What CS classes? My app programming classes were VB and C#, i've had web programming and database programming. This semester i'm taking web programming with asp.net and network management.
The VB and C# weren't advanced, just an intro to programming with those languages.
Project planning and software engineering, academic artificial intelligence, advanced computer graphics/3d rendering, and my game project class. Backed up by a class in numerical analysis, and one for bezier curves and b-splines, and I have one hell of a math based workload.
Speaking of which, the all-holy portal object has been reassembled. It floats with an eerie red light, silently spinning.

Slowly.
This pleases us greatly.

The topic was brought up today about CAG, and some of the more interesting readings on this site. During said conversation, the light bulb of win started glowing fiercely.

The idea was had.

The next box is in stage 1.
I guess. I wouldn't know, as my AP Physics class wasn't calc based, so we didn't go too in depth. We also did no EM labs, and the teacher couldn't teach the entire unit at all. He straight up told us: "Trust the textbook more than me, because you won't do very well if you don't." (He didn't write his tests, for whatever reason, and had to prep us for the AP).

My dad took it for a day or two to "teach me a lesson."
Too much internet porn?

My Physics AP was weird - my math/science magnet school does research projects, and that was the first half of the year mixed with some mechanics on and off. Then, our teacher got switched to another department to fill in after a retirement, so we got a new teacher who also focused on mechanics. I didn't even try to take the EM part of the test, and the kids who did got ones and twos.

Bone? This $$$$a?

Hmmm.

As the object glows in the air above my obsidian throne, the cold marble 'neath my hands tremors in expectation.

Do not disappoint the powerful dreams within which reside, sleeping until beckoned.

Zoo has a Bone plush. Lovely.

Edit: Hmmm. Maybe not, according to the image properties.

Yeah, Zew. He stinks. Lots of lost potential there, if you ask me.

You're talking C though. Physics B's (the not calc based) test is in one piece.
Unfortunately, I couldn't take C because of the calc pre-req.

I'm quite happy with my modern physics class though (which we use a fair amount of calculus in...). :)

That's awesome. I need to find one of those. It just occurred to me that that's probably a dust magnet because he's solid white. Slightly less awesome.

Honestly, I don't remember the calc playing into the exam much at all - they use it to define and explain concepts, but most of the formulas are just multiplying and dividing variables.

Then again, I got a five on my Calc AP, so my memory may be a bit skewed. I've always been better at math than at applying it, but engineering means I'll actually get a job when I graduate. :)

From what I understand, the mechanics portion of the test isn't very calc based, but the EM part is covered in it, so that's probably why you didn't use much. =p

I should have clarified something, my degree is technically a business degree, so all my CS classes are geared toward business use not really scientific use. So no AI programming or anything like that. They do have computer graphics classes but they aren't really part of my program. I have statistics for math. I have a friend who's an engineering student and was telling me of her calculus and physics classes. Strangely enough she took C# and wouldn't have passed without my help, she thought it was hard.

I need $. Here's hoping I receive my PSP memory tomorrow, Saints Row tomorrow, and that Fart Bubble receives his money order tomorrow.

Ah, yea, not as much need for math in those types of classes.

I'm thinking of teaching myself C#, as it would look good on a resume, and hell, I'm already fluent in C and C++, might as well go for four.

That's not necessarily strange - Engin 101, which is a class in MATLAB and C++, is a weeder here. There are a lot of engineering degrees that don't rely on programming at all, so it's not that uncommon to have engineers who can't or, more likely, don't like to program. If you're going into nuclear engineering or biomedical, chances are you won't be spending long nights debugging code after you graduate.

At least, that's been my experience.
I played about an hour of Geometry Wars DS today. First game I've played all week. What's...happening...to me?
Is the DS version any good? Seeing as it's the only console I have that can run it, I was thinking of getting it but the idea of playing with the stylus seems fundamentally wrong.

I know thats kind of comparing apples and oranges though. I have no idea what area of engineering she wants to go into.
This site is pretty terrifying: http://duggmirror.com/comedy/100_Greatest_Quotes_from_fundamentalist_christian_chat_rooms/
One of the most basic laws in the universe is the Second Law of Thermodynamics. This states that as time goes by, entropy in an environment will increase. Evolution argues differently against a law that is accepted EVERYWHERE BY EVERYONE. Evolution says that we started out simple, and over time became more complex. That just isn't possible: UNLESS there is a giant outside source of energy supplying the Earth with huge amounts of energy. If there were such a source, scientists would certainly know about it. [emphasis added]
I want to cry. That blatant disregard for physics hurts me.

