I was pretty happy with my bf haul. I arrived at WM at 440 am and got in line for the $378 lap top. i found out i was 12th in line and they were only selling 15. I got my lap top and then my friend showed up and we got some dvd's. Here's my haul:

Kohls
Finally my new Braun Activator shaver...was 141 down to 119 with 15% in store and i had a another %15 coupon on top of that with my kohls card...so it was around a$100

Not much of interest to me this year, since I got my fun money still stashed for the first 360 Premium I run into. Did pick up Far Cry: Instincts at Circuit City for $30 though, alongwith Capcom Classics Collection. Been having lots of fun with them this afternoon. Congrats on all the deals everyone was able to grab up EARLY this morning, I was working :p

I didn't grab a whole lot... money was "short" ($100 Wal-Mart GC and $40, but somehow it vanishes quick), and there weren't a whole lot of places for me to go anyway.

Wal-Mart:
GBA SP Pearl Blue (brighter screen! not technically in the sale! yesness.) - ~$50
Sandisk 256 MB USB Flash Drive - ~$15

Later at home, I stopped by EBGames.com and nabbed Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life, 2 for $30. Figured the little sis would enjoy that for her birthday.

Now I'm basically down to about $30 on my Wal-Mart GC and am thinking about taking advantage of the online 2 for $20 PS2 sale... but I wanted Wild Arms 3 and Dark Cloud 2, and Dark Cloud 2 conveniently vanished about as soon as I was given my gift card. (insert copious amounts of profanity here)

So yeah, I don't have a big haul, but I'm (mostly) happy with what unfolded. No nightmarish crowds or anything.

EB:

Fable Lost Chapters and Star Wars Battlefront (XBox) - $30
Doom 3 Collector's Edition - $12 (I traded in my regular XBox Doom 3 and got 8 bucks for it

Target:

The Longest Yard - $8.88

Didn't buy a ton, but got what I wanted. I already had to go to a store at Quarter to 6 AM on Tuesday, and nothing in the papers was worth going through THAT again.

I shopped two places today none of which were having BF sales
Phantom Fireworks- Buy one item get an identical one for a dollar. Spent 20 bucks
Carmel Corn Candy Store- Spent almost exactaly 10 bucks

PLus it was my birthday
you guys won't believe this. at my BB (Rt. 22 in Union, NJ), there were people who camped out in front since 11:15 on THURSDAY NIGHT!!!

WTF was there that people would do that crap? When we came back around 6am, they all just left their blankets and cup o' noodles all over the sidewalk!
my dad and i did that...though we arrived at 11:30...we were 10 and 11th in line too...at least we got the laptops we wanted...if we had gone at 12, we would not have gotten them...

I got a big fucking headache from dumbass's who show up at 10:30 AM for a "6am-11AM" sale bitching because we had no more $378 laptops.

Why does everyone want this shit so bad?

Oh JOY I saved 10 dollars off of Ultimate spider-man... Oh Wait, I didn't even want it.

SO stupid to me. I work at Best-Buy, and everyone is going crazy trying to save 5-10 dollars off of Minority report.. COME on... do you really need that?

And saving money off Routers, and hardrives and shit. Why not just find an employee and get his discount?

It was a crappy stupid day.

Shit... I got three seasons of 24 on DVD for the price of 1, that was worth it to me right there. Everything else was just the icing on the cake.

I got the last copy of Battlefront 2 for 12.99 at Wal-Mart. That's the only thing I bought, and I had to go there at like 8AM to get it. Oh well, maybe next year.

well, if you buy a bunch of items and you save 5-15 bucks per item then the savings add up pretty quick...

now the electronics i will agree with you on only cause it is the noname crap that they sell every year...i am dying to get a portable dvd player but refuse to buy a "mintek" or a "axion" or whatever...i was hoping for a sale on a nice samsung one but no luck yet

I picked up:

Amazon.com
Arrested Development Seasons 1 and 2 from Amazon.com 31.42 (considered part of my black friday spending since I would have picked it up at Best Buy)

Circuit City
XB Doom 3 9.99

Wal*Mart
Chappelle's Show Season 2 (PM'd Best Buy Ad) 14.99
PS2 Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PM'd KMart Ad) 12.99

Fry's
X360 Condemned 39.99
X360 King Kong 39.99
(Those were the only two XBOX360 Games at the 39.99 price tag)

I'm definitely happy with what I bought and I was ecstatic to grab 39.99 Xbox360 games. Now it's time to enjoy my purchases.

