Official WarHawk Discussion: **Patch 1.5/"Falling Star" OUT!**
Somehow I found myself in the Sony forums just now and noticed this post about some server changes going live tomorrow:

Original post here.
I wonder if that is why I was booted due to a newtowrk error tonight.....

All games’ time limits were reduced to 15 minutes, and ZNS score limit was reduced to 5000, to combat complaints of prolonged base camping.

fuckING BULSHIT!!!!!!

15 minutes is NOT that much time for CTF and Zones on large maps and really is not enough time for medium maps. It seems like in each of these server updates they take at least one thing and fuck it up 100% then shove it up thier ass and think they did a great job. So fucking stupid..... This will make lots of the "IAR" things that much harder to get.

You've really outdone yourself this time.

Except... That guy on the right has dishonored his clan!!

They'll be increasing the time or decreasing some of the IAR requirements for sure.
There's one warhawk badge/ribbon/medal/something that requires 20 minutes inside of a warhawk...:error: does not compute...
Color me noobish... but, what does IAR mean? :whistle2:#
In A Round...

what color is noobish anyways?
I, I... I... I don't know! :whistle2:#
It's red, because that's what narbs are covered in when I get through with em' ;O
Nice to see a bunch of CAGers into Warhawk. I play almost every night. Add me on your list if you want...to be schooled. ;)
I didn't know a CAG clan existed until i played with one just a few nights ago. Can't remember who. Anyway, that prompted me to dig deeper into the forum...and voila, found this thread.

I'm part of CCS (Crazy Canadian Soldiers). At the moment, i'm a one man clan as most of my clan mates have been too occupied playing Crack of Duty. So it'll be nice to play with CAGers.

That was probably me, since I remember cursing your name a few times. When I saw you at tonight's clan game I thought our super-secret password had been cracked again. If you'd like a clan invite, showing up to a few CAG nights usually does the trick. We've also just entered a GGL tournament (details in another thread) if you're interested.

I'm not ready to abandon my clan as of yet, but will keep CAG in mind.

So it looks like there will be another booster soon and now trophies!

Warhawk trophies and patches detailed, new booster hinted

Filed under: e-Distribution Games, Game Patches
Passed on to us by Sony's Harvard Bonin, we found out some interesting notes on Warhawk trophies from game director Dylan Jobe: "there has been some talk about Warhawk trophies super-auto-magically going LIVE late tonight when the firmware is released. This is not the case." This all means, in a nut shell, trophies for Warhawk won't be ready upon 2.40's release and, in fact, for quite awhile -- read on.

As we've mentioned previously in our firmware 2.40 guide, games released prior to 2.40 (such as Warhawk) will have to be patched. So, the big question is: when will the Warhawk v1.4 patch hit? Now here is where things get a little funny; trophy support will not be found in v1.4 but, as Jobe states, will be found in the v1.5 patch. Neither v1.4 nor v1.5 have fixed released dates, but Jobe sounds very sure that both will be seen "very very very" soon.

To give us something to look forward to, Jobe details that Warhawk will have 56 trophies set up in v1.5. Ten will be based off "current stats/rank/awards system" and can be retroactively attained. 34 trophies are entirely new and based off the core gameplay, which ultimately means happy hunting for you. The last 12 are set aside as booster pack-specific awards. With four per booster, and only two booster packs currently released (Omega Dawn and Broken Mirror), it sounds like to us that a third booster will be ready in time for v1.5.

Very cool. I got some updates about the patches from freaky and Smog (thanks to in-game XMB :)), but I just got around to reading the post. I was worried when they said 1.5 since it seemed to take forever to go from 1.2 to 1.3, but it sounds like they're practically done.

56 trophies sounds kind of daunting, but I'm really curious to see what they are. That's actually half the fun of trophies/achievements for me... just seeing what crazy feats the developers thought were noteworthy enough.

Lets hope for DD that APC juming is on the list

Yeah here's dylan's official post :whistle2:

Hey Everyone!

