Phantom Brave (new) $20 at GameStop
Why is it that I'm contemplating getting this despite the fact that I have no PS2?
Same reasonh I'm contemplating getting it, despite the fact I've alreay owned it twice before.

It's amazing how both this and LP Tactics dropped eventually, but Disgaea never saw a real price drop.

Great pick-up for $20 if you don't have it yet.

It's also amazing how BB refuses to drop it from $50. When will they ever learn and have a massive sale?!

That's if you ignored the $5 sale for Disgaea last July :p

Don't rub salt into old wounds. Many who wanted it, didn't get it. Some of the few who got it bought multiple copies.

Will we see a sale like that one at CC this year (or anywhere else)?

Just got Disgaea used for $40 and Phantom Brave (LE I guess whichever one has the soundtrack included with it) used for $18 at Gamestop B&M. They had La Pucelle for $18 used too but I already have it.

These are only slightly higher than ebay prices (and there's no shipping obviously) so check your B&M game stores occasionally I guess.

If anybody lives in Madison they had another Disgaea for $40 at the west side Gamestop so go buy it if you want it.

Saw it at EB B&M for $25.

The soundtrack is okay.

I'm guessing the reason Disgaea never dropped was because it was Atlus handling distribution.

NIS American released PB while Mastiff handled La Pucelle.

I hate to say it, but probably not. I mean first CC did the HUGE $5 sale which basically cleaned out most stores. Then they slowly added some stuff in August I believe and dropped a lot of game to $5-10. Then they had that huge bungle with the $5 glitch which I wasn't able to take advantage of, but a lot of my stores' PC/PH/GH games were mostly gone.

I think CC mostly clean except of new games which I don't see going any where soon in a new sale.

Bought a used copy of PB at GS today, $17.99. It included the Music CD. They also had it new for $20. This is in San Jose, CA.

Do all the PB copies have the CD?

I saw this at one EB today for $25, where others had it labeled as $39.99 and 29.99 still.

Awesome price for this game. Thanks Led. Man this week is going to be harsh, I wasn't planning on buying so much. This and Shadow Hearts: Covenant...uuggghh.

Hopefully some other store will drop the price on Disgaea so that i can have a complete set of the Nippon Ichi Three.

No, only the first printing/the LEs I believe of the game came with the CD.

I've been looking at these Nippon Ichi games for awhile now - is Phantom Brave a good one to start with if I've never played a strategy RPG before?

Hopefully, EB lowers their B&M price to $20. They've had a SE copy there for $29 and a regular edition for $25. I'd definitely jump on it for $20, but alas, no Gamestop near me, and I don't want to order online... Well, if it's available online anyway.

Where's zion at? He'll tell you how good Phantom Brave is! ;)

Thanks again Led. I picked one up today (the last one at the store mind you) and it was the Limited Edition of PB. Hallelujah!! So happy. :D

Look at the back of your case. In the lower left-hand corner, there should be a picture of a bottle. If you have the SE, the words "Special Edition" will appear right above the bottle.

Yup, plus inside their will be two discs.

I just picked this yesterday at a Gamestop. The clerk there said they had a ton of copies left. So both me and a friend picked up a copy, my friend also picked up the strategy guide since he also gets 20% off the guide (which was 5 bucks) cause he picked up the game with it. I already bought the guide at an EB before for 5 bucks cause I thought it was rare at the price. Oh, and they were Special Editions. If anyone that lives around in the Chicago area is after it, the Game Stop is in Niles, the one in the plaza near Waukegan and Howard.

I can't believe I bought this game for $50 :(. I thought it was going to be as hard to find as Disgaea. I haven't even opened the game yet :(

Time for me to look for my PB guide that I bought from EB not too long ago for $5. I think I might actually pick up another copy and another copy of Shin Megami Tensei's.
oh thanks for hand up.. damn..mine is NOT SE...
i will exchange...

damn...mine is not SE!!! i will exchange ;;
I feel for ya and all, but was it necessary to post the exact same message twice?

Nice deal, except I picked it up at Hastings a few months back for $12.50. I think that price is still standing if you have a Hastings nearby.

Gah, I just bought this off of Gamefly a couple of weeks ago for $26 after tax. At least it was an LE, but I am such a CAG that I am kicking myself for the ~$5 difference.

The word on the street is PB is rather complicated and heavily stats-based, though I've never played it, myself. I would recommend starting with FFT or something like Fire Emblem, as they aren't especially complicated, and are pretty kickass (Advance Wars games are good too, but they feel more like Metal Marines than RPGs).

Whoa...I didn't think anyone else remembered Metal Marines back on the SNES. That game was a lot of fun, and pretty challenging after a few levels. The best part was when your frontline air defense was so good that neither the enemy's ships nor missiles could get past it, making your base pretty much invincible to everything except ICBMs. Fun game.

I wont start with Fire Emblem if you the kind of people who have to complete everything because one you lose a character they are gone for good.

Metal Marines is certainly the bomb-tits. I remember having a really hard time towards the end when the enemy launched a freaking ICMB almost immediately after the mission started. My friends and I used to play a Warcraft 3 map that tried to emulate Metal Marines. That was a good time.

Yeah, I preordered and got the guide too, thinking that this would be even rarer than Disgaea in its limited edition form. Boy was I wrong on that. Never again! (though probably I will).
