I can't help it you keep bumping me back
Haha, two can play at that game. :bouncy: Nah, I kid, I don't mind the bumping back and forth.

Silent Hill is a very awesome series! I really need to get into Homecoming, it's the only Silent Hill game I haven't played yet.

so how is the wii version of shattered memories? i dont care for the psp version. i found myself wondering around not knowing where to go next.
Karl, we need to play Kane an Lynch sometime.
I'm going to upgrade my graphics card in about two weeks, I'll install it and then we can play since right now it's a bit choppy:roll:

I usually bump whoever I see on my last page and of course my CAG friends. I have silent hill homecoming on the PS3 but I only played the intro so far, I keep getting interrupted by people calling me to play multiplayer games:lol:

I have to admit it was a bit hard to find where i needed to go and to get used to the idea of not fighting the monsters but so far it's pretty good.
pm'd
I'll send a PM back to you today;)

Karl, you're computer blows.
So you're a Silent Hill fan, eh?

Give Laura's Requiem a listen to. I don't think there's anybody more important in my life than Akira Yamaoka. I've tried snatching that Lost Memories DVD as well :D
Oh hey Karl, you're computer blows too.

I can finally post in CAG! did anyone else get that weird database error all day yesterday (Sept. 1st).

Vulgarism... I actually have the soundtrack CD's from the first 3 games, they were a bonus when I bought them for the PC. I might actually have had the fourth games soundtrack but I think I might have misplaced it. I have too many game soundtrack discs so they usually just sit in an empty CD-R spindle, I'm sure I have the first three though because I ripped them to my MP3 player ;).

Megiddo_CAG I looked up ATHF so... I dub thee Meatwad
or Frylock if you prefer

5of9 I received your PM and replied to it, since there's a holiday coming up I will try to ship your stuff either Friday or Tuesday depending on when I receive your answer. ;)

bump...

i got on CAG at around noon that day, then i got the database error from 5pm until i finally stopped trying at midnight (central time).

Karl, your so funny. Those tight blue sweat pants are getting to you.

Meatwad is perfect for him, since we're both Karl. I don't have too many Silent Hill items that are really sought after, but I do have a few magazines with articles about each game, and some custom made Silent Hill game cover art.

I used to wear sweatpants in high school gym class during winter but they were baggy and red.

Luckily I bought almost everything just a little bit after it was released so it was pretty cheap. I did have to rebuy the cover art and manual for my PSX copy of Silent Hill since the originals were water damage:cry:
Then Who is the Drizzle?
I didn't get that far in the wikipedia article, are all the characters except Carl based on food?
bump...
congrats on the new grfx crd.
Thanks, I really needed one since some of the newest games I bought were having issues with the one I had.
Karl, I don't remember telling you, but: Doom3 is quite fun.
Yes, you already told me that you liked Doom 3 several times. It's a pretty good game which I consider a classic even though it's only six years old. ;)

Hey bro, stuff is finally going out today. Would have been saturday, but my bank was uber slow in processing my paycheck. :(

bump...

saw your posts on buffdrew84s thread about deadspace extraction & metroid:eek:ther m. the latter is an exceptionally great game. get past the fire part before passing judgement. its my favorite since the 1st prime. its on the wii, so its not a technical powerhouse, but it looks great (the artistic vision is there). havent finished it yet (about 7 hours in).

on deadspace extraction, would you still like it if youve never played dead space? i played like an hour of deadspace. going to get part2 (and ps3 version includes deadspace extraction - move enabled - but not required. i wont have move, but graphics will be updated). SO, im debating whether to wait and get it with ps3 deadspace2, or get deadspace2 on 360 (which i heavily prefer the controller & friends list) & trade for extraction on wii (since it'll be a while before release).

sorry for the essay on my thoughts, but wanted to give my opinion on metroid (cuz thats what ive been playing).
I hope dreamfall is good though, because I am going to be disappointed if its not.
I liked Dreamfall a lot but it depends on if you're into adventure games, I don't think they make those anymore so...

I've been a Metroid fan since the series started so I have high hopes that the latest game will be fun. I know that Team Ninja is the new developer though so I don't know how closely they stuck to the original storyline and gameplay. I still love to play really old games so I'm not too concerned with graphics.

I actually like the Wii version a little better than the PS3 version, it reminds me of the Arcade games I used to play.I heard about the PSN version but the Wii version is for two players and I can't use Move since I'm still on an older firmware because I want to keep my OtherOS.;)

I used to have the original Metroid and Super Metroid cartridges but I traded them when I got rid of my NES and SNES systems. Luckily the Wii came out and I have them again on my virtual console. If you like Metroid check out my Metroid album from a while back, I need to update it to include the pixelart I bought from DeadBodyMan11 :D http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/album.php?albumid=5874&pictureid=10494

yeah, i noticed it a while back. i love your avatar. just some people that love metroid are bagging hard on the game, and i think its unwarranted. it mixes the best between old school metroids & the primes. it was co-developed by team ninja, but the main metroid guy (forgot name) was in total control of the story (and i wouldnt be able to tell team ninja was involved if i didnt know ahead of time). team ninja most definitely did the gorgeous cutscenes, but the gameplay isnt overtly team ninja (except the throws samus can do). im interested in hearing your thoughts after you finish the game (as i havent finished it either).