Sorry I've been MIA -- we have been just cranking on our new updates for all of you; the v1.4 Patch, the v1.5 Patch and yes...our next booster pack.

The team and I have been watching the internets light up with discussions about the trophies in 240 and we thought it was good idea that you got an update straight from the horses mouth...me being the horse I guess :)

So...YES, hot trophy action for Warhawk is on the horizon!

Since Warhawk released almost a year ago now, we will be patching-in support for the new trophy system. The reason I mention this is because there has been some talk about Warhawk trophies super-auto-magically going LIVE late tonight when the firmware is released. This is not the case. I know the press release stated that Warhawk trophies were going to be patched-in, but I just wanted to clarify for everyone.

We are right on the cusp of making some big announcements for Warhawk, including our upcoming patches and new booster-pack and while I can't talk about any of those right now (you will need to wait like a week or so) I can talk a bit about our trophy support in the v1.5 patch.

First off, there are 56 trophies included in the Warhawk v1.5 Patch. These are broken down into a couple of categories:

 • There are 10 trophies based on the Warhawk's current stats/rank/awards system. Like getting all your Bronze badges, attaining a specific rank, or earning a number of medals.
 • There are 34 trophies that are entirely *new* rewards based on Warhawks core game and not based on our current stats, ranks or other awards.
 • There are then 4 trophies per booster pack that are, of course, completely new awards.
Developing 56 new trophies was a really fun part of the v1.5 production cycle...but 10 of them are based on stats and awards that you, our community may have already earned -- so that's why we made sure that those 10 trophies based on our core stats system would be paid out retroactively. Meaning, that once the v1.5 patch is released, and if you've already earned the requirements for those trophies *bling*bling*bling* Warhawk will pay them out to you! (RETROACTIVE!)

Lastly, cause I know everyone will be asking the obvious question, when is the v1.5 Patch coming out...we haven't even *officially* announced the v1.4 Patch!!!???

All I am allowed to say is that the v1.4 Patch is very, very, very close to being released and we actually developed the v1.5 Patch in parallel, but staggered, with the v1.4 Patch. The reason we did this is because there are stuffs in the v1.4 Patch that we wanted to get out to everyone ASAP...but the v1.5 patch isn't that far behind!

Hopefully that clears things up!

~~~~~~Be the HERO~~~~~~
~~~~~Horde the CORES~~~~

Dylan is so in touch with fans of Warhawk its crazy. This game is still getting mad support a year after release. Here's to hoping that 1.4 includes new game modes, and Zones is forever abolished.

New patch 1.4 news at PSBlog! Plus the very near release date: Wednesday, 7/16 at 3AM PDT/6AM EDT!

Some highlights:

New Gameplay Mode “Hero”

This is a team-based game mode in which one member of each team is randomly selected to be their team’s Epic Hero. Players score points for their team by killing the enemy Hero or by killing enemies while they’re the Hero. The team that reaches the score limit first (or has the most points when time runs out) wins the game.

New Gameplay Mode “Collection”

This new gameplay mode is like multi-flag CTF. There are 4 energy cores scattered around the map, generally positioned in the center or between the 2 team’s main bases. Each team has a Reactor where Energy Cores are taken to score points.
There are a bunch of little tweak updates, too. This one makes me happy because I always try to do this:

Afterburner Flight to Hover Transition: Previously, if you were flying the Warhawk (or Nemesis) with the afterburners engaged, you were disallowed from transitioning into hover mode. While this may have been a bit more realistic, Warhawk is more about fun than realism and not being able to transition into hover when you want to need to is frustrating! So now, you can switch to hover mode even if your afterburner is engaged.
And best of all, it's still free, free, free!

It's great to hear about 1.4, especially with it coming so soon. I hope 1.5 follows fairly close, so I can start getting trophies, though it shouldn't be too long as they said they were developing them simultaneously.
They keep giving me reasons to love Warhawk.

