I don't think people are checking the update until 7:30 now. I can't believe 7th Saga was just sitting there on the front page at 10 after. Today is like Christmas! I wish I hadn't lost Rocky and Pocky in checkout though =/. Is saw it on my checkout screen to add to order, but it wasn't working, so I just went through checkout, then when I went back and did a search and pulled it up I lost it. Can't complain with everything else I got though. PIECES!

How much did you get Pieces for and how much does it usually go for? I'm curious because you seem so damn excited.

I bet there is an ebb and flow as well. I've lost some of my zeal with the morning update. Partly because of the shifting time of update but also because I've gotten so much stuff and played so little of it. After awhile you get full and push away from the table . . . only to come back later.
 
Thanks for posting Puzzle League. I've always wanted to try that one out and for $5 it's a good price. They still have one more left!

BTW, I got Klonoa 2 last year and a complete version for $14.99 is a great deal for this game.

Man, I'm SOOO jealous about Valkyrie Profile!!!!! I started specifically checking every morning for that one about 6 weeks ago, and haven't seen it. It's possible someone bought it out before I even noticed...but I've never seen it in stock. I kinda assumed it never WOULD show up, something too rare a la gitaroo-man.

Well I picked up a copy of Klanoa 2. Sounds good and even if it isnt $12.50 isnt too terrible of a loss. Thanks for the info. By the way I love when you post psiufoxx2 .. I cant get enough of Morgan Webb.

I see it about once every month or two. Try again tomorrow, things have a way of appearing in streaks, but its one of those things thats gone within seconds of it being there because absolutely everyone wants it. Its $49.99 before coupons.

I have to agree with you there. I have benefitted so much from this topic over the past few months ( http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?p=923602#post923602 ) that it seems almost silly to buy anything else. I check on about a half a dozen games every morning, most of which don't show up, or get snagged from my cart, but it'll be a while before I go on a buying frenzy again.

Seems like this happens about every month or so, but after three or four weeks without snagging a batch of cheap goodness, I start to pine for it again...

I am curious as well. Is it a midnight thing or is it at dawn? I get up at 5:00 AM CST and it seems like I never find anything. I can't believe I missed out on MMX3 and MMX2 on the same day!!!!!
 
Wow. That's one hell of an update today. Here's the sequence of events this morning:

I wake up, tired as hell, right around noon. I've got work in 20 minutes. It's pouring outside, which means my job (at the park board) is going to be inside and a pain in the ass all day.

- I go upstairs, get a message that work is cancelled
- I look in my door, and my Maxtor 200 GB hard drive is there! I ordered the thing on Tuesday from Fry's Outpost with free 5-10 shipping, and it gets here overnight!
- I come and check the update, and a ton of games I want are in stock: Mario RPG, Lufia, Lufia II (er, they weren't in-stock...but there at least were for some time today! Just a good sign =P)_
 
damn... cant believe I missed out on Wizards and Warriors 3... one of the couple NES games I am trying to obtain... oh well... did pick up my Strider 2 from this thread about a week ago

Its worth it if you're not--but its no where near as good as the original. Honestly I was disappointed with it. But I had such high expectations for it...

And damn that SNES update is/was amazing.
 
Penguin: Pieces was 5.99 b/c. I'm mainly excited because while the game isn't expensive, it is rare and hard to find. I looked for it once on ebay recently, it'd been up like once in the past month and a half or so, and cart only went for about 15 or so. It's a jigsaw puzzle game, by Atlus of all people. As far as collector's value and such it's probably up there. I used to have the game when I was a kid, and have been keeping an eye out for it for a long time, which is probably half or more of why I'm so excited =p.
 
Haha, I've been missing the updates lately cause they've been low.

I missed Valkyrie Profile.. I won't miss it again. ;)

On top of that, it sells for under $10 most of the time on ebay (just saw it go for 2.50). This is one game that is overpriced on EB

It used to go for a bit more, before the GBC remake. Value used to be $15-20.

I wouldn't say that it was no where near as good as the original. True, I liked the original better, but Klonoa 2 was great. Nice style, solid gameplay (though somewhat less challenging). It's hard to top the emotion provided by the first game, but in terms of overall enjoyability, it ranks high on my list. Highly recommended for platforming fans, especially fans of the 2.5D variety (which are few and far between -- the 2.5D games, not the fans).
