I think that I finally will have a steady source of caps. The owner of hte local pawn shop drink Pepsi like a religion and I asked him what he does with the caps. He said he throws them away. I told him I'd take them and he asked what was in it for him. I offered him $0.25 a cap so I'll hopefully be stocking up some caps soon for some of the good wiiware titles.

The only time I ever lost was when my browser refreshed the prize page for some reason. It still counted as a win in my account however, because I won before the page refreshed. >_> 27/27
 
Awesome promotion. I put in 7 caps and got 6 songs and applied for a 25 dollar gift card to the store this week. Lets hope I'm lucky!

I have lost 3 times. But this was at the start of the promotion. Since then, I have won everytime.

I've gone 52/52, but my last two DLC codes wouldn't work. The pepsi site gives a code, but the PS3 says it's not valid. Is there a limit of 50 free songs on the PS3?? Or is there a limit to entries per week or something?
 
I don't think theres a limit on how many you can do per week. I believe theres a limit of 1000 cap codes per yahoo account though. Currently 121/121 here and never had a problem entering the codes in.
 
Question for anyone who might know:

Are some of the songs compatible with Rock Band 1, and some not? I've downloaded three tracks (PS3) from the Pepsi Rock Band thing--"Dammit" by Blink, "Here Comes Your Man" by the Pixies, and "Story of My Life" by Social D--and the last two don't show up in my Downloaded Songs in Rock Band... but the Blink song does.

I believe they should all be compatible with Rock Band 1. All the songs I've ever downloaded have worked with Rock Band 1 and 2.

Hmmm... thanks. I watched both tracks download completely to my hard drive, but I better check and make sure something else didn't mess 'em up then. And maybe I'll just re-download 'em to see if that works.

Just a thought, but you might want to try re-downloading them from inside the rockband game from the music store. THat way you canssee if they show up as songs to purchase even in RB1.

I have only tried for songs personally- I have a feeling that I wouldn't win anything else

Did you install the other songs after you downloaded them? Or you could try downloading them again.

Follow-up: it looks like there may be a daily limit on PS3 code redemptions. I tried my non-valid codes again today and they worked fine. Someone on the rock band forums had the same problem last week. I downloaded a lot of songs Saturday night / Sunday morning before getting the non-valid code errors... maybe a 30 per day limit?

Actually if they had codes on 24 or 12 packs I would probably have every song for every system based on how much my family goes through. ;)

Has anyone noticed if they have been adding any of the new DLC to the list each week? I know they mentioned that Green Day was going up there, but didn't check on anything else.

Yeah I love that they keep adding new songs to the list, so I'm going to hold many of these codes until September 30th and hope that there are many new songs that are to my liking. I have to say, this is by FAR the best promo for a soft drink I've ever seen.

I bought 200 caps from eBay for about $90 after Bing cashback and the eBay cashback. On top of that the seller threw in about 20 extra caps, so that amounts to less than 50 cents per cap. I buy loads of DLC from Rock Band normally, so 50 cents instead of 1.99 per song is great! On top of that I didn't have to drink loads of Pepsi!

I was also 0/4 trying for the PS3 RB2 bundle. =(

I hate pepsi, and can't find cheap soda anywhere... wife would at least drink it... but figured FREE is the ultimate way to score on this... other than to buy from ebay.

picked up FF4 the after years. Wife made me get Excitebike....

still have 5100 points left... and nothing to buy. Hoping for more WiiWare games.

Sorry this is a bit off topic. I've got RB2 and want the RB1 songs. I can just rent the game from gamefly and buy the $5 export, right? Somebody told me that didn't work, but I don't see how Harmonix would know it was a rented disc or purchased disc.

You can do this. That is how I got all the RB1 songs on my RB2 list.

Just hit the jackpot on pepsi caps. I'm taking a one week long course up in scenic Dundalk, and the vending machine dispenses Pepsi products for $1.25. I looked around the room and noticed several yellow caps in the class. Let's just say a little dumpster diving at the end of class and I'm now 18/18. I'm to the point where I've picked up all my "must buy" songs, so now I might start trying for a bundle. Any thoughts on the best strategy for winning a bundle (I'm assuming entering every hour on the hour)?

so you've been getting them for like other systems??? Because getting the songs for the wii is like the same except you don't actually spend the wii points they give you.

When you select a song for wii, they just give you a e-card for 200 points. Use it whatever way you want. It's free points.



managed to pick up another 9 today... all free, so almost another $20 in wii points.

Hopefully get enough by the end of the promotion to NEVER buy another card again.

Free is nice.

Not sure if the PS3 is the same way, but on my 360 i had the same problem. 9 of my dlc songs showed up but the other 20 didn't. Found out it was because I had been unplugging my network cable before starting rock band. When I stayed online and started up rock band it downloaded an update and then all my songs were playable.
 
33/33 all for about ~$20
redeemed about 15 songs so far... Hoping for some better songs as the summer goes on... Or unless you guys can recommended some must have songs?
 
I'm so envious of you guys that have places where you can dumpster dive for free caps. On the weekend I went to the OC fair (a county fair in SoCal) and they only sold Pepsi products. From what I could see they had the bottles with the yellow caps as well as these large Pepsi cups with a little sticker that you could rip off with a code on it (first time I've seen that anywhere). However, people must hate Pepsi or something because I could not find a single cap looking into the trashcans. Granted, I didn't dig into them, so I could only see what was on the surface.
 
The local walmart here has the caps on the Wild Cherry, and MAXs, but not on the regular and diet pepsies.....
Oh well Wild Cherry is better anyway :D
 
I got 2 caps that read "Buy Pepsi 20z, get 1 free". These caps are the rock band caps, but they are red. They were in the 200 caps I got off eBay. Anyone know which stores would accept these caps? I can't pass up on buying 4 pepsis for the price of 2.
 
weird, maybe the rockband DLC and the stuff on the site is pretty lame when there isnt any chance to score more soda.

well always missed those get a free one, or b1g1 free caps. glad they started those back up.

Will be avoiding the red caps, since I dont' drink that stuff.

In the St Louis area I have only seen the red caps, none of the yellow at all. I cant complain tho because I am 15/15 with the caps so I am happy. Anyway to answer your question ive used most of my B1G1 caps at any local gas station/liquor store. Most (around 80%) of gas stations accept them, but sometimes you will run across one that will refuse to take it because "Pepsi ripped them off before" or something. I guess Pepsi wouldn't pay them back on the caps. You will most likely still have to pay the tax on the free soda too. Anyway give a local gas station a try.....could be YMMV tho depending on which gas station you deal with.
 
Actually when you go to use a cap at the gas station, there is no tax. Just a straight exchange. Did this yesterday at the Mobil station. I would think that this would be true for all gas stations.
