Original KMART Clearance Thread Resurrected!! A few NEW TITLES ADDED! Updated 1/31/07

I've taken the FAQ from the other thread & pretty much just pasted it here without any changes made to it. You can find this FAQ at the bottom of this thread past the game list. The first list is the current game list. The second list is the original clearance list.

Consider yourself lucky if you find any titles from the second list, also most everything on the second list should be a big YMMV as most of those titles are now out of the system &/or have been pretty much bought up by everyone by now.

Alrighty then, here is the new and improved Kmart Clearance list. All titles are in alphabetical order according to their platform. The listings will be as follows: UPC - Game Title - Price.

Any game title that I've put in BOLD is missing the full 12 digit UPC & is represented with zeros. Any missing info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the prices will be listed according to info I get from inventories. However, if 3 people can confirm the same price on a certain game, then I'll change the listed price to reflect it. I'll try my best to keep this updated as much as possible.

All updates on pricing will be done as I find them and/or posts from you guys/gals. I just updated some prices for select games that I found recently. Any price that I just changed has a v next to the price. There may still be a few prices out of whack, but for the most part they're current.

Remember if you have a UPC that we need please PM me so I may update the zeroed UPC's. Thank you to everyone contributing info in this thread!

FAQ

Q: Why was this thread created?
A: Because there are multiple threads floating around, and its useful to consolidate. THis one will have the OP constantly updates so you don't have to go digging.

Q: Are these prices YMMV?
A: No, they shouldn't be. I currently have 10 K-Marts in my shopping radius, and they've all been consistent. At one time it was thought that they were YMMV, but I'm pretty sure it was instead employee incompetence at keeping prices updated.

EDIT: Some people are reporting prices that are YMMV, but I am hesitant to mark the deal as such. If you get a different price, it seems to be the exception to the rule, not a true YMMV where it is hit or miss. I'd say these prices are 90% accurate.

Q: An employee said the price was higher than what's on the list.
A: Get the game scanned at the register.

Q: The employee got that price gun and said it was higher than what's on the list.
A: GET THE GAME SCANNED AT THE REGISTER. The gun is incorrect sometimes.

Q: Can I use the price checker thingies?
A: YES! Brilliant idea! They will give you an accurate price. Also, if you have the problem of useless employees not opening the cases for you, you can print off the UPC codes and check them at the price checker.

Q: How can I help?
A: Multiple ways:
- Get a job at K-Mart so we have an inside man
- Post the prices of the games you get
- Write down the prices of games you do not get, then post those too

Q: When are items marked down?
A: Once a month, near the middle of the month.

Q: Does this have anything to do with the weekend 50% off sales K-Mart usually runs?
A: No. While some of these games used to be on the list, this is completely seperate. None of these games are on the 50% list anymore and will not be reduced during these sales.

Q: What if I bought a game at a higher price and it gets reduced? Can I get a price adjustment or a return/rebuy?
A: Chances are VERY SLIM. K-Mart does not do price adjustments on clearance items. A return/rebuy might be possible, but most Kmarts do not employee people with the mental capacity to fully understand this concept.

Q:Can I price check the games without getting into the cases?
A: Yes, thanks to this UPC document from TimTucker. You can scan these at self scanners located in most K-Marts, but note that sometimes prices may not be accurate

Q: What if the price is higher than what's on the list?
A: Then your store has not done markdowns left. Ask them if they have any pending PCLs and perhaps they can do it for you, or just wait it out. Also, you could try a return/rebuy if you have another local store that did the drops. Use the UPC sheet to check this

Q: What if a price doesn't come up? It says "Check shelf tag for pricing".
A: This means that the game was at 90% off, and for some reason it was scheduled to be marked down further. If you have a cool employee, you can get games for cheap. If you have a game with outdated tags, you could be in for a hassle. This is similiar when Target marks things down for salvage.

Q: Are these markdowns YMMV?
A: NO. These are universal nationwide prices. If you arent getting them, its your stores problem and doesnt indicate a larger problem as a whole.

Q: How are things marked down?
A: AFAIK, it can be done manually via gun, or it can be done en masse at the register. If you want further details, we are currently looking for a CAG to take one for the team and get a job at K-Mart to infiltrate and learn their secret methods.

Q: What games will drop further?
A: As a GENERAL RULE, games at 1.00, 1.50, 2.00, 3.00, 4.00 are at 90% off AND WILL NOT DROP FURTHER. Games ending in .99 will drop 2 bucks at a time in random intervals.

