Following info from source v220 of Nintendo Power. Page scan.

Instead of picking up Pokemon Ranger just to play through to get Manaphy, on Sept 29, if you arrive at Toys R Us between noon and 3 pm, you'll be able to get a Manaphy. Not only will you get a Manaphy, but it'll come in a Cherish Ball, and it will be sporting a Red Scarf.
 
Last year they did this for Mew, expect huge lines and tons of waiting. Great place to battle some kids though. And last year with Mew the first trade (first person in line) included a shiny Mew, I'm sure they did it with Manaphy here too.
 
Should be much quicker this year with manaphy, unless the download station can only support 1 ds at a time.
 
if it's a download station, you wouldn't even have to line up. there'd be no way to enforce a line at all, unless you somehow cripple its wireless range to a few feet or something.
 
This is stupid.
Where's the other even Pokemon that you can not get yet in the US?

Mew was one thing..you really could not get him.
Manaphy, where many people may NOT have him, is in a sense easy to get..just go get Pokemon Ranger.

I guess I'll go anyway--I wonder how they will do this with the DS. And how they will limit you to only getting one? I guess they would have to use the Mystery Gift option..
 
From the picture it says you can download it so I guess it's mystery gift..
I wonder if you could get more one one game or in order to get more you need another game...

Most likely though I never done mystery gift, but I do know with PBR you can only get one surfing pika. I'm just hoping hehe..

I have diamond and pearl so two would be enough for me three if you include the ranger one..
 
Ill be there, hopefully it will be more well run and won't take 4 hours like the last event did. It shouldn't because it has to be a wireless download and I don't think as many people will show up for Manaphy as for Mew, Manaphy is widely available on the GTS and through Pokemon Ranger, which is a fun game in itself. Its not something you couldn't get before.

All I know is this time I am showing up early instead of an hour into the event..

I have a copy of each game so 2 should be plenty for me.
 
That's lame... an event for a Pokemon already easily obtainable. Let's see a Shaymin, Darkrai, or even Deoxys event.

Just a heads up. It'll be a wireless download with the Mystery Gift option, as opposed to the past where an employee giving each individual one, one after another.
 
Do you have to be so far in the game or can you start a new game and still be able to do the transfer thing?
It's on my pile of games to eventually play, but if you have to have so much time logged into it to unlock the transfer ability, I may bust it out and play for a few hours so I can snag manaphy.

If they're going to distribute it through the Mystery Gift, which I think is pretty likely, then you'll need to get to the Jubilife TV station to activate it. IIRC, that's not too far into the game. If we wait a little longer, they'll probably say something on the official Pokemon page about how to activate the Mystery Gift.

I'm not sure how pokemon downloads work for the DS, but saw this in the TRU email. Looks like an Exclusive Pokemon and 5 bucks off a DS game.

You download the manaphy with the mystery gift and you get the mystery gift by going to the Jubilife tv station on one of the floors I forgot which there's a man and a woman next to each other talk to the man and put in the word wifi connection then after that put everyone happy now you got the mystery gift..

Japan got him along with the 10th movie. Since I have no idea when it's coming out over here, I thought it may be something similar.
 
Anyone know if it's a special Manaphy, or just a stock one? The way it said "Exclusive" it makes me wonder if the Manaphy will have a move it normally doesn't have, or a special item.
 
Sorta special.

It's stored inside a Cherish Ball, has a Classic Ribbon, and has a Red Scarf attached to it. It likely has learned Heart Swap earlier than normal. 'least this is an alternative to not having to buy Pokémon Ranger to get it.

I assume you download the heart-melting Pokemon, and they'll hand you the coupon. Or just ask for the coupon if you get a generous CSR and skip the downloading.

Remember to stack with the 5th Grader scratch card (if it can be stacked).