Arrested Development Season 1, 2
24 Season 1, 2, 3
The Shield Season 1, 2, 3
Simpsons Season 6 17.88 (PM at BB)
The Pianist
Kingdom of Heaven
The Interpreter
512MB Memory Stick Pro Duo

Amazingly, we were able to nab every single thing we were looking for. Every item advertised, we go our grubby paws on. Highlights:

Doom 3 ($10 - CC)
Lego Star Wars ($20 - Target)
Cat in the Hat DVD ($5 CC -before you ask, I felt the need to have the worst movie ever made)
The Professional DVD ($5 CC)
Napoleon Dynamite ($8, Target)
Bewitched ($8, Target)
Robots ($8, CC)
Bunch of other DVDs I don't remember off the top of my head for presents
Polaroid Cheap A$$ Digital Camera ($40, Walgreens)
Four 50-Packs of DVD-Rs at $7 each (CC)
R-Type Final ($9 - Kohls)
Taito Legends (One XBox version for me, one PS2 version for a Christmas gift - $15 each, Game Rush)
and last, but not least, MGS 3 ($10, EB)

Here's the funny/sad story of MGS3. I go into EB's at like 8am, grab a copy of the game from a shelf, and wait in line. Now most of you know that EB doesn't keep sealed versions of games on their shelves. Rather, they keep empty boxes. I figured, well, if they still have the box out, they must have the game. Wait in line for 15 minutes, give the dude the box. He says, "I don't know if we have this, but we do have used copies for $25." And I said, "Ummmm...your ad says $10 NEW." He says, "Yeah, yeah, right." Then he proceeds to ask the other dude behind the counter about it. They decide they have some new ones stored some place. So he looks for a couple of minutes, can't find anything, and then grabs a USED COPY and slaps it in the case I gave him! I thought, well, maybe it's a new copy and pay the doofus and leave the store. I get outside, look, and it's not only used, but SCRATCHED TO ABSOLUTE HELL. I contemplated going back in and arguing, but looked at the line and said screw it. I then stopped by a different EB on the way home (closer to my house, but I was at the mall so that's why I bought the original there) and told them the story. The manager there, Mike, said, "That's crap!" and immediately gave me a NEW COPY, no questions asked.

For anyone on the southside of Indy, go to the EB at Southport and Emerson. It totally kicks the ass of every other game store in town. Those guys are GREAT and they care about their customers...even if they went to a different store!

Some of the deals are dumb, but Arrested Development S2 has never been this low. Not even close. Same with the 24 sets, etc. I saved over 50 percent off the regular price on everything I bought, and when you add it all up, its definitely worth it.

On the other hand, the worst is when people go crazy for Black Friday merch... at regular price. Case in point: guy waits 90 minutes to complete his purchase of a PSP. Only the PSP.

Yea what the fuck is the deal with that?

People were getting mad because I had a line about 20 people long, and these idiots wanted me to unlock the case for the 50 Cent game (which wasn't on sale). Can't they see that a huge mega sale is going on, and they can wait a little while to get their non sale game?

And you could have gotten this online anyways, WOOHOO CAT IN THE HAT!!!

What a joke, this is what everyone was getting so worked up for? Well as long as you're content I guess *giggle*

:booty:

I got:
512 SD Card from bb (price not that great, 19.99 a/r)
Killzone, MAT 3, Capcom Collection, and Kill.switch for $36 from gamecrazy
Simpsons s. 6 and Laguna Beach from target
Casino Anniversary $9 from media play

I didn't buy that much but this will all keep me busy for awhile and some good prices.

Haha, I can beat that. The woman in front of me in line at CC for 45 minutes bought 2 PSPs. That's it. I was so confused. I almost thought there was a deal on them or something, but nope, $249.
Nvida geforce 7800 gt 256 graphics card - $279.99 (AR)

CSI Season 2 - $19.99
Point Break DVD - $2.99
Devils Advocate - $2.99
Ring - $2.99
Family Guy Untold Story - $8.88
Harry Potter Movies (all 3) @ $5.88 each

Guys - sorry if this was covered - I didn't realize anyone had the CSI seasons for this cheap - would you pls. let me know who had them for $ 19.99 . Was it just S1 and S2 or others? THANKS!

I bought Star Wars Battlefront 2 ($12.99) after a price-match at Walmart, Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 ($9.99) and Doom 3: Collector's Edition ($19.99) at Gamestop.

