Official TEKKEN 6 Thread

Holy shit Bob is a beast.

I wonder what he feels like to play.

He kinda looks like a fat female fast version of Nina, with short arms.
Every character has a running attack, some just have special/non generic ones.

Dragunov, Steve, King, Armor King, Julia, and a bunch of other chracters have special moves that are running moves. I'm too lazy to list them all.
I really have to stop posting when I'm tired -- this is the second time in a row I didn't make any sense. I meant Dragunovs' running 2 into a juggle seems like a pretty unique option for him, since most other nonstandard running moves (King's dropkick, Nina's leg throw starter, Kazuya's jumpkick, etc) won't work as launchers.

I'm almost sure there's at least one other character that has a running-into-launcher move... for some reason I'm thinking steve, but I know I'm wrong since I know what his move is like exactly.

Oh yes... Dragunov's is the only one that gives him a free juggle.

Law's running 3 jump kick gives him a free d/b+3 now though...

Check the T6 update section on my site. Some new vids from Korea featuring MaDDoGJin's Hwoarang (2008 Korean National Champion).

Nuts!
So, going by the Japanese fiscal year, which ends in April, that would put the console release sometime in the fall....?

Sept/Oct?

Does that sound right to people?
Any truth to that release date?

http://sdtekken.com/2008/10/07/tekken-6-not-coming-to-ps3-but-bloodline-rebellion-is/

Namco Bandai held a special press conference yesterday (just a few days before Tokyo Game Show), where they went over new and upcoming titles and other special announcements. One of the announcements was that Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion will be heading to the PLAYSTATION 3 (no word when) and will have MORE content than the arcade version (big surprise!)… IGN was at the event and mentioned in their latest podcast that the PS3 will NOT be getting the regular version of Tekken 6, which was released late 2007 in arcades. More news as we get it!

I think it's time we resurrected this thread.

IGN has a hands on with Tekken 6, only a couple of new things mentioned (well at least to me it's new). It has a rage mode you go into when you're low on health BUT most important of all: a stage filled with sheep. Fighting in a field of sheep, what else is there to say really?

Edit: Shitt, I was underwhelmed by the screenshots they had posted before but after watching the gameplay movies, my fucking jaw dropped. Looks incredible in motion.

Don't be pissed. be happy more people get to play it.

I do see that the 360 version will be filled with assholes who talk too much and scrubs. PS3 at least you don't have to hear the assholes.

As long as you can still play it on your system of choice, it shouldn't matter that Tekken's multi-platform.
Alright DarkKenpaichi, you might have a reason to be pissed: Tekken has Soulcalibur syndrome with console specific content.

Hopefully console specific content doesn't mean "we lock this shit away on the disc so we can sell you the PS3/360 unlock key 2 months down the line".
Don't fear even if it's guest characters.

Home releases for Tekken have always had special content, and from SCIV we know eventually guest characters can be downloaded... for better or worse.

True, true.

I wonder what the specific content is though, couldn't be anything else other than guest characters or customization items.

to be honest, I hope it's not a guest character because Tekken BR's character roster is already damn huge... I expect more customize items and whatnot...

also online seems to be headed in the right direction.

blah im still angry. it just feels dirty. I understand why things are the way they are but in the end I am one of the few who expect system exclusives to stay system exclusives.

I don't want Halo on ps3
not do I want to see Uncharted on 360

im just a bitter old man. lol

neways DLC these days is getting to be silly. If I am going to pay 5+ dollars for something I want it to be original content not an unlock key. unlock keys should only be 1-2 thats it.

i know how you feel.. i feel the multiconsole games seem to lack or be a lil dissapointing because they have to be dumbed down/simplified to work on the base model 360 with no hdd. They are not as epic imo, as say MGS4 was.

I can see it from that viewpoint as well, but the game has been polished enough where the development time and concentration are not a problem.

I feel the 360 version is going to be the most bought but the least playable as well.

i really wish the free overnight shipping had covered this deal when gamestop was running the free shipping on tekken 6, but sadly the stick combo wasn't covered...at least saver worked.

I figure with all the fighting games for the psn i have/will be buying, this will be well worth it. Besides, I haven't made a "crazy gaming purchase" in a while so my wife won't be able to complain too loudly.

@ any of the fighting game verterans:
Ive always been a fan of Tekken and I am looking at the special edition bundle. Is that a decent stick or would I be better off finding a deal for another stick and buying the game separate. I dont play a lot of other fighters as I am not a very big SF fan.

Do any of you use the stick for other game types aside from the standard arcade-esque games?

I second the question: I know its a stretch to ask since the actual fight stick never made it out of the public but does anyone have any idea of the quality of this stick at all? any websites that shows the innards or actually did some real time testing? I would buy it for the wireless feature but I dont want to buy something with break-easy junk parts?

I think everybody is saying the Tekken stick will be like all the other Hori licensed arcade sticks, made with Hori buttons and stick. While it's good and the average person probably wouldn't notice, the hardcore fighting fan will want to get a HRAP3 stick or custom built their own with Sanwa parts.
