I just got tales of destiny 2...... PREORDERED!

Neat little trick I just discovered while on the phone with electronics boutique after they dumped my cart during check out. It turned out that if you have the item number of what you want to order, you can preorder it and it will ship as soon as a new used item comes in stock.

Now this may seem like a normal backorder to you, but let me remind you that electronics boutique doesn't take back orders on the Web site deliberately -- it won't let you check out with these backorder items. So in other words, I'm literally first in line to get this game when it comes back.

Now who's going to be second :)

It turned out that if you have the item number of what you want to order, you can preorder it and it will ship as soon as a new used item comes in stock.
Maybe they'll start now that they have store availability... In any case, someone should start a EB item number database.

Not to be a wiseass, but EB has this information all ready. Everyone should write to customer service (as I already have) and tell them that you'd like the ability to have out of stock pre-owned games to be searchable and additionally you'd like some way of having them notify you if/when it comes back in for order. You could also mention how it would be nice to see if a local EB had a used game you sought as well.

To actually do any of these things, go here and click on the link on that page that says contact us by e-mail.

If enough of us ask for this type of capability, they may actually do something about it.

EB games may have it, but they won't give it to their employees who take the orders. The fellow I spoke to say he couldn't access the product numbers database himself even for stuff he wanted and the system would only produce the name of the game along with the preorder ability if he knew the product number.

I think more people will be willing to write in, if someone created a form letter to cut and paste into their e-mail that they only had have to sign and hit send for.

Anyone up to writing a bulletproof form letter?

Better yet, with a Web form like what the charity sites use, so that people don't even have to bother to log into their own e-mail to send it for the truly lazy?

Someone could write a script that tries every number on the EB website and logs the title. Even if its out of stock, the title will still show the item's name.

[quote name='schultzed']This morning, I got the Kirby . . . put it together with Earthworm Jim (used to have it and "need" another)

There's no way of knowing what cart they will actually send . . . I wouldn't trust their images.

As long as it is a super Nintendo cartridge, it's the bad version. Nintendo's sensors removed the intestines level that appears on all other versions of the game {Genesis, PC, GBA, the Ultra rare Sega CD edition}. In fact, in several interviews the people who were porting the game to the GBA told about how after fans had found out they were porting the super NES version, the fans deluged them with demands restore this level -- which they had to code from scratch basing on the Genesis version.

I'm surprised I never knew about this . . . I beat the SNES version years ago . . . didn't own a Genesis until recently.

Still wouldn't matter to me . . . the levels that are on the SNES cart will be enough for me . . . I'll have to get the Genesis version at some point.

Thanks for the info.

im tempted to get Fatal Fury but ill be pissed if i pay 30 for it only to find out im only getting the disk

Got in on the new Lunar 2, could not pass it up even for almost $50.

Heh, sealed Lunar 2 goes for over $100 on ebay... Looks like I got a deal. Not selling though... Not quite as good as my $35 Arc the Lad though.

There was more than one copy... Maybe they're letting a few trickle in throughout the week. One copy of Arc the Lad was in stock yesterday too.

Keep your eyes open if you want one.

They'd better ship this in a god damn box too. I swear to god if they ship this in one of those stupid yellow envelopes...

Are you kidding me? look at how much a lunar 2 srategy guide went for on ebay, that's more than the games are going for, not bad considering it was probably $0.01 when the guy bought it...
Its extremely rare and it looks like a high school textbook.
