Bump...

I'm back, thanks for the bumps everyone. I had a great trip I caught redfish, yellowtail and some starry rockfish since the tuna weren't really biting. I was able to see some seals, sharks and a sunfish that jumped out of the water when everyone threw their bait in :)
hey man i added a link to your thread on the 1st post of my tradelist. check it out when you get time.
Thanks I'll add a link to yours next time I update my list, I should do it pretty soon since I have a few more PC games to trade.

Bump back for you!

That Asus mobo I ended up getting has been wonderful, by the way. Now, if I could upgrade the rest of the machine around it... :applause:

bump

played the first 2 levels of Castlevania LoS. i really like it so far, but they say its long (and i only played for about 30 min). i kept replaying the missions to get all difficultys & challenges beat (they open up after you complete a mission - they'll have you finish a level w/ no health power ups, etc.). looking forward to more, but i finally made captain in halo reach and want to keep it up, too (so i don't get stale).

sorry for long post, but just realized that the PC you found me doesn't come with an OS. thats another 100$ ish for an OS, so i'm gonna pass on that (though i'd LOVE to have it, but no OS is a deal breaker cuz id have NO idea which one to buy & they charge 100$ for the cheapest ones - windows7 premium 32 or 64 bit). i could deal w/ even less specs than that one, cuz i really only need it for regular web browsing, dvd-rw, that holds up well (can run more than 1 program at a time). so, please, keep your eyes open for me still (no pressure or hurry). thanks again, man.

Thanks for all the bumps everyone ;)

I've been sending link to PCs to several people so I'm not sure which one you're referring to. I think you wanted a PC for about $200 right? usually those PC's have Windows XP since Vista and Windows 7 have some fairly high requirements. I have an unused copy of 64 bit XP that you can have, I only needed the 32bit version but somehow I got both when I bought it.

bump.

the one u sent me was http://www.directron.com/wintersys3.html. im computer illiterate so i'm not sure if i'd need 64 or 32 bit versions. XP is completely fine with me; but yeah, i need just a pc tower for as close to 200$ as possible. that one after shipping & tax was 290$ w/ no OS. thanks again if you have the time.

been playing Reach still, but i'll give you my impressions as i play more of castlevania. i'll tell you now it's not traditional castlevania, but it's way deeper than god of war3 (which is what people will compare it to). looks great, plays great and they say it's a really long game (which is a big plus for my tastes).

Bump!

I'm thinking of trying to get a nicer CPU sometime down the road. I'm gonna get another HD to throw in here, but I'm content with 3 gigs of RAM at the moment, the mobo is set, but I do need to find a better power source as well. I'd love to build one of those submerged machines, as well!

Got any older PC games you can recommend?

Bump...

Twztid13 32-bit Operating systems are better if you want to use older games and software.

Well if you ever get around to playing them let me know Megiddo ;)

What processor do you have and didn't you just get a new power supply recently? Are you talking about the computers in Mineral Oil videos that have been going around lately Vulgarism?

It's an older Athlon X2, but I'd like to get something a little beefier. No new PSU, just the new motherboard. And heck yeah, those things are pretty neat. Though I've read a lot of risks with em (Near impossible to clean if you screw something up, rocks inside can make the oil murky after awhile, you need some sort of reservoir to pump out the hotter oil since it takes a bit longer to cool down afterwards, etc) but they are really cool looking. Great conversational pieces.

bump

so both 32 & 64 bit OS' would work with that system? if not, what specs do i look at in determining what version of an OS i need to get (for my future pc)? thanks.

Bump...

Thanks for the bumps everyone :)

I'll play TF2 eventually, I've been trying to get the last two achievements I need for Alien Swarm.

If you have a system with 2GB or less of RAM and an older/slower processor then you're going to want 32-bit XP. If you want to use newer software then you want Windows 7 and a PC with a newer processor and more than 2GB of RAM.

Yes i think i remeber thunderbirds. was that the stop animation one? i also think i recall the old G-force anime being called thunderbirds at one time.

If it was anime or any thing remotely"geeky" from the 70's to the 90's i'm sure i saw it.

Haha, I should just have a lowball and get an upgrade fund. Since I actually have a decent enough mobo now, I feel like I am neglecting it with what I have in there... But, alas, she does her job well. Bump for you!

As for PC gaming, I'm fine with older games, mainly RTS. Age of Empires 3 has been a favorite for a year or two now :D

hey bud, didn't you say you had an extra 32-bit windows 7 or something you were giving away? if you still have it, lmk and i'll gladly pay s&h for you to send it my way (unless i'm mistaken).

when you update your page for october/november, i'd appreciate it if you'd add a link to my trade list. not trying to bug you, so if you don't want to that's cool, but i didn't want you to forget if you do plan on it.

is that gamedays sale anytime soon, or is it next year? thanks again for everthing. take care, man.

I thought the Thunderbirds was from the 70s because that's when i watched it but I looked it up and it's actually from the mid-60s. It's the show with the wooden puppets and cool vehicles, I actually had a die-cast Thunderbird 2 with a small plastic Thunderbird 4 inside of it ;)

So you're an RTS fan, I just got Dawn of War II recently but I haven't had a chance to play it yet. I haven't really played any RTS games on my PC since the late 90s so I'm excited to see how they've changed :)

Damn man, I forgot to look for NGS2 when I was at Kmart a little bit ago picking up FNV CE... I'll look again tomorrow at a closer Kmart.

about thunder birds: a few years ago i watched one of the shows to see how they held up from my childhood memeories. one segment or the show was spent preparing a rocket for lauch(wheeling it out, hoses hooking up, countdown etc) CANCELING the lauch, then doing all the prep stuff in reverse. No lie-15 mins of the show. Yet i remember being glued to the set as a kid.

bump.

hey bud, i'll take that windows xp 64-bit (if you still have it) as soon as i sell something here. i only have 1.50$ in paypal acct & thats probably not enough for S&H.

i've never played an actual RTS before, since i don't have a pc that's up to snuff. next year when i'll definitely have SOMETHING to play games on, i'll give a few a try.

If you know how to get an .iso of it I can just send you the key, then you don't have to worry about shipping and handling ;)

I looked at two this evening and didn't find it. Just NGS I.

I'll look while I'm out guide hunting if there is indeed a drop tomorrow.