Went to another K-Mart (after finding MechAssault 2 this morning for $2) and found Rayman DS for $2 and saw a whole bunch of Nightmare before Christmas games with new UPC's over them.. damn. I asked to sort through the XBox pile.. hey look, a copy without a new UPC.. *scans* $3! w00t!

Project Snowblind is down to $2 at my local store on XBox.. the OP says $7.

By the way, K-Mart stores received Wii's today. My local one received 3. They weren't displayed, you had to ask about them.

I usually just keep my games for barter on CL. Since I've found CAG, hopefully I can do some good trades here as well. I rarely trade them into the game stores due to the ridiculous low price. On few occasions, they have some good deals for trade-ins though.

Neopets was $9.99 new at EB/GS a week or two ago with a coupon you could print from their web site. I actually picked it up there as I traded my Kmart copy for $16.50 to Gamecrazy (I sure as hell wouldn't have bothered getting $4.80 for it at GS). I'm sure it will be on sale again like that somewhere (if not clearanced out like at Kmart).

It's not so much Indigo Prophecy, though, as the many, many copies of Marc Ecko, all the SpongeBob LCP, and all those crappy PSP games (I see at least 14 Con's, 13 Tiger Woods, 5 NBA's, etc)...

The buyer ended up paying about $5.60 per title after shipping. Not bad on an individual basis, but a bit much for all the duplicates (the Marc Ecko's aren't worth that much for sure). There's also 287 crappy DVD's in there. We know that for most of the games, that was a small profit for the seller - though probably not worth the effort they went through to get them all! Note that there are also 41 PS1 games which I don't see - I'm sure they are crap. And who knows what the 14 DC and 31 GBA games are.

Hey Tiredfornow, I live close to Mcallen TX, I have been looking for the world tour soccer for psp, the one that is $4 dollars, but no luck, have you seen any, also which store did you go to, I went to the one on 10th street ,bought eye toy kinetic for $5 a few weeks ago, it was the last one, it was behing some x-box live kits, I also saw the Eyetoy Play 2 for $12 , saw psychonauts for ps2 , but it scaned at $15 , did not get it, do you know if it's cheaper now, I have not played that game but they say it's cool, I also went to the kmart on 23rd st but only found Medievil Resurrection for $4 , I will go tomorrow to see what else I can find, see ya.

When I was at the Mount Pleasant, PA Kmart a few days ago, it was still 24.99. I guess I'll get the price checked out the next time I visit my parents.

the one on 23rd st man, I scored big there the first time I went, the guys arent too cool though, they get all fishy about you looking around in there and shit.
but some asshole took all the animal crossings from the south 10th kmart for 9 bucks and the remaining champions return to arms.

I know the xbox psychonauts rings up at 3 if you can find one, I think south 10th had one.
and rainbow six lockdown rings up for 2 bucks too. theres the nightmare before christmas as well, and advance wars. and I THINK one more copy of wario ware twisted.

Yeah, they are having DVD clearances right now too. I saw a lot of $1 and $2 DVD's, but like you said, they were all shitty. The only thing even remotely interesting was a "Bruce Lee" movie for $1.

Anyway, has anyone noticed that they're raising the prices again? Is it just my store? They had one copy left of The Con for $4, and when I went back a week later the same one was marked at $21.

That happened to me with Time Crisis, which I picked up for 18 instead of 6. Then I went back a week later and it was 30. The guy was nice and told me to bring my receipt though and they will give it to me for 18. Although, I'm not sure if you've purchased the con or not.

Yeah I noticed this on a few games today. Drill Dozer was ringing up as $14 w/some kind of warranty (the lady said, weird?) And Rainbow Six Lockdown (xbox) was ringing up $21 or something. Crazy, that's only supposed to be $2 because I bought that like 2 weeks before at another Kmart. Came up with this same warranty thing. I believe someone in corporate has caught wind of these crazy cheap prices and are starting to move these prices back up? Who knows, just my theory, (probably someone from Sears!)

The 360/Wii/PS3 (They had a 60 gig system too) games were all at the country shoved in (Same with most PSP games)

Then all their dvd cases that are meant to be locked I guess were open wide. It's just unreal.

Found a lone copy of Wario Wave Touched! at Kmart in another town. Needless to say I picked it up for $34.99. Hadn't paid full price for a game for a while.

It looks like this game has gone down a lot on ebay now. $35 shipped in the past couple of transactions. Is it because of a reprint or something?