Ugh, I truly don't see the point why people go so crazy for these sales. More than half the electronics are off brand, low quality products..cameras that take crappy pictures...DVD players that aren't even true DVD players..just software...and the laptops? A few thousand people in the US are going to be frustrated with constant overheating, bad power supplies, and hard drives that crash in a few months.

As for myself, I went out later. I pricematched a monitor at Fry's that I had bought from them two weeks ago, got $50 store credit, bought myself a volume of Evangelion [regular price] and a midi cable/software kit [regular price] and rounded it out with a box of jelly beans, I went to Ross, bought some cute designer clothing for cheap, then I went to Walmart, bought Rush Hour 2 for $2.88 and almost bought Stewie Griffin for $8 price matched, but decided not to, out of respect for Meg [making her become transgendered and change her name to Ron is just low]

I don't see why you'd park in line for a first gen GBASP? The new screen variety are only $30 and it's quite worth it. Or even better, just get a cool looking Japanese one, most of the colors and designs are under $90 these days. My mom bought a rug for $19 at Lowe's...that was okay....she didn't have to get up at 5 for it.

Either way, I've gotten better clearances during regular season. $5 games at Target and Walmart, electronics open box about 75% off at Circuit City/Best Buy, a Panasonic HDTV for $250...

Since nothing in the ads caught my eye, I stayed home until some of my friends call me about going to the mall. While there, I bought that two-pack of Hori extendable styli for the DS...because I lost my first DS stylus the day after its one-year anniversary. We wound up at Best Buy because my friend said he saw a sign in the anime section for $2 for $25 when he was there around 4pm-ish (so it wouldn't have been an early-bird special). Even though I can't stand to watch anime anymore, I couldn't pass up that deal. It was already almost ten before we left the mall but BB was open until 11 tonight. I got there and saw it was only for GitS:SAC second-some-or-other. I saw a stack of Lite-On DVD recorders (not burner) that also plays MP4 movies and was disappointed to find they were still over $100; would've bought that if it were lower than $100. I picked up volume 2 of the remastered Evangelion for $8.99 after BBB since there weren't any in stock at the BB by my college (home for the holiday).

So it was a disappointing day...because I actually bought something at all.

Final haul:

EBGames:
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - $9.99

Circuit City:
Infected - $29.99
Call of Duty 2 - $22.49 (Pm'd to BB plus Pricematch plus)

Overall, not a bad day.

what i don't understand is why people line up at 10 mm to save $100. Id much rather just work the extra 8 hours and be warm and sleep at normal hours then deal with that crap.

I got Family Guy Vol. 2 at Target for 17.88 around 7:30 PM and that's all. I was going to get Mario Kart DS, but I got other games I really need to finish first.

damn, whered ya find that?

I got COD2 from Fry's, my mom ended up getting the $500 laptop (pretty much the $380 BB laptop) from office depot, she didnt care about spending the money there, BB was a madhouse, so was fry's, I was really dissapointed they didnt have any of the 44' inch LCD tvs when I got there.

I just got

Doom 3 and Prince of Persia for $9.99 at CC
Simpson Season 6 at Target

I left at 8:30 pm and got home by 9 pm. Nothing early was worth it for me.

Two seagate 200 gig HDs. I also sprung for HL2.

Now, I just need to fill out the tree's worth of receipts to get my MIRs.

My purchases:

Best Buy:

Kodak EasyShare C360 5.0 Megapixel Camera - $129.99
SanDisk 512 SD Card - $19.99 AR, $29.99 in store (not the best, but I was not about to deal with going to Circuit City.)
24 Season 3 - $19.99
Friday Night Lights - $5.99
Billy Madison - $3.99
The Grinch (live action) - $3.99

JC Penney
Mickey Mouse mini snowglobe - Free
Was going to buy some new boots, but the ones I wanted were sold out in my size.

Wal-Mart
Cute heart necklace + bracelet set - $23.00
6½ pre-lit artificial christmas tree - $29.99
Three strands of garland - $0.97 x 3
Cheapy DuraBrand portable CD player - $9.99
Don't use portable CD players often anymore, but my previous one finally died after many years of use. Figured I'd get a cheap one if I weren't going to use it all that much.

And then a bunch of wrapping supplies at the Ace Hardware my mothe works at. Hooray discount.

Now I'll start shopping for people besides me. ;)

So the fact that I got a ton of DVDs cheaper than I could get anywhere else, several games cheaper than anywhere else (don't forget, EB DOES charge shipping!), and several other items cheaper than anywhere else doesn't count for anything?

We saved money, that's what people get worked up for.
