do you know what raw chicken wings look like?
no.

I'm flustered now, I'm going to play a game.
Very nice, most restaurants don't cover their wings in flour. But I'm for it, cause without the flour you get those little tough spots of meat, and skin.
there's a reason why my neighbors volunteer to do manual labor in exchange for my hot wings.
Not a Bright Eyes fan, I take it?
Colin Oberst has a long ways to go... from what I've heard so far, he's not even a patch on Dylan. Ben Gibbard is getting closer.
You're dealing with a guy who literally altered the course of modern music forever and was on the forefront of the battles to reshape our culture. The threads that leads back to Dylan are remarkable in their breadth and diversity.

Back when I was in college and truly discovered him, I saved up every week to buy another one of his back catalog albums. Each week brought an amazing new revelation. It was like watching a flower bloom in time elapsed photography. I still remember the way the day felt when I played Highway 61 Revisited for the first time. My jaw was on the floor as I kept reaching over to hit play again and again each time the record ended.

It was one of the most significant times of my life, and as I've gotten older it's amazing how his songs have grown on me in new and unexpected ways. Dylan will change the way you look at the world, art, music, your own life, and the people around you.
see! right there, the jameson brings out the sentimental bleary eyed mick in all of us.

but it's true - it's Bob or bust.

Spanish Harlem was like a premonition of Manhattan for me.

BEN GIBBARD?

"i may have got an invitation but i wasn't invited."

:puke:

seriously - in terms of Bob-worthy songwriters? Tom Waits, in his own way.

And then...................................................................................................................................... Robert Pollard.
do you know what raw chicken wings look like?
 take it easy some places might not have them. My selection of food sucks. I live in the midwest going to the grocery store here it seems like people only eat Sirloin, PB&J, cereal, and beefaroni (sp?)
do you want raw chicken or do you want pre-made wings that you just need to put sauce on?
either way.

The sauce is the key. IMO.

I'm from another generation though, and I have different tastes than someone growing up at that time would have, so that might be why I don't like him as much.

I will give him another shot (probably tomorrow) though, and I'm going to see him live at ACL because he's headlining and since I'm almost guaranteed to be dragged to see him by a friend.
Demonoid still says I have 0kb dled and kb uled. Odd?
Very.

Did you mess with the tracker at all on any of your torrents?
see! right there, the jameson brings out the sentimental bleary eyed mick in all of us.
Guilty as charged, your honor. :D

Gibbard is better than Oberst, or at least has been since Transatlanticism. I look forward to what he does next. The thing is, there are those who come and go... the Matt Johnsons (The The had some notable albums that tapped into that vein) and Jeff Buckleys of the world seem to get near to it.

But when you look back at the achievements of Dylan, how prolific and consistently brilliant he was, there really isn't anyone who comes close. Even Leonard Cohen, for as extraordinary as he is, only managed to chisel away 11 albums in almost 50 years. Dylan was knocking them out year after year up until the motor cycle accident.

Tom Waits has his own special place in the pantheon of greats. What a unique musical vision and voice.
you COULD do this the easy way. you have a credit card. http://www.omahasteaks.com/servlet/...t-and-Spicy-Buffalo-Chicken-Wings&RAND=TA9601
Pfft, $8 a pound, fuck that. Just go to Wal-Mart and explain to them that you are looking for chicken wings to make shit with. If you get shitty service and or can't find anybody, just start walking by the chicken and start reading signs and labels on the chicken products.
this OTT got 165 posts in two hours, woot.
That's weak sauce. I've seen an OTT or two in my life get 500 posts within an hour or two easily.

Especially with Chika around.... she can easily do 250 of those posts without breaking a sweat. ;)

Lately OTTs have been lasting for almost two days at most. Plus most people are home tomorrow i.e they're up late tonight.
Very.

Did you mess with the tracker at all on any of your torrents?
I didn't know there was a tracker to speak of, so I'd say no, I didn't. I just... clicked download, open with utorrent, and then click ok or whatever on the utorrent popup. Except for the Tool discography, where I unchecked all the 10,000 Days songs since I already have that album. That's the only one I fooled with.

That and not having a life outside the intarweb.

And these fucking funimation DBZ DVD commercials are very very very very misleading. They fucking butchered the video and made it 16:9 instead of the original 4:3! Plus, the Japanese remastered DVDs > *

Firewall
The Frighteners
Clerks 2
The Departed
Trading Places
Freedom Writers
Lost In Translation

Any recommendations?
Scobie: recommend me your favorite Dylan album so that I can get a good "first," impression.
That's a tough one. The one that locked me in was The Times They Are A-Changin'. It remains one of his most focused and melancholy albums. Absolutely gorgeous songwriting with an obvious political bent on the title track and a couple of others. It's the clearest of his early visions.

For middle-period Dylan, Blood On The Tracks is an obvious choice.
Doesn't seem like you did anything wrong...that is very odd :whistle2:k.
Maybe I'm too new of a user? It knows I exist, since it says I've uploaded 1 torrent, which I have, and that one torrent is listed as having been completed one time, meaning one person dled it from me... so I don't know.
Matrix Trilogy and the Animatrix.
I already own the Matrix Trilogy. I would of spent the extra $20 on the Ultimate boxset *HAD* Animatrix been 1080P. That alone would of done the trick. Instead I'll stick with the movie only boxset for the HD experience and keep my $39.99 Suncoast bought boxset for the bonus content & Animatrix.

Besides... my $39.99 Suncoast boxset has the Neo statue.

Ironically those three are the only Dylan albums I own... on SACD no less. :applause:
