I keep hearing about Indiana jones. Is it truly that good or just marketing hype?
I couldn't get into it, gameplay felt dated and old like a corridor shooter. Environments when you took the time to explore them felt equally bad in terms of layout. As for story, seemed like it would be a fun adventure but I'd rather watch a movie at that point. In fact, that's what I did end up doing--just watching the trilogy instead.

Playstation and Xbox have basically switched roles. Where as Xbox used to rely on 3rd party, now they have enough studios to let their 1st party do the talking. Xbox has sold nearly 40 million consoles this gen. Any game that skips Xbox at this point is just shooting themselves in the foot. Xbox and Sega's relationship is stronger than ever! Square Enix is about to announce FF7 coming to Xbox this week.

We already know that these companies don't make money from selling consoles, the money comes from selling games. 5 out of the top 7 Playstation games are published by Xbox. Which company do you think is making more money? Sony or Microsoft? What games does Playstation have? Concord? Flop. Fairgames? Flop. Marathon? Flop. Bungie basically made Naughty Dog cancel Factions 2 and a Spider-man multiplayer game. Hundreds of millions of $$$ and years of development down the drain! The bigger question is what game or reason will people have to buy a PS6?

Only took $77+ billion dollars spent to be this kind of smarmy.

You bought major studios, congrats. I'm sure Xbox in-house development and exclusives are really going places. great track record on that one. lol

gj on Tango.

and all of the hardware sales. Really impressive Xbox losing their entire foothold inside every brick & mortar retailer. This is def going to go well. because all of you are so adept at getting or building PCs. Hey at least you've got the $700 Lenovo handheld with the Xbox sticker on it now.

....
That's like saying that Burger King should shutdown all of their restaurants because they're in 3rd place. If I feel like eating a Whopper I'll go to BK. If I feel like eating a BigMac I'll go to McDonalds. I'll eat what I feel like eating, I don't care which place sells more burgers lol.
.....
BK needs to release a new batch of games. For $4 each, they were great lol

I don't care for CoD but I'll take Transformers and Marvel Ultimate Alliance in Game Pass. No idea what MS is waiting for lol.
^ This is the only that matter to me. Give me the old Transformers WoC/FoC and the MUA games. And from what I am hearing is that they lost the code for Transformers game, so they would have to build it from the ground up. As for MUA, i think thats just a licensing renewal thing they have to do with Disney/Marvel in order to get it back

Still think MS should focus solely on multi-platform gaming with all of its studios and ditch their consoles. They won't win the next gen either. They peaked with the 360, and that was all she wrote.
Consoles being the key operator here. MS agrees and "Xbox PC" has been spotted now as official branding for their Windows environment. Things are about to heat up.

And 5 of the top 10 games on PlayStation right now are from Xbox studios with Forza Horizon 5 at #1. But sure, Xbox as a whole is doing really poorly right now.

I really like having a PS5 and Xbox Series X personally, so I hope that they both keep making new consoles and releasing great games on them. I just barely played through Miles Morales and that was really fun to complete since it's a smaller Spider-man game. Now I've been playing Doom The Dark Ages on gamepass on my Series X and that is a great game too. I have a Switch 2 coming tomorrow with Mario Kart World and I'm excited to play that. I am just enjoying all three of these companies firing on all cylinders.

Activision losing the code for Transformers is actually old misinformation and has since been debunked and corrected. Blizzard never lost the code and Hasbro has come out and said that they would renew the license for the Transformers games. I don't see why they wouldn't, MS gets to sell games and Hasbro gets to sell toys = win/win!

Licensing is probably the dumbest thing to ever happen to the gaming industry anyway. So you only get to use a song or car in your game due to licensing for a few years and then you have to completely delist the entire game? As far as I know this doesn't exist in movies. Imagine if your favorite movie got delisted after a couple of years and you could never watch it again because of a song they used? Pretty fucking stupid isn't it? Also who decided that we no longer own our games even if we buy it? Where are the consumer protection activists? How did we get here?

Who's gonna be the one to tell this guy that Sony bought Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, Insomniac and House Marque, etc... where would Sony be this gen without Insomniac?

There's no point releasing on Xbox unless MS is paying you to put it on GamePass. Individual game sales are weak on the Xbox because their customers are conditioned to just wait for it to show up on GamePass.
Yes, Microsoft sells more games on Sony because people actually buy games here. You can make a lot money dealing with actual legitimate paying customers instead yeah. Tons of free revenue that was never realized because nobody buys your games on Xbox consoles.

The +$50 price increase should help though. Hardware sales suck so let's raise the price!
Sony tried to homegrow their GAAS. Microsoft bought theirs.
yup yup. Story of this entire gen.

Sony raised prices of games to $70 this gen, released a $700 console and increased price of PS Plus. Now imagine what they would do if they had no competition lol.
Uhhhhhh. Anyone wanna tell him?? LOL

Saying Sony has no games is disingenous when just last year they had the overall GOTY (Astro Bot) and the MP GOTY (Helldivers 2). Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yotei are also safe bets to be GOTY nominees. I don't think Microsoft will have a GOTY nominee this year. Doom came and went and hardly anyone seemed to care.
They don't watch TGAs over on Truth social.

If by "from Xbox studios" you mean "studios that Xbox recently bought and acquired", then SURE!

3 out of 5 of them. and Minecraft. which they also bought. Really good job buying.

It's okay they're becoming Sega.

Insult to injury, it was reported that FH outperformed GT, The Crew, NFS, and F1 for revenue combined. Can confirm, my first one was a blast and hoping 6 is announced this Sunday.

Sad that NFS had such a banger with Rivals and never got a sequel. They just churned out pure garbage after launching a generation with such a good one.