SO FAR, depending on the length (cuz some say its a 9hr game), it could be my favorite metroid yet. im 7hrs in & there is no way im at the end - but i love exploring, in awe, all the small technical feats the great games pull off. every battle is like a miniboss fight (and theres no "i just got this weapon, so its gotta be how to take this boss down"). maybe some of that in finding secrets, but u use almost your whole arsenal against every type of enemy (except the little spiked enemies & bees, which u just shoot no matter your weapon). you will enjoy (but the 1st hr is pretty boring).

Thanks for the bumps ;)

I started playing Other M yesterday for about two hours, I had a few issues with the controls but so far it's pretty good. Sometimes when I change the orientation of the Wiimote the interface has problems, it gets stuck switching between first and third person view a few times. I wish they would have implemented the usage of the nunchuk to change to scanning mode and enabled moving and looking around with the stick on the nunchuk. Also, the restrictions on weapon usage are annoying and don't really make sense.

I would rather have had environments that were destructible and be warned not to use powerful weapons so as not to destroy anything unnecessarily. I also don't see the need to jump on an enemies head when I have a charge beam and rockets, I guess that was Team Ninja's idea. Super Metroid is still my favorite so far since the storyline and game play couldn't have been any better at the time.

A bump for you.

I had a busy two weeks, but I am now ready to prepare for my lowball sale. Just gotta take pics of my stuff before I start selling them.
Bump, I think your link to my tradelist is outdated. ;)
You're right, I completely forgot about it.#-o

So is the lowball sale going to take place before this weekend? My brother who lives in Las Vegas is coming to visit me this Friday and I expect to be busy until he leaves Sunday.

sorry you arent liking it, but i didnt start liking it till the sector 3 (heat area). from then on i was used to controls, etc. i love the throw moves (jumping on heads). each enemy has 2 different versions of throws (it does it on its own if u just approach while holding '1' button when they have low energy, or when u jump on top - stronger guys will kick you off). it gets progressively better.

i swear it feels like im playing a completely different game than the people who arent liking it (and there are many). i love that the story is told like a next gen game through cutscenes (full screen- very good for wii on an hdtv), and not through scanning text files. i miss the bestiary, though. let me know when you finish it if you still feel the same. btw, you'll want to go back after beating the story for....some really cool extension of the game (not a new game plus, cuz u start from where u beat the final boss w/ ALL missed extras highlighted on map - unlike during initial campaign where only easier items are shown). took me 25 hours to get through entire game w/ 99% completion. missed one item. know where its at but could not get to a certain missle expansion (and had to mail for trade). hope it gets better for you. keep in touch, and take care.

I have not encountered any framerate issues while playing AVP, having said that, I really only played it for an hour or so.

went to the midnight reach release and ended up leaving early. im picking it up today. they were raffling off tiny posters and thats it. they told me when i preordered it that they might raffle off a legendary edition. what a waste of time. plus you wouldnt believe how many little kids were there with their parents. the games rated m but i guess they didnt care. oh well thats my rant

are any of you guys on xbox live? i am one of those guys now. im playing reach now but am looking to pick up left for dead 2 to play online with some buddies. anyone friend request me. buffdrew128.

Bump...

twztid13 I've played Other M more now and I see what others are complaining about, I like the original Metroid storyline without the attempt to make it a Final Fantasy/Metroid hybrid.

Megiddo I played all of the Alien and Predator campaigns but I still need to finish the Marine campaign. I noticed lag online while playing as a predator so maybe that's what I had heard about.

Buffdrew, I only went to one release night and it was a major disappointment so I don't go anymore. Yeah most parents let their kids play whatever they want so that they don't have to deal with them, In my generation we called them bad parents ;)

Enigmaopoeia I'll check out your lowball today to see if you put in MDK or the Silent Hill DVD:cool:

Hey Bud!

If you played Halo 1 & 2 those were the best so far. H3 was a big dissapointment, just H2 with some polish. Halo wars was an ok RTS, & ODST blew. Reach is the best by far ( only have about 3 hrs in) and is what H3 should have been IMOP

and.....Bump!

no doubt. didnt play ODST, and havent finished 3 yet (but was very disappointed in what ive played). it seemed like halo2, and you couldnt tell it was on a next gen console. just finished Reach. great game, but story not so good since you know whats going to happen (but the campaign is still fantastic). well worth a try.

now im gonna try and get into mp. uncharted2 was only game i got into the mp this gen (though i didnt get my consoles till about Jan.'09). halo 1, 2 & goldeneye 64 was my mp golden days. im starting to think i shouldn't have stacked my gold memberships till 2012.

btw, BUMP, lol.

Thanks for the bumps everyone, I would've been online sooner but I'm trying to get healthy since I have a Tuna fishing trip in a week.
I hate being sick but every time there's a fire anywhere near where I live I get sinusitis from the ash and smoke, hopefully I'm well enough in a few days to start playing games again:cry:

You don't need to be healthy, eat all the big macs you want karl.

Yes, I have played amnesia, and if you like penumbra remotely, you should get it. It is definitely a terrifying experience. Penumbra meets Call of Cthulhu

You're trying to tempt me aren't you meatwad...
At my age if I eat too much fast food I'll have a big mac heart attack ;)

I thought that Amnesia looked good but I wanted to get a CPU instead of adding more games and movies to my backlog. I went with the six core AMD CPU since Fry's had a great deal this week:cool:
hope you get to feeling better.
Thanks, I got over my cold a day and a half ago but I was busy getting everything ready for my tuna trip that starts tomorrow ;)
