Preorder DS lite at ebgames.com for 129.99
overstock.com has a pre order for $117 , but shpping is done by media mail. so i might take longer
Thank you for the tip. I canceled my gamestop order and ordered from overstock. With the additional tax-free savings, you saved me more than 20 bucks!

What sucks is that they charge you when you order and you can't get a refund if you use PayPal.

I don't think they charge you when you order, at least not with a CC. Why would you use Paypal?

The question is though, is that $20 worth the week+ extra long wait?

if you already have a DS to kee you busy till then...i guess ill just wait on the DS lite, it would be cool to have, but not a huge need. anyways, i'd prefer the navy blue one if it ever comes out. getting portables like the PSP DS, etc is no good if i dont have an games for it lol...i'll wait on the ds lite and jsut spend money on games, since i'm already sick of nintendo dogs lol

I thought the same thing...but im just going to get it in store. The shipping said 5-15 days, and id rather just get it instantly for $18 more. Its not very CAG-Like of me but oh well.

It may not be cheaper, but Time=Money.

Walked into EB Games today. The kid working there showed me his blue imported lite and I couldn't give them my preorder money fast enough. The screen brightness is incredible!

I've had good experiences with overstock shipping timetables, and I'm not in too much of a hurry. And in reality it's more like a $26+ difference, as I'll get the FW 4% back too. Sorry cheapy, but 4 bucks is 4 bucks.
on Overstock.com ive seen a $10 off $120 coupon and an 8% off coupon..anyone able to stack both those coupons?
Neither of these deals works for the DS lite unless you add in some other 'non media' item. They exclude orders comprised exclusively of media, and the site has the system inside a media category. The 116 deal uses the 10% off and free shipping coupons (stackable) quoted in previous overstock.com threads (including the deal of the day thread).

EDIT: I tried adding a small non-media item to the order (e.g. a 33 cent staple remover) to make the 8% coupon valid, but I found out that it's not stackable with the 10% off coupon. The discount just switches to 10% when that is applied.
What is the FW 4%? So the overstock price went back up.. what's the cheapest way to get this?
Fatwallet cashback program for buying through their website.

DOn't know about the best deals part, I just sold my fat and preordered at EB........ Who is numba one? Me.

If you sign up at fatwallet.com and buy through their referral links, they refund you a certain portion of what they get from the merchant. In the case of overstock.com, it's 4% back.

The overstock.com price HAS NOT changed - still the best deal. You get the 116.xx price by stacking the 10% off and free shipping coupons as described in the overstock.com deal of day thread.

I can't find the overstock deal of the day thread, could you elaborate on this? I think I might try it.

From that thread, courtesy of little_krampy and/or cheapy:

Right now there are stackable 10% off and free shipping coupons. Add an item to your cart and check the 'Yes, I have a GC or Promo Code' box. Enter 73622, then continue onto the next screen. Now backup to the cart screen again, uncheck the box and check it again. This time enter 85704. Continue onto the next screen and you should see 10% off and free shipping.

i got the free shipping and 10% off to work, im ready to order both the ds lite and mario, but i chatted online with their cust service and they have no idea when the paypal payment will be restored. this sucks since i dont want to use a credit card

Why would you possibly choose to use PayPal over a credit card? PayPal offers all the risk and none of the protection of a real bank. A credit card has a large banking organization behind it and offers a lot more protection.

My american express credit card was charged by overstock.com immediately after pre-ordering this NDS Lite. Is it legal for overstock to do that before shipping the NDSL ?

So this is what I'm planning on doing. You get $5 bonus bucks just for trying the FatWallet Money program... so that's cool. Now, apparently you can combine the $15 of $150 for new customers and the 4% off total for FW Bucks. That'll give you a like $twenty something dollars in FW bucks. Then I'll get the DS Lite, New Mario Bros, and Mario 128 or whatever for around $170 shipped. Subtract the twenty-something for the FW bucks and the total will be around $1fourty-something.. sounds right?

edit: Actually I just realized that New Mario Brothers is even cheaper at CC right now. Well regardless I'll try the deal with some other game as soon as I have enough money in my paypal account. (an additional 1.5% cashback) :)

paypal isnt working on overstock.com last time i checked, i chatted online and they have no idea when it will be up again. hopefully these coupons for 10% off and free shipping won be gone by then

They can do a pre-hold on the money and make sure you have the funds.