Sorry, but I have an Xbox Series X and play it way more than my PlayStation 5 and that’s because of GamePass. I can’t even remember the last time I played the three games you mentioned because there’s so many good day one games like Expedition 33 and, yes, Xbox first party games like Doom: The Dark Ages and Tony Hawk 3+4 Remake coming to GamePass.

Is it sustainable? Who knows. But just saying I play the hell out of my Series X because of it. It’s not just about Halo, Forza and Gears for me. And know plenty of others who are still all-in on Xbox due to GamePass and prefer consoles over a PC.

And I say this not as a knock on PlayStation because there are exclusives there I love to play. I’m just dispelling the idea that Xbox is just about Halo, Forza and Gears.
Anecdotes aren't data; rather I was speaking on Xbox as hardware, which I don't think there's any argument that they're not doing well.

GamePass is something I hate, because it's obviously not sustainable and will drive what kind of games are made just like streaming has impacts television, movies, and music. But GamePass also is also on PC, has been heavily subsidized, and I believe still hasn't really landed a foothold there. Microsoft still needs Valve in that regard, but Valve is working hard to not need Microsoft.

Otherwise, Microsoft is still moving games, as per others stated regarding having 5 of the Top 10 on PS. But out of those five, they acquired four of them. So, it's just having a bunch of money means you can dominate a market. :p

Acti/Blizz wasn't a mistake. Bungie totally was, IMO. Destiny doesn't have the same cultural zeitgeist like COD, Minecraft, WoW or Candy Crush. Sony's been making a bunch of losing bets, but their hardware is still being top dog on the high end side of things.

If only Nintendo would just put their stuff on PC, I'd be the happiest.

Edit: Seeing Gran Turismo get smoked by Forza is more satisfying than it has any right to be. I always felt GT was very much "we're the best because of course we are" since GT5.

What's this with a slight twist on the Astrobot controller? BS. I already bought one last year. It better not be something cool.

Okay finally some games coming to PlayStation premium.

Those were studios that Sony first partnered with through second party agreements, then purchased once the studios proved they could deliver (more akin to organic growth).

Skipping that step and just buying for the sake of expansion (inorganic growth) has burned Sony badly this generation with Bungie, Firewalk, and probably Haven.

IO's cooking with 007 Fight Light.

Astro Bot's getting 5 new challenge stages July 10:

New PS+ Game Catalog and Premium games coming up:
Along with Sword of the Sea coming August 19 as part of the Game Catalog lineup (more on that further down), there were new titles announced coming to PlayStation Plus. The PS2 version of immersive sci-fi sim Deus Ex joins Game Catalog June 17, Twisted Metal 3 and Twisted Metal 4 come to the PlayStation Plus Premium’s Classics range July 15. Later this summer, the original PlayStation versions of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis also come to PlayStation Plus Premium’s Classics range.

I don't understand Sony sometimes. I cant buy the Resident Evil 7/village gold bundle for $20 because I own the vanilla version of village. but it doesn't stop me from buying the full gold edition of village alone for $50. it's like, what are you saving me from exactly here?

So buying Activision was a mistake but buying Bungie was not? I think most players didn't want MS to buy Activision but remember that Sony made Deathloop exclusive and was going to make Starfield exclusive as well. At least, buying Bethesda and Activision stopped this moneyhatting shenanigans. Getting to play these games on GP for free is just a nice perk.

Are you sure about that? I remember a LOT of fanboys thinking this was going to be the death of Sony. In reality it didn't affect Sony at all. Black Ops 6 is bundled for free with a $400 PS5 Slim while a $600 Xbox Series X purchaser still has to buy the game seperately on top of it. If anything Microsoft is screwing over their own customers and steering more people in the direction of a PS5.

And if Microsoft knew Starfield was going to turn out the way it did I doubt that would have bothered purchasing Bethesda. They clearly thought it was going to be as big as Elder Scrolls/Fallout and it wasn't at all.

I love Astro Bot but the whole "controllers will diff eyes" is such a scummy way to milk the franchise...

I scrolled up and down here trying to figure out what you were talking about. Even gaming sites didn’t mention it. All I see is a photo of the same controller with slightly different eyes online. The ps blog didn’t even announce it in the headline.

Guess we’ll lose access to playing the Nioh 3 demo in a few weeks? Time limited demos are stupid.
They happen on PC too. Sometimes I go back to do my demo dives and the demo is installed but they revoked the license from it. Just dumb unless the demo is so broken they needed to revoke it.

It would make sense to take them down because it has online components and it is an alpha demo. It is intended to gather feedback and make changes if needed. The first Nioh demo has breakable weapons and repair mechanics in the alpha and was later removed based on player feedbacks.

Nioh 3 was a surprise in that it looks nothing like Nioh? I really enjoyed the second game, hated the first based on the demo so looking like this is a franchise that's all over the place. New approach screams Elden Ring envy though and I wasn't convinced.

Sea of Remnants was the only game I came away as "you have my attention". Everything else was just too weeb or franchises I don't care about. Even FFT is just a game that while I enjoyed it for its time, there's just so many better games in that space now. It will sell on nostalgia but unless it hits Game Pass, I sleep.

They have no competition. That is literally why they are doing the things they are doing.

Gaslight yourself much?

Microsoft is selling a 2020 console for $730 and people are still trying to hate on Sony for the PS5 Pro being $700. Sony's hardware (both Pro and Slim) is honestly looking like a steal right now when you look at how ridiculously priced Xbox consoles and graphics cards are. Aside from PS Plus Essential being overpriced I think Sony's pricing across the board is fair.

I think there’s plenty of hate for Microsoft’s price increases. But I just don’t think MS cares as much about selling consoles anymore.
