OldSchool's former Sale/Trade list

Bump...

I actually liked living in the 80s:lol: Plenty of friends to go out and do stuff with, no bills since I was a kid and of course plenty of arcades and cool places to hang out.

I actually just read an article about Nolan Bushnell, I think it was in Game Informer skinkrawl.

Sorry 5of9 I wasn't really thinking of trading or selling the ashcans, I just thought you might like to see them since you collect comics.

No hurry, I'm still trying to get my PC room in order, just let me know whenever you're ready to trade twztid ;) Sounds like you and Megiddo are really enjoying Reach now if only M$ would wise up and release it for PC too.

even if you got a PC version of Reach, you know they'd never let us play cross platform multiplayer. Meggido & I have only played once, but we just had 1 or 2 close games. i suck atm cuz i'm so used to playing BFBC2, Black Ops, Bulletstorm, etc, where you press left trigger to aim down your sights. Halo is the only FPS that doesn't have that - it throws grenades, lol, so i was going real crazy when 5of9 & i played. i had a little better handle on it when Meggido & i played, but we played objective games (most of which i had never played in my life, & had to wing it on the rules of each game). fortunately, the ones we ended up playing were pretty self explanatory. no one ever chose the ones i had never even heard of before, thank goodness. i like trying new things, so it was good fun.

But the 80s were awesome! No dying malls, plenty of arcades and skating rinks, and things weren't ridiculously expensive. Best of all instead of staring at a screen all day with online friends you could hang out with real people and actually have fun :)
1. my mom was poor (which knocks out 90% of the good stuff for me)
2. i was an evil, hateful child that treated my wonderful mom so bad
3. i hate(ed) the clothes that were in style (and still do to this day)
4. i hated skating rinks (which is where everyone hung out)
5. the graphics in video games SUCKED (i couldn't wait for the days when games would be in 3d. i was a huge graphics whore - even before there was a reason to be, lol). the 80's were terrible, in my experience.

btw, i'll take Spiderman:SD of my list, so it's yours as soon as i finish it. if you decide i'm taking too long, don't hesitate to tell me. in that case i'll cut off all other games & play only that until i finish. i'm very anal about getting all the collectables in a game, and this has lots, so that's why i said a month originally. if i just play the game & skip the achievements, it won't take long.

dude i just thought of something....you do know that this is a 360 game, right (since i'm not sure that 5of9 has a ps3 & that's where i got it)? man that makes me think that this might throw a wrench in the plan, or else you'd be able to play Reach with us. darn. let me know, but i'm pretty sure that voids the deal since you wouldn't be able to play it without a 360, lol. really sorry i didn't mention this, but it's on my list so i figured you would've known that it was 360 version. wow, this sucks.

Thanks for the bumps!

I'll reply to your latest post here and your previous post in your thread twztid.

Firstly :hot::hot::hot: No I know you have both PS3 and Xbox360 games so I figured the Spiderman: SD you had was a PS3 game:cry: I never did buy an Xbox360 so I can't trade for it but would you trade NGS II for the Wii Goldeneye controller you have in your list? If the controller deal is okay with you the earliest I can ship is next Monday since I'm still overwhelmed with the huge mess around me right now.

I'm really not in a hurry to play any new games since I'm still putting everything back together in my house. After the new carpet was put in I decided to repaint and that has led to other home repair projects.

Nolan Bushnell's been trying to release great games since the late 70s, after he sold Atari. You should pick up that book, it mainly focuses on the rise and fall of Atari and the other early game companies, and how Nintendo and Sega came from being small arcade companies to rebuild the video game industry.

yeah i was born in '78, so i count the '80s as '85 on (when nintendo came out). i had tons of friends that hung out to play nintendo, but only ever had an Apple II as far as computers go. my mom is the only family i've ever had, so hiking, camping, fishing, etc, was the furthest thing from my mind. i lived in the worst apt complex in our city. people were on every apt corner trying to buy crack w/ food stamps, there were plenty of shootings, etc. i guess the style i'm referring to is what was on television, not what i wore (cuz i didn't have a choice, lol). most of my time was spent gaming indoors, trying cigarettes for the 1st time, getting picked on at school (and all my friends from my apartments were black guys, but none could take up for me, or let anyone know they were my friend, or they would be ostracized at school).

once i saw the jump from the atari 2600 to the NES, i thought (or HOPED) every generation after that would be the 360/ps3 graphic quality generation. the 90's were probably to me, as the 80's seemed to be to you.

i think i'm gonna hang on to the gold wii controller for a bit (to see if i can get paypal for it), since it's the only thing in my list that won't depreciate in value for a while (since they didn't mass produce like publishers normally do with the Special Editions). i had this same offer about 2 months ago, so that's crazy (NGS2 for the gold wii controller). i said the same thing, plus i'd rather have the 360 version since it's cheaper, i have a save about 3 chapters in, and it has BLOOD, lol.

i was thinking i can wait till i want to play the game, then i'll see if you still have an extra available and we can go from there. it might be a long while, though (that's why i'm hesitant to trade, cuz by the time i got around to playing the game, it'd probably be 10$ everywhere).just keeping you up to date, since i forgot to respond to this before. oh yeah, bump!