Now this one is just funny:

Athiests as a Majority

This is what it would be like, if the majority of people were athiests.
ATHIEST KID: Mom, I'm going to go fuck a hooker.
ATHIEST MOM: Okay, son.
ATHIEST KID: Afterwards, I'm going to go smoke pot with my friends, since it's "not addictive."
ATHIEST MOM: Okay, come home soon!

The athiest kid leaves the room. The father comes home from work several minutes later.

ATHIEST DAD: Hey!
ATHIEST MOM: Hi, honey! I'm pregnant again. I guess I'll just get another abortion, since "fetuses don't count as human life."
ATHIEST DAD: Okay, get as many abortions as you want!
ATHIEST MOM: Oh, and don't go in the bedroom.
ATHIEST DAD: Why not?
ATHIEST MOM: There are two gay men fucking eachother in there.
ATHIEST DAD: Why are they here?
ATHIEST MOM: I wanted to watch them do it for awhile. They just aren't finished yet.
ATHIEST DAD: Okay, that's fine with me!

Suddenly, their neighbor runs into the house.

ATHIEST NEIGHBOR: Come quick, there's a Christian outside!
ATHIEST MOM: We'll be right there!

The athiest couple quickly put on a pair of black robes and hoods. They then exit the house, and run into the street, where a Christian is nailed to a large, wooden X. He is being burned alive. A crowd of athiests stand around him, all wearing black robes and hoods.

RANDOM ATHIEST: Damn you, Christian! We hate you! We claim to be tolerant of all religions. But we really hate your's! That's because we athiests are hypocritical like that! Die, Christian!

THE END

No more copying and pasting after this - I should get back to work, and other people are capable of reading the link too. :)
Now this one is just funny:

I haven't looked at the link yet, but that's pretty weak. Convinced me to check it out, that's for sure.
Is the DS version any good? Seeing as it's the only console I have that can run it, I was thinking of getting it but the idea of playing with the stylus seems fundamentally wrong.
I played some sort of demo version on the 360's Arcade, and I found I liked the DS version better. Until today, I didn't even realize you could use the stylus. I always play with the face buttons. You don't have to use the stylus. In fact, I would think using the stylus would severely inhibit response time and accuracy.

This is driving me crazy. Maybe you people that have owned iPods for more than a month can answer this question. There are a couple of CDs that I can't seem to find on my iPod. They were there at one point...and now they're not. iTunes shows them in my music library, yet even when I search, I can't find them on my iPod. Is there some way music can come off the iPod even when I haven't told it to? Is there a way to force it back on my iPod?

In that case, I'm going to have to get me that game. I played the hell out of Grid Wars (the freeware PC knockoff) and the idea of a portable version is awesome. That, and I don't have any DS games that have long-term replay value yet - the four games I do have are all story-based. :)

This is a bit of a long shot, but iTunes lets you check and uncheck songs, and it won't transfer the unchecked ones unless you tell it to. Any chance that's the case?

If that doesn't work, try restoring the iPod.

Please do, it has more potential than you think. Although, I wish the planets had some catchier names so they could be easier to find if you wanted to go back and level up your drone or achieve a certain medal. A funny thing about the game is that sometimes there are so many shapes spawning that the game starts to go in slow motion. You can almost use it to your advantage since there is so much shit on the screen you can pick where you want to move next. It's really really really really fun, get sum!

Everything in iTunes is checked for me.

I realized after looking at iTunes that the songs were never played on the iPod, rather only in iTunes. I'll look into it in more detail tomorrow/today. It's time for bed and up in 5 1/2 hours.

Hm, but I also just realized that another couple CDs which definitely were on my iPod aren't there anymore. Not everything that is showing in iTunes is on my iPod, that's for certain.

Every cake needs ice cream to go with it. Happy birthday!

I'll just have to talk my friends into giving me a ride this weekend. Fortunately, the Best Buy, Target, and Meijers are all within about thirty seconds of each other.

If I ever do get the Wii I want - which is going to be a lot harder since I'd have to talk someone else into making the 8AM drive for me now - I'll probably end up buying the game again just so I can play it on a bigger, prettier screen and have it in my pocket. Geometry Wars is one of the few games I'd do that for, but it's that good. :D

That's definitely not normal. I'd try calling Apple - it sounds like there could be something wrong with your iPod.

That it is. Working through season 3 to try and finish it before the 4th season premier. This has to be the last one though, I have class in the morning.

My brother tells me PB stinks now, and that it has since after the second season.
