too which will give me an additional 19 cents off, because I'm a cheap bastard.

LOL That's the ONLY way to be, get every cent you can off of an item. Hell, I'd love to see what they may have stashed away at the Sears stores by me or even the Kmarts, since I'm sure they have some REALLLLLLLY old stuff. Then again, I never do find any good clearance games @ Sears, but that's because someone in electronics is probably too busy trying to hawk a tv off on some shlep for commission(if they get that) to be bothered to do the updates.

I'm still kicking myself in the ass for not hiding the couple copies of Ico and War Of The Monsters for PS2 that I saw there as recently as 4 months ago, since they're supposedly super cheap now. Now, if only that copy of Subsistence would drop to the low price it's SUPPOSED to be @, instead of the $19.97 price it was at the last time I checked it.

Ico was very surprising to me when I found it. it was laying there with the rest of the front lane games. i had it checked and it was $4.97, i bought both right away (i still have both, plus another i bought from a different store). back then i never really bothered to check other stuff. i was happy to get something, ya know?

I didn't get one at all. Period. I couldn't decide at the time if I needed another GC, and then I later decided for $30, why not? It's not much more than a brand new controller, which it comes with... so I went back the next day and they were cleaned out. More than 10 brand new GCs for $30, all gone.

I did get a good amount of games for 50 cents there, though.

I think Soul Calibur on the Gamecube made me wanna try them. I played it a lot and got OK. I've seen people that are good or even great and I'm hardly OK. I (like probably everyone on this site) am always keeping an eye out for MvC2. I think I'll wait just a wee longer to see if it drops. Also I have 2 more Sears to check out first.

Same happened to me. That's odd True Swing is out of system in multiple stores. The guy did say he'd let me get it for $25 though.

Well ask someone in the department first if they know of any old games that might be in the back room or anything. They might try to tell you there aren't any but don't believe them. Tell them you know someone that works at sears and he said that you guys have old games in the back. If he still tries to deny it then it's probably not worth it. Plus once they find out a game is low priced back there anyways they might want it for themselves as Ronin said. If you ask for perhaps specific games on the list that was posted by the OP you might get some luck. But then again they might just go back there and not even look for it and say they dont have it. I guess its just a game of luck really.

Plus the game I was referring to yesterday was actually Rainbow Six: Critical Hour on xbox. It is $4.97 at my sears. I was checking out some other games today and they didn't come up at a surprisingly low price. I will probably take a closer look next week and see what I can find.

You have to be very lucky finding a decent sales assoicate to do this for you, I have only had this happen once and it was at Kmart. The cashier was just too nice and he knew I kept visiting electronics all the time for clearance games. So one day he just went to the back-room and came back with a ton of clearanced games for really cheap. Some were Donkey Konga 2 & Jungle Beat (with bongos) for $3.50 each and an xbox forza bundle for $63.00. He said they have loads of stuff back there and he tried to scan some stuff with the pricegun to find me cheap games. Makes me wonder what treasures are at the back of these stores like Kmart & Sears, being so unorganized up front I just can't imagine the back. I would love to go back there and just see it all for myself!

or I guess you could just buy an employee shirt off ebay and then just walk back there.

I only bought OverG, because I really wanted it.

I went to 2 stores in Fort Worth and 1 in Tucson this week, and I found no where near the deals reported here.
 
I just found and purchased DDR: Mario Mix at a Salem, OR Sears for $17.97. It was the only one they had but I thought I would let others know that the price has dropped below what the OP has listed.

I think the OP needs to update some of those prices. I can honestly say that most of those games are incorrect after having been to 10 Sears stores in 3 different states. DOA4 rang up at $20+ at every single store. Chances are likely if you go to a store that you will get that kind of price before you get a

Because they hate you? Seriously though, all prices listed in this thread are a HUGE YMMV.

My one local Sears has the usual bins loaded up with $19.99 and under games and my closest Sears looked like someone just came through and pulled up the entire first level of games, then stacked them in stacks and knocked them over back into the bin, effectively covering the rest of them with games laying every which way.

It took me 30-40 minutes to dig through that shit the other night, just to find out that the lone copy of Subsistence had been pilfered from that massive collection of shit.

My local Sears were a gold mine at one point, with multiple copies of Ico and War Of The Monsters for PS2 still in the bin, but once Sears started doing like Kmart and Best Buy with those annoying fuckin front lane games, the bins became a chore to pick through.

Plus, the few games that SHOULD be super cheap, still come up as the old prices, since it's obvious the electronics people are more concerned with making sales of TVs than selling something they feel should sell themselves, so the updates take forever to take effect.

I just wonder if they have a collection of games sitting in the back collecting dust also.

What I hate is also how every employee I have talked to insists prices at every Sears are the same when we all know they aren't.

With DOA 4, I found it for $19.97 at one store. Another store had it for $4.97 but was OOS. I asked at the first store if I buy it for $19.97, can I take it to the $4.97 store, will they adjust the price. He said yes even though he though the price is the same at all stores. I tell the clerk at the $4.97 store, I want a price adjustment. He scans it and enters a refund of $15.00.

It needs a managers approval. They call over the manager and they refuse saying they don't price adjust clearance items. I say I was told at the first store I could. They told me no store adjusts on clearance (CC anyone?), and I have to go back to the first store. One problem, how do I convince the first store it's $4.97 at the second store and what if I get a different employee? (not to mention the trouble of having to go back to the store 20 minutes away). A second manager comes over and said all prices are the same. I said then how can it be less here? They said it might have been marked down just to get rid of it (well, duh, isn't that the whole point of clearance?).

I then asked to do a return and rebuy. They said I couldn't do that as a return has to go through a whole process and get re-ticketed.

I saw I had no chance of winning the argument, and I was going to criticize their way of handling clearance (almost everything is in the case unmarked) but decided not to since it's better not to have everything properly tagged.