Thanks for the bumps Buffdrew, twztid, and 5of9
That sucks, I was lucky enough to grow up in a fairly diverse area so most people got along. I had an Apple II too it was on loan for a year to my dad since he was a teacher.I don't remember any drug problem in our area other than those blue stars that you could lick when I was in Junior high, I think our school had maybe one or two druggies tops and they were losers so no one tried to emulate them.

Yeah I started with some slightly older games so the jump to color and actual figures rather than blips seemed huge:lol:. That's fine, I already have one gold controller and I don't want to be greedy, I was just trying to see if there were another way to trade you NGS II:mrgreen:. I wasn't going to be putting NGS II in my trade list anyway since one copy is still sealed. I did add Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood though since I only wanted the Harlequin in the box:cool:

Yeah, Nintendo started as a trading card company in 1889. They rather floundered in the arcade business until Donkey Kong struck as a success. Then they successfully defended their right to the name after Universal Studios sued them because they said it infringed upon King Kong.

*******
you guys are all old! lol

im just kidding, i was born in '84. My first system was a sega master system, i loved that old thing. i really should get one again as there were so many great games on it.

Bump...

I didn't remember that universal sued them but I actually had one of the Donkey Kong game & watch handheld games. It was my favorite handheld game for quite a while, I gave it to my nieces several years back and they promptly destroyed it:cry:

Yup buffdrew who knew that so many of the gaming vanguard were on CAG:lol: I think that you can play SMS games on either the Wii or PSP but I don't know if the selection on either of their virtual stores is that great.

Just out of curiosity what is the deadspace 2 pass for, does it give you exclusive content or something?
it's for the multiplayer (i was in the beta & don't care for it), and a bonus weapon of some sort.

play AC Brotherhood, man. it's a fantastic game.
play AC Brotherhood, man. it's a fantastic game.
Seconded, it's pretty great, ending was a bit of a disappointment but it was still a great game.

Those little mini-arcades of DK were awesome.

Universal thought they would bully their way to an easy settlement. They actually got Coleco to settle but then Nintendo refused and went to court. You should check out that book; it's got a ton of great stories you'll really dig.

I can't really picture deadspace multiplayer being that fun, I like to play scary games by myself and at night...in the dark:twisted:

I plan to play AC:B... on Steam! I actually have the previous Assassin's Creed games on my PC too, I pretty much always buy my games on PC unless they're a console exclusive. The only reason I bought the console version is because I wanted the Harlequin in the box:lol: I replied to your PM twztid.

I'll look up that book next chance I get, I've been a bit busy lately. Funny how the movie studios haven't really changed their tactics skinkrawl, they just decided to go after their customers instead:dunce:

I was wondering how long it would take soemone to notice the ark and spear. Not trading them for pandora's box tho!

bump

what red faction were you talking about on psn+? i know there is a smaller red faction coming out for download only before RF:Armeggedon. is that what you were talking about, or the full release? how does me having psn+ have anything to do with it?

Bump...

Coming down with a cold but at least I received my Move controller today so I finally got to play RE5 with it:D

Thanks for all the bumps everyone, do you have a tradelist kobberbean?

I'll let you know about DS2. the 1st one is one of my favorite games but some are saying that 2 isn't quite as good.

bump

dead space 2 is one of the best games i've played in a LONG time. it fulfilled everything i had been craving from the masterpiece that is RE4 (on gc, not the crappy ps2 & wii ports). i stopped playing part 1 because of the anxiety issues i told you about before, but have re purchased it to play through after DS2 is done. i love Extraction, too, but DS2 is on point at every level.

i've read the complaints when comparing it to the original, and i think they are baseless. the lonliness is still there, you're still helpless in an outer space colony, and it's a freakin' fantastic game (i have yet to finish it because i got into DA2, and i plan on keeping DS2, so no need to rush to complete it so i can get a good trade in value. i don't plan on keeping just okay games - it's that good).

oh yeah...bump!

Bump...

Thanks for all the bumps while I was recuperating, still not 100% but at least my throat isn't killing me anymore. Next time you see me playing killing floor feel free to join Megiido ;) I'll check out your list and see what you've got Burrito King.

Thanks for the info on DS2, I'll definitely get it if I see it at GameStop during the sale. Did you see that the PS3 version of NGS II is $20 again ;)
saw that. also looked through the whole list for your games & spidey is the only one in the sale, but its 29$ new, 26$ used. i'd say 20$ is a fair price for it. i'll check the next sale, too.
