I got quite a few games this weekend. However, I was unable to find

Arc the Lad Collection
Dragon Warrior 7
Paper Mario

Does anyone have extra of these? I got most of what I wanted on the list but since I've been out, the list has grown, so I will probably head out today and look for a few more. If anyone who has one of the above mentioned games wants anything, I will try and find it for a trade. Right now I have extra copies of Skies of Arcadia, and Ikagura, and Pokemon Puzzle League. I saw Front Mission 3 so I might be able to get that.

I saw someone ask about stores in Illinois and I can report that I have been to the stores in Orland Park, Matteson, Joliet, and Bourbonnais and aside from a few games here and there, the selection is mostly the same. I found Morrowind GOTY in Joliet though and just had to pick that up.

There is one MVC2 left at my Bourbonnais store and I'm considering whether or not I want to get it still. If you check out all of those stores, I'm sure there will be something there that will make you happy.

I can confirm the TRU in Frisco does not have Rebel Strike. I'm going to the Plano store today to see if they have it. I did pick up Midnight Club 2 (Xbox) at the Frisco store for $10 though.

Did you ask him to total it all? You have to total it to see the discount. After it is totalled you can then remove whatever game you don't want. Also I am not sure, but I don't think when it says "PROMO" it is half off. That happened to me with Nightshade for PS2. It said PROMO when it rang up, but after the total there was no discount.
 
Yes, some PS2 bundles are 1/2 off, I picked one up on Friday. They had a few of them up by the cash register with a clearly marked sign that they were 50% off. I know it's the older model PS2 but I figured for 1/2 off it was still a good deal. I know some people have reported getting the newer model bundle as well but I had them check and it was only the older one at my store.

just got back from my TRu, the 5 games I was looking/hoping for [but not really expecting to find of course]:

and the confusing one:
Ratchet and Clank Going Commando. None on the shelf, about 6 behind the counter. Asked for it, rung up 39.99 PROMO. Totaled it....42.61...um, okay.
I was kind of in shock, and by that point the card machine was waiting for my signature, so I went ahead and got it.
Options: return it and wait/look elsewhere; keep it and hope it'll go on sale 8/22, and return for a pricematch [does TRU do that?].
What does "PROMO" mean then?
And congrats if anyone gets the hardware for 1/2 off, I'm really surprised they'll take that much of a hit on the hardware.
 
Yo Redline, if you find a Rebel Strike let me know, also if there are any games you are looking for let me know and I can see if I can find them also, maybe we can trade or something. I have visited a couple in the Dallas and Irving area.

I went to the casino last night and didn't get home until the middle of the night. But, I can't sleep now! There are games to buy!...:D
 
just got back from the Berlin, CT TRU and scored some good buys - some games havent dropped yet(ssx3 on PS2) and Im still trying to hunt down KILL.SWITCH on XBOX....(any help)....I'll try to hit another TRU today - does anyone want me to search for anything? PM me

went to the dearborn TRU and picked up virtual fighter 4 ($10, they have a bunch left for PS2) and Sega Tennis 2k2 ($5 dreamcast, last one) they had a lot of sega bass fishing games for $2.50 I had to run out to the westland store to pickup silent hill 3 for $10, PS2 they still had one left out on the shelves but had zero selection for dreamcast Thanks for the post OP man with the circuit city deal and now this i have a ton of games still shrink wraped and ready to play
 
yeah id like that 2 cause I got assed outta TENCHU on XBOX and SSX3 on PS2 - neither one has dropped here, maybe its just another YMMV deal but i heard nationwide universal drops
 
Just went to the TRU on John R and 14mile in MICHIGAN.

They had a nice amount of games, although I was only interested in XBOX

Not too bad....I figure if they blow, I can always trade them in at Gamerush.

doubledown- I beat XII and really enjoyed it
I picked up Beyond Good and Evil as well because my girlfriends brother loved it on GC
Metal Gear 2 was enjoyable, but alot of just watching movies, lol
and I just picked up swat last week and my brother has been playing it and really likes it, I've joined him in some co-op missions and its a nice change of pace- you cuff people and whatnot, instead of just shooting everything.

Don't worry about it dude. No "Tenchu" price drop for XBox here too. I really wouldn't have minded it too.

Slide there are only 15 in the WHOLE TRU system so you'll be hardpressed to pick one up.

Ok here are the games I can get for people(VERY limited basis, this is what I checked on YESTERDAY and I can't say they'll be around for long so PM me if you want them and you can paypal me for the games & S&H). Note this. I will NOT trade except for certain games(Dragon Warrior VII and Paper Mario) otherwise I don't have the money to lose. Why waste your money then? Don't buy something if you don't want it. I bought 4 games because I have NEVER played them before, and they are only about twice the cost of a rental. I could've bought more, but decided against it. I know most people will buy games to trade them in and try to get the BEST deals...however, I don't think the $10 games are really that great for Trade-In fodder. Gamerush is offereing trade in 2 games and get $20 off preorder. If you trade in 2 $10 games, it was pointless.

I may trade mine in if I don't like them after a while, but I will play them...eventually.
 
Btw a warning people. With Onimusha Tactics I got an empty box. When I brought it home I thought it felt a little too light then checked inside and no luck. Luckily I went back and they had enough copies to find one WITH said game but I'm just warning you people to check the box now before you leave the store.

That sucks and I'd say you were pretty lucky to have TRU believe you. Now I'm going to have to open the XBOX games I bought yesterday.
 
Actually I don't think you'll have much of a problem noticing it if it didn't have it. Light and all but yeah I guess you might as well check with the regular games too.
