So does PS Plus stuff come out every week or what?

I know every month there is 2 minis, 1 PS one game, and a PSN title. What's the deal here?

Yeah, they add new stuff each week and you can read the OP to see what has been released so far for the month.

Sadly it looks like the add-on DLC are pay to play. From PS Blog
In general, free games and free game DLC in PS Plus is accessible for as long as you are an active Plus subscriber. Some items like free themes and free avatars are yours to keep forever.
Stupid theory, but what if they're only talking about the DLC for the "free" games themselves. Sony isn't very good at being specific about certain things after all.

Yea. This is getting sloppy. How would it even work if they took away installed add-on content? I am sure some people on the gameshare thread could answer this. Does the game have to be reinstalled? Or does it just adjust on the fly?
wow, nice super vague answer from Grace Chen. Expertly crafted.
At least she gave an answer. So far all my attempts to court he affection have gone completely unnoticed...

On PS Plus, unless stated that you can own the thing forever, will get disabled if you cancel PS Plus.

So if you buy an add-on to a free game like Wipeout HD, you will keep the add-on, but the game will be disabled. The game will STILL be there and won't uninstall or anything but you'll either have to buy it or just get PS plus again.

Well, there's always option C: vote for my idea :bouncy:
that should already be the case for those people who pay for the full year but i doubt theyll do it.
Yeah, I agree. And yeah, they probably won't do it but it never hurts to try
So, for how long are they offering the additional 3 months free?
Till August i believe
I got the three month. Do we know whats next on the list or when we are getting it??
Sony North America has been less than informative, but Sony Europe put out lists for month 1 and month 2. Looking at month 1 there have been differences in the offerings of the two regions, but there has also been a fair amount of overlap. (Less so on the discounts but more so on the games and avatars). Here are the European lists which should at least give us in NA some idea regarding month 2.

Month 1: June 29th – August 3rd
Intro offer: LBP (standard edition) We received the 3 month free offer instead
PSN PS3: Wipeout HD check
minis: Field Runners, Age of Zombies check
PSone: Destruction Derby Rally Cross here
Full Game Trial: Shatter, Savage Moon Infamous here
Discounts: LBP God of War Pack – 50%, LBP: LocoRoco costume pack – 50%, Gravity Crash – 20%, Fat Princess DLC – 20% lots of differences here but I think we received better discounts

Premium Game Element: KillZone 2: Steel & Titanium DLC Warhawk DLC here and Cuboid/Magic Ballz add-ons
Push demo: ModNation Racers, Heavy Rain Nothing has been pushed to me even though I have auto downloading on
Dynamic Themes: LBP Theme, SCEE produced: PlayStation “Game Is Just The Start” Dynamic Theme We've received two non-dynamic themes
2 x Fat Princess Premium Avatars pretty sure we received these

Month 2: August 4th – September 1st

PSN PS3: Zen Pinball
minis: Blast-Off, Alien Zombie Death
PSone: Medievil
Full Game Trial: inFamous, Mushroom Wars
Discounts: Zen Pinball Earth Defence Table – 20%, Warhawk Triple Combo Pack – 50%, Super Stardust HD – 20%, WipeOutHD Fury – 20%

Premium Game Elements: Motorstorm Pacific Rift: Adrenaline Pack
Push Demo: Flower, Pixel Junk Shooter
Themes: “SCEE produced: PlayStation Plus Dynamic Theme, Heavy Rain Crime Scene Theme
2 x Heavy Rain Avatars (Bird and Butterfly)

Personally, European month 2 looks a bit less interesting than our month 1, but that will obviously depend on personal tastes.

Since we have now learned that content is going to roll in weekly instead of all at once monthly, it would be nice to know whether the content will all cycle out at the end of the month or will also roll out gradually about a month after it debuted. i.e. Will stuff like Fieldrunners phase out at the end of the month with the initial offerings or stick around for a week overlap with month 2 stuff?

Also, has automatic downloading done anything for anyone in NA? (yes, I have it on) I wish Sony would release a FAQ detailing what it will download. For instance, I recently received Bad Company 2 from Gamefly and put it in. A 700 or 800 Mb patch was required before I could play. So I decided to use my game time to play something else in order to let automatic downloading get the patch overnight. Unfortunately, automatic downloading didn't do anything and I still had to sit through the incredibly slow patch process the next day.

Thanks for that. Also, has anybody else noticed that they took down the Warhawk DLC? I was looking for it and didn't see it at all.

I don't see it in the PS+ area anymore either. However, the area lists 20/20 objects though so maybe it is only set up to show 20 items. I just looked it up in the normal "add-ons" menu in the store and when I click on the Fallen Star pack there are two different selections- one at $7.99 and one for free with the plus icon. So it looks like it is still in the Add-ons section just not in the PS+ feature section.

I'm looking at it now and it tells me $7.99

It can't be because I went with the 3 month is it? (Stupid question I know)

I don't even see another option for free honestly.

That is weird. I wonder if it is because I downloaded last week? What I see under "add-ons" for Warhawk are 3 entries. (one for each add-on). The Fallen Star pack has the gold plus on it. When I click on it I come to a new page with 2 entries. Entry number 1 is the Warhawk fallen star pack for $7.99. Entry #2 is the same pack with the plus symbol and "Free" as the price.

If that is not there for you, it may be our first indication that some items will rotate off Plus in a given week in the same manner that new stuff rotates on.

Alternatively, did you already buy it at regular price? I know that the free plus version of Wipeout was invisible to people that already actually owned the game.

