Edit by Io - The most recent (1/26) drops are in the very beginning of the second post, so look there first!

------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT -- Feb 4th
Things have changed drastically since I started this thread and I've gone from a quality control monitoring job with other duties thrown in to monitoring double the amount plus the work of others. Bascially, I now do the job of three comparing the company now to that of a year ago thanks to layoffs and not hiring to replce people leaving. Plus I generally work 6 days a week and often ten hours with no break. I'd quit, but I have a hunch that our department will be hubbed in another city around July and I might as well hang in for the layoff package. Basically, this means I have zero time for internet and thread managing the way it should be done. My trade list and pm box fall by the wayside and I hardly email or even check my facebook/myspace. I didn't even find time to manage my fantasy football team and will completely forego baseball.

I know IO is busy enough as it is with a couple of threads, but if anyone wants to take over this thread and start a new one, please do so. Of course, I should have all the time in the world to keep it up to date if you want to wait unitl around July.

I got tired of going to TRU for the most recent clearance drops only to find more here on CAG from one of the three threads after I got back from the store. So I've compiled a list from the posts of Starving Gamer, Benboxer, life.exe, cmosfm, Kevzik's pics of lists at his store, the lists I saw at local TRUs and the many posts of awesome CAGs in those threads. I am by no means associated with TRU and I don't have inside information on upcoming drops, but I wanted to post a consolidated list to help other CAGs. As new drops occur Benboxer, Starving Gamer and anyone else is welcome to post new lists here and/or in seperate threads for more attention for the new items and I'll update the OP for total lists. Please keep in mind that some of these games are YMMV on price and as with all ongoing clearances availability is always YMMV as well. Most 9.90, 5.00 and 3.00 games are from the recent drop of a couple weeks ago. Thanks again for everyone's contributions and especially those early lists. I wanted to get this up and running and will do some tidying to the list as necessary. I'm not familiar with every game on the list so feel free to post or pm inconsistencies in titles!

NEW PLEASE READ SEE POST #2 FOR LATEST DROPS
A few things about pricing. All of the last round of drops are 9.90, 5.00, or 3.00. A lot of the 9.90 games were 19.98 before, most of the 5.00 were 9.98 and most of the 3.00 were 5.00. So if you see a game that is 19.98, chances are it may drop to 9.90 next drop which will probably be in a few months. As with any clearance a lot of these games may have been sold out at your store before they were even clearanced and now that the latest drop has been at least a month those games may be hard to find now, too. I do still see several 19.98 some 9.90 and some 5 & 3 games in this area. Don't forget to check the glass case and you can ask if a game is in back as sometimes this is the case.

Don't forget to post your trade wishes and wants in the Official TRU Trading Thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121672

READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE CHECKING THE LIST
Games in blue are from the latest drop, most of which were on clearance already at higher price points.
Games in green are VERY RARE games from the latest drop that were originally shipped to stores in VERY LIMITED quantities when the game was released and only a very few CAGs have found these.
Games in Yellow are have been widely reported as YMMV as pertains to price point.
Games in Orange are new reports that are awaiting confirmation

I've never needed to have the games in hand...maybe he thought you jumped someone out in the parking lot and took their receipt.

Like when you call your credit card company and the automated system has you type in your information and then the first thing the representative does is ask for that information again for "security purposes". What? Like if I was attacked in the last 30 seconds and replaced by an identity thief?

Nahh, he sadi he was electronics manager, and since the difference was over $10 he had leeway on requirements or something.

I just think he didn't want to refund the $10 and was hoping I didn't have the game with me to deny or complicate the PM.

Thats what you get for leaving WI ha ha.. I have never needed anything in hand but the sales slip to make any kind of adjustments so I think you just got stuck with a new manager and hes going to try and be tuff..

Stopped by TRU on my lunch break to pick up some games for a fellow CAG and today they had "Rewards R Us", which is basically like BB's RewardZone except it only lasts until December?

So, you can get $5 for every $150 you spend through the end of the year.
Update time, nothing new for the week of 10/20.
I saw the Xbox 360 Prey for 5 dollars in the glass case yesterday.

i gotta go by toys r us and get prey

My TRU has Castlevania: Dracula X for PSP for 9.98.. They've got about 6 of them, so i'm waiting for it to hit 5 bucks.

That strategy didn't work with Parappa though...

Man, I just picked up 3 games, but I'm pissed because they weren't tagged as clearance during the Buy 2, Get 1 Free sale and were on the shelves, not in the clearance bin:

:ps2: BUZZ! The Hollywood Quiz
:ps2: BUZZ! The Mega Quiz
:psp: Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles

Had to spend $9.98 on each instead of $9.98 on two and getting one for free. Oh well, can't really complain about the price points. This was at the Tigard, OR store. I think there were 2 more Castlevanias and a few more of each BUZZ! games along with a couple of the BUZZ! Junior titles. Besides that, I saw Viva Pinata: Party Animals, DDR Disney Channel, and really that's about all I thought was interesting.

