At least the other games will show up as flash deals at some point... the only benefit of the community vote seems to be that it gives you a heads up as to when the game you want will be on sale.

It really just reinforces the notion that the flash/community vote sales are a hook to get you thinking about the Sale.


Anyone who likes competitive online shooters really needs to try Tribes Ascend. I wasn't a huge fan of the beta, but the released product feels great.

I'm still laughing over the jackmonkeys who think GGPO had a "poor implementation" and "ruined" 3SOE.

The other odd note is that I've not seen a single screen of what the HD reskin looks like -- all the promo shots they released look like a straight up ROM, maybe with the smoothing filters.
 
As a Software Developer I'm always curious how these decisions are made.

Manager: We need network play
Developer: We could use the pre-packaged Network library GGPO
Lead Developer: If it's Not Invented Here, we don't use it. We're building out own

I think there's some decent overhead, which is why games like UMvC3 didn't just slap it in, if Capcpcom is to be believed.
I think the only *retail* fighter (non-HD port) I can think of that uses it is Skullgirls.

Those twats think that match making == GGPO. The match making when the game came out sucked balls, but the netcode itself was always great.

There is and according to Capcom a fighter needs to be built with GGPO in mind. So guess what you should fucking start doing, Capcom?

It's funny that they're getting MVCO right and JoJo's wrong. Adopt a policy for your netcode and stick to it, motherfuckers.
 
I picked up the Indie Bundle, AC Brotherhood, the single player DLC for AC Revelations, and RAGE today. Now I finally have all of the AC games, maybe I'll play II at some point soon; I'm almost done with Saint's Row, basically conquered the entire city so I just have story missions now and I think I'm getting near the end of those. Not sure what I'll move onto after that, I might make another go at Batman Arkham Asylum, but restart and see how it looks on PC.

That's okay, I'll just save $20 and keep playing Jojo's on GGPO.
 
I finally finished taking over steelport in SR3 PS3 version. Just need to finish the challenges and find the rest of the collectibles for my first ever PS3 platinum. :p

I also started the PC version of SR3. >_<

I caved and bought the Season Pass DLC on Steam since it was cheaps.

I almost picked up Dear Esther plus soundtrack, but didn't. At least they give you a lot more time this sale to buy stuff.

The flash deals have been great so far, but I did pick up a lot of the best stuff already at pretty close to those prices anyways.