Nope, never bought it. I got Plus and then thought to my self, I have Warhawk durrr lol. Then I went to go look for the Add on and no where to be found. Oh well. I like the Plus so far. It has added a lot more value to my PSP. The Game Age of Zombies is really fun and even though Rally Cross sucks, it's fun to play on the PSP

Is it confirmed that the first months offerings will begin to fall off starting in month 2? I'm planning on getting this, but am a little trigger shy. If I wait too long, am I looking at possibly losing out on the first month's free stuff?

How do you expect anyone here to answer that? No one knows what Sony will release next month for PSN+ in the USA. You can speculate all you want from the UK posting, but so far, there have been a good bit of differences.

You won't get anything from month 1 if you don't sign up in month 1. If you get a magazine subscription that starts in August, you don't get July's issue as well

Good comparison... didn't think of it like that. Thank you.

I have received prior issues of Game Informer when signing up to renew my EDGE card at a Gamestop store that had those prior issues sitting on the counter or in the back someplace.

Furthermore they have given me each month's issue at the store until the subscription department finally started sending out my mailed issues, which usually included the issues I had been grabbing from the store I signed up at.

Apples & oranges, meet Cheapest. Cheapest, apples & oranges. We'll all leave you alone to get better acquainted.

With ssjmichael's example though there are some exceptions to the rule of not getting prior month's issues, which is what I was pointing out.

I think it's safe to say that the content will not be removed at the end of the month. The Warhawk expansions disappeared after the first week if you didn't DL them.

Well, crap, I've been waiting for those to show up! I had no idea they were already gone :bomb:. I bought in on July 3rd too, and still never got them. I think they may have been there the first day I looked but PSN's download speeds are so painfully slow I think I skipped those for the moment and went for other stuff instead. Then when I went to set up my big overnight download they weren't there any more.

OK, I'm officially pissed, now, that the PSN (lack of) speed cause me to miss out on one of my PSN+ benefits. And I don't want to turn on that auto-download thing because I don't want all that other stuff on my HD (in particular the 6 GB trial games) - plus I just found out my ISP has a 100GB per month download limit (which probably is not enforced, but why push it for no reason?).

just do like someone else mentioned before if something comes up for free that youre not sure you want or not just add it to your dl thing and dont dl it that way if you change your mind later you can dl it.

View All By Title > W-Z > Warhawk (#2) and it's right there.

Just add anything that's free to your account (get to the download link but don't download) and it'll be available to download whenever you want or need to use it.

Wait, are you saying it is still available for free but just not featured on the PSN+ page? Because I thought someone said it got pulled after the first week - meaning, to me, it isn't available for free any more. I guess I'll go look now.

I also didn't know about getting to the download link meant it was saved and you could download it later. I guess that makes sense as that is the point at which you'd normall pay for something and they certainly wouldn't make you pay again to download it ;). I've always just bought/downloaded/installed things all at once.

Yeah, I checked and it's in that spot with the golden plus on it. It was just knocked out of the PS+ section for whatever reason and I guess people assumed it was a limited offer.

I do that to save demos or other free content to my account so I can still get them even if they're taken down.

Had you already downloaded it last week? I went looking for it yesterday and the "free" copy wasn't there.

Yeah, OK, I got it. Seems odd they would remove PSN+ offers from the featured page even when they are still active - doesn't seem like a good marketing scheme to me, but whatever...

nbballard - I definitely did not download it before and was able to get it just this evening. I had to go to the Add-Ons section and look for Warhawk and it is listed in there twice: once with the regular price and once with the PSN+ logo and no price. It did not charge me anything when I downloaded it via the PSN+ link.

Just checked again on both of my systems and didn't see it under "All" or under the add-on content. I see "Fallen Star", but there aren't any PS+ icons on the content page.

I don't care- i don't play Warhawk. I just thought it was strange.
So for those of you that have bought psn+ so far, does it seem worth it?
for me it is but its hard to say whether it would be for someone else.if youre on the fence i say wait 3 months and see what comes out and if none of it interests you dont bother. im getting my moneys worth so far because i havent bought alot of psn games outside of some classic ps1 games and maybe 5 or 6 other random games that were on sale.

i made back half my investment the first week and with all the free avatars, themes and minis i should have gotten 50 + bucks worth of free stuff.yeah some of it you cant keep but for a $50 year investment you can keep accessing it which i waste more that that on a number of things.

the value of plus depends on the individual.
Do they want me to get PSN+ or are they already starting the "crappy updates, with one halfway decent one every 6 months" pattern?
Considering we weren't even supposed to get new things each week they've already given away more than anyone was expecting. Look at the entire month. if you don't think it's worth it, that's fine, but I already got at least $20 worth of value from it with 14 months to go.
So for those of you that have bought psn+ so far, does it seem worth it?
So far I think it has been worth it, I really liked the two minis. I didn't like the PSOne game. But have been playing Wipeout alot. I really don't care about the themes, but some of them are okay. I didn't really like Qore, and probably wont download it anymore. I like the avatars, specially the Fat Princess one. I haven't bought anything using the +discount.
So for those of you that have bought psn+ so far, does it seem worth it?
No, but it's only the first month and we've only been given one "free" game I already have, a "free" PSOne game and two "free" minis with a bunch of other garbage I don't care about. I bit on one of their PSN+ discounts and saved a whopping $1. So no, it doesn't feel worth it yet.
So for those of you that have bought psn+ so far, does it seem worth it?
It's fairly easy to analyze: do you enjoy useless DLC and the occasional free game? If so, PSN+ is for you. Don't get me wrong, I love PSN but the offerings are hardly worth $50 to me.

I hope they continue this every week thing. I love going into an update knowing i'll get random free stuff.

Not the most desirable stuff but hey, it's something. And I think it's worth it!