During the Buy 2, Get 1 Free sale, I picked up DDR Supernova 2, DDR Disney, and FFTactics for PSP.

Yeah, it doesn't take much for one hoarder to snatch them all up in an instant. I've seen it happen many times while I waited for something in seemingly good quantity to get just a little lower in price. Take my advice and buy one now.

Buy it now, save the receipt, get a price adjustment when the price drops again.

The policy for price adjustments is 14 days after purchase.

Huh, well I've never had a problem with it several weeks after.

The TRU in my area wouldn't even price adjust clearance stuff. They said you could return it but it wouldn't go back to the sale floor immediately.

Finally, something to update here... price changes take effect Monday 12/8.

Original Guitar Hero 3 Bundles dropping to $49.98

Price is good for all systems (PS2, PS3, 360 & Wii)

And that is all for now...

Oh good. I was worried. I seem to spend a lot on TRU clearances. I bought this when it came out and don't know anyone to buy it for. Thanks for not forgetting about this thread. Let's hope there's a sweet drop coming up!

Cool, have to get a bundle for my wife on XMAS.
It still rings up at 49.99 at my store...When will this motherfucker drop!
It will do just like it did at my local store, sat at $49.99 forever and one week I went in and the guy said it dropped and someone bought all 5 copies

Just to give you guys a heads up. NHL 08 9.98, Tony Hawks Proving Ground 9.98 NBA Live 08 9.98. Was some others as well. Check your stores to see if they got a shipment of 9.98 games in. They will also work for the buy 2 get 1 half off until the sale ends tonight. All of them have generic upc's printed on the outside of the game that rings up PS3 Value Ast or 360 Value Ast for 9.98.

Just a heads up if anyone is looking for a Zune. The old 30 gig pink limited editions are 49.98$ on clearance from 249.99$, not to bad.

Has this already dropped at your store? My store still has it for $179 and I havn't seen it in any price change reports for my store.

Yea it's been 49.98 for almost a month and a half. I live in Ma and work at the TRU in Auburn, but sold all of them in the last couple of weeks.

Thanks. I've been waiting for this one to drop for a while now. Hopefully my store will follow suit soon.

Has anyone found Zack & Wiki lately? I got one about a month ago and gave it to my brother as a Christmas present, but now my sister wants one, too. (PM me because I have some other clearance games to trade.)
any ideas when there will be a price drop for halo 3: legenary ed? i saw one gathering dust on the shelves.
Best thing you can do is have them scan it...

i did that a few days back, but it still rings up as $89.99, yet the website lists as $39.98. of course, TRU refuses to PM their own website.

Yeah I never understood how a store will not honor prices on the web site.. unless it says online only these days site/store are the same thing.

Didn't Bestbuy get in trouble for that a few years back about charging people more in store for items then online and thats why you see specific items marked online only or in-store only?

yeah, BB did get into a heap of trouble, but they do pricematch.

TRU, on the other hand, does not have a price-matching policy and thus, will not honor their own online price. i spoke to a manager about this and she stated that it costs more to ship to a store than it is from the warehouse to a residence, even with s&h charges factored in. additionally, the website and the store are two different entities managed by two separate companies.

Ha ha thats great so the online company can parade you all they want because the person will contact TRU to do the bitching... :applause:

That wasn't quite what they got into trouble for-- they had in-store kiosks that looked EXACTLY like Bestbuy.com and claimed to be bestbuy.com, but the prices were all the in-store prices. So someone would see a cheap price online, then go to the store, use a kiosk to claim a cheaper price online, but then see the same price. The issue was the deception that you were looking at an entirely separate intranet site but it claimed to be the same site as you'd see online.

Now the kiosks have big yellow banners saying that the pricing shown reflects store prices.

I worked for toys r us during the holiday season and they explained to us about the policy of the online store compared to our store. She said that we aren't allowed to price match online because they may have a bigger inventory and are trying to get rid of it to make room for newer stuff. I don't think its right either because working in the R Zone you had people come in and cuss you out because the price online isn't the same as in the store.

I wanted to do that (cuss someone out) when Rondo of Swords was $30 in store, but $20 online, and I couldn't get it with the B1G1 50% off. But it wasn't the CSR's fault, so I couldn't blame him. It just sucked that the price scanners don't read through those big stupid cases most games come in, and I had to wait in a huge line to get to the register just to find out the prices.