Do you mean charged or authorized (temp charged)? If a real charge was placed, ruh roh! I don't know if it's legal, but I do know it sucks.

Well, the $15 comes off right away as an outpost coupon - nothing to do with FW. You would get the 4% "FW bucks" back based on the discounted purchase amount. But $15 off $150 is just 10% off. You could just use the 10% off coupon previously quoted.

WARNING: They DO charge you immediately for pre-orders. The immediate FW credit was a red flag on this. This is standard overstock policy according to the CSR I spoke with. I guess it must be legal...? What's worse is that they do not have an easy cancellation policy. If you call at least 7 days prior to scheduled release, they do what they can to try to cancel.

I'm going to stick with the deal because it's a good one, but this may be a dealbreaker for some.

You can stack the $15 + 4% OR the 10% + 4% but not the $15 + 10% + 4%.

Ok thanks. You've been a real help. I'm still trying to decide what I wanna do... But I'll probably get the DS Lite + Mario 128 + Liberty City Stories and pick up New Mario at best buy.. (hopefully I can find a GGC)

It's legal, but it may not be allowed by the card issuer. You should file a complaint with your bank and they'll tell you if it's allowed.

trust me. overstock.com sucks. I used my $125 superGC (from giftcertificate.com) and bought $125 overstock.com gift certificate. I want to use them on the DS lite preorder. After I entered my GC, the 8% off disappeared. I called them, they just told me that GC acts like a coupon in their system. I said that that is just wrong. GC is one of the payment methods like credit card payment. They refused to admit that their system is wrong. This is the first time I've ever heard that an online merchant treats gift certifcate as a coupon. Man, that sucks. I could have used my supergc to buy other gcs like staples or whatever I like. Now I am stucked with the stupid overstock.com GC. So just placed an order on DS lite. Have to pay the full price without any discount. Hopefully it will be mailed out on schedule.

Done. I put $25 down and will pay the balance when I pick it up. I haven't preordered something since September of 1999 when I bought a Dreamcast.

My theory on Overstock is (knock on wood) I have yet to have a bad experience. I've had slow experiences. Products do take a while to show up. But I have my fat DS in the meantime.

If I didn't have the fat DS, I'd probably preorder in store.
If I didn't have the fat DS, I'd probably preorder in store.
That's why I preordered - going one month without playing NSMB is going to be tough...

I put $25 down at Gamestop. They are still offering $50 trade-in for a used DS, I'm still deciding whether to do this or not.

I was contemplating the Overstock deal, but after reading about people's less than satisfactory experiences, I'm just going to stick with my GS pre-order.
I put $25 down at Gamestop. They are still offering $50 trade-in for a used DS, I'm still deciding whether to do this or not.
Do it - there's no reason to keep it, is there?
Do it - there's no reason to keep it, is there?
Well, you could ebay it for significantly more than 50. That's what I'll be doing - I expect to get 85+ for it (but I have the original box and everything). Timing will be key here as everyone will be listing them when the LITE is released.

Sold mine w/ box and manuals and charger (plus a rare DS skin), got $99.99 + $10 shipping (only cost 4.57 to ship)...that's what, 105.43? Not bad, considering what I paid for it ($92 shipped for the system, Mario 64 DS and non-GH FF8, complete)

Good job. Maybe next time you can charge actual shipping instead of swindling someone out of 5 bucks. :applause:

Personally, I've made profit on shipping and I've taken losses on shipping. Its a crapshoot at best really.

This is extremely dumb. How is it swindling if people see it up front? They factor it into their total purchase price (i.e. if shipping were lower, the winning bid would likely be higher).

Many eBay sellers have 99-cent items with 20 dollar shipping, but if the item's a good deal at 21 dollars, people will still buy it. It's not like they bid furiously thinking they'll get the item for a buck and then get slammed with the shipping.
