Went to one sears last night, they had GH World Tour for 360 & Wii but both rang out of system. Bakugan 360 was still $12.97 and Hawx PS3 was $11.97.
Now that SHC Gamer said that the "days of $5 games" are over, I wonder how he really plans to get rid of all the crap games that are sitting around.
When did SHC say the $5 games are over??? He is a CAG face for Sears/KMart so why would he do something like end the glorious $5 games?? Also I picked up tons of games for less then $5 from Sears the last couple months (Boy and His Blob, Loco Roco 2, Singstar Vol. 2, Viva Pinata, TNA Impact).
Point being there are still $5 games it's just a matter of if you can find any or not.
Hello. I'm relatively new to CAG and find myself already pretty obsessive about checking the site for deals. I appreciate the amazing deals shared in the community.
I am trying to figure out exactly how the Sears clearance prices work. I know it's a YMMV. I read the beginning of the thread and several recent pages but I'm still not sure how this is working. I would appreciate help with two questions if possible.
1) Are the low prices you are finding games at ONLY from their clearance bins? My store has newer titles I've read in this thread as being really cheap, but are still in the "new" area. Should I be price checking if I hear about a good deal on a specific game from this thread, or is it a pretty strong YMMV?
2) Are the clearance bin sticker prices usually higher then what they actually ring up as? In example, my local Sears has a BUNCH of PS2 games on clearance but most are priced at $19.99. I'd love to pick up Shadow of the Colossus but not for $20. Is the actual price most likely cheaper then what is shown?
I stopped by my local Sears tonight (I reported yesterday about sears.com listing 1600 Microdsoft Points for $14.97) and found lots of red/pink stickered items but not at the prices I am reading here. None of the gaming items at my local Sears are behind glass, so that should help.
Thanks for any help you can provide! Paul
1) No they are everywhere you just need to keep up with the thread to see what games are on clearance (a while back they put Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Metroid Prime Trilogy on clearance and they were still in the glass case)
2) No the sticker price doesn't necessarily match actual price (though I have seen stickers placed over the real UPC with the "manager's clearance price") grab the game you think is on clearance and go to one of the price checkers to see if it's on clearance