TOW Missile:

The respawn rate modifier based on player count has been modified to take a longer period of time so that TOW missiles do not respawn as quickly in large player-count games.
:applause::applause:

New “Winning Team” Ribbon:

In an attempt to further promote teamwork, Warhawk now awards a new ribbon to every member of the winning team. With this “Winning Team” ribbon, each player also is awarded an additional 50 bonus points.

Holy fuck - 50 ponts????

Wow, I hardly ever get 50 points in a game (yes I'm a crappy newbie, and I liked playing domination for a while, which doesn't provide practice for fighting since it's more about being sneaky at least on the newbie servers I use)

Wow, I hadn't read the 50 points for the winning team. Especially nice to hear, as the higher ranks need lots of points (which they also seem to be changing slightly.)

Ohh good god...
Is "team switch off"/"team balance on" on official servers? If not, it'll be a mad rush for everyone to switch teams before the end.

And they need to add a "arming distance" to TOW missiles.

I was hoping for a minimum TOW distance, too. At least slowing the respawn down will mean people have fewer opportunities to unleash the shotgun maneuver.

What I was really hoping for when they were talking about minimap upgrades was that they'd add a feature that keeps it pointed north. It really helps me learn the maps and keep myself oriented. (Not that the former is still a major issue...) I wish they'd add that option to CoD4, too. In fact, they should add it to all games with a minimap. Is it really that difficult??

Maybe this is a complete Warhawk n00b question, but what is the shotgun maneuver?

Also I agree about wanting a north oriented minimap. It would make things a little nicer.

I'm going to say when teams coordinate TOW launches so they hit one after another.

Dylan says that those who switch out at any point during a game will not receive the 50 team points at the end... ;)

I actually just made it up to refer to when people zoom in and launch one point-blank. I thought it sounded cooler than the "zoom-in-and-launch-one-point-blank maneuver."

But I wonder if we will still continue to be ass-raped if we are in a smaller player count game....

;)
Ahh...
I always just thought of that as point blank TOW.

Come on man, you can't be making shit up and think everyone knows what you're talking about...:booty:;)

Kinda makes sense though...

You know what I was thinking of tonight during the E3 stuff....

I want Warhawk on the PSP. Now that would rock and be great for all the times the wife and kids take over the TV.

http://kotaku.com/5033133/warhawk-trophies-and-other-new-stuff-coming-at-the-end-of-the-month
When the PS3 trophy system was announced in June, Warhawk was to be one of the first pre-trophy games to be brought up to speed. They weren't fibbing! Sony have announced that, as part of Warhawk's 1.5 update, over 50 trophies will be introduced into the game, and they're being offered for achievements as diverse as hosting a game for four hours, playing a "perfect deathmatch" (come 1st, no deaths) and shooting down aircraft with a tank. The update will also introduce "custom music tracks from the Home Menu", new paint schemes and insignia and a range of tutorial missions to help new players out before jumping online. It'll be released on August 27.

Awesome news. :D

Holy crap...
A perfect DM... is that freaking possible?
I'm pretty good at DM, but there is no way I'd ever (legitimately) be able to pull that off.

Here's a page with a list of a few more trophies. Unfortunately it looks like the original article was taken down. Anyway, some of them, like the perfect DM one, sound totally impossible.

Community Building Trophies
- Bandwidth Donor: Host a ranked dedicated server for four consecutive hours.
- Rivalry: Win a clan match (red server) as either clan leader or a regular member.
Game Mode Trophies
- Lone Wolf: Play a perfect Deathmatch (first place, no deaths).
- Survivalist: Survive for one minute as the hero in Hero mode.
Vehicle Trophies
- Taxi Driver: Help a teammate capture the flag (in Capture the Flag) or cores (in Collection) by transporting him back to the base, using any vehicle.
- One In A Million: Shoot down an enemy aircraft using the tank's main cannon.
Warhawk Weapons Trophies
- How Did You Do That?: Destroy an enemy aircraft with a Cluster Bomb.
- Tail Shaker: Destroy an enemy aircraft with an Aerial Mine within five seconds of deploying it.
I can't even kill troops with a cluster bomb! :wall:
