Prepare to be.....ENSLAVED-Due out Oct. 5th(Dev. by Ninja Theory,Pub by Bandai/Namco)

So no one else is bothered a bit by the camera? And sometimes trying to duck behind cover is difficult. Monkey likes to get hung up on the wall. I might just suck though. I just wish the camera wouldnt swing behind me so fast as I like to look around while running to see the environment while searching for orbs.

I didn't have too many camera issues since the more elaborate camera changes don't really occur during battle, but yeah the cover issue was pretty bad... you try to bolt out behind cover but he sorta gets stuck for a bit until you waggle the analog stick a bit or run a slant out and away from the cover.

I am really loving the story and atmosphere (voice acting is superb), but the shimmering of the graphics every time the camera pans gets annoying. And every single cut scene has the same issue along with texture pop in. If they had fixed these graphical hitches and a somewhat janky camera this could have been even better.

Wow the demo was awful. Great graphics, good acting but it's barely a game. I felt like I was just mashing the buttons and succeeding. The controls were so floaty and delayed it felt like it was on autopilot.

Can't wait to see what they do with DMC...
Alright. So who else ordered this game from Amazon's DOTD today for $25?
I passed. I bought their last game for $20 on BF 2008 and felt ripped off.

You mean Heavenly Sword? I had that game too and I couldn't stand it, but I re-bought a couple copies recently using those Fallout: New Vegas $15 off coupons at Kmart. Since it's only $14.99 there I had to buy some clearanced silver Dual Shock 2's with each copy to get it up over the $15 mark for the coupon, but for free I'll try the game again.;)

Yeah, Heavily Bored was it. Thank god it was short but the combat was unintuitive, it used six axis controls at times (nothing pissed me off more than that shit), and the only thing going for it was voice acting/mo-cap from Andy Serkis. God, just thinking about that game makes me never want to play Enslaved.

Thank you for having a sane opinion on that demo.

How much has this game sold by the way? Will NPD be coming out soon?

You made the right call then. Every time I started playing Enslaved it reminded me of Heavenly Sword. The graphics engine and art direction were very similar. They both had a camera that would hitch and stutter and both had the same hair on the lead character. I swear they took the Heavenly Sword characters hair and put it right onto the Enslaved girl.

Having said that I liked the story, but wont play it more than once as it was boring and that camera hitch really bothered me.

I did. Its coming today according to the tracking which is insanely fast. I can't wait to play it. 25 seemed like a extremely good deal.

Unfortunately I have a feeling it's going to tank even further soon enough though. It's already down to an MSRP of $39.99 and it hasn't been out that long, so it may well go down to $19.99 soon.

I paid full price for Enslaved, £39.99 from GAME (a major retailer here in the UK). A few weeks later and £15 has already been slashed off it! It's now retailing for £22.99. I can't say I'm disappointed paying full price though --- I loved the game, from start (to the admittedly short) finish. It's a shame that this game didn't sell (last I heard it sold 150,000 copies world wide, but that figure must have gone up now the price has been slashed) as a sequel would have been great. Saying all this, it hasn't really got much replay value, although I'm looking forward to the Pigsy DLC.

Oh, did I also mention that I loved Heavenly Sword?

Not to sound incredibly pretentious, but why did you enjoy Heavenly Sword? And, have you played any other sort of hack-n-slash in your time?

I'm serious, sorry if I sound like a douche.

I liked the characters, the voice acting / mo cap, and the story was ok-ish. I did get annoyed with the six axis controls, though (firing the cannons and controlling Kai's arrows...pain in the ass) but then I realised you could turn it off and just use the anologue sticks. That made it more user friendly. The combat was alright, but it definitely had nothing on God of War (that's really the only ever type of game in the genre I have played). I mean you couldn't even jump!

HOWEVER, the reason I probably enjoyed Heavenly Sword so much is because it came at a time when there wasn't really much software on the PS3. I HAD to enjoy it :p

I had that feeling as well. If it drops to 20 that's alright since I only paid 25 for it. Hopefully it don't tank as soon as I think it will. I played the first two chapters. It isn't a bad game. I'm enjoying it so far.

I'm just surprised by how quickly this game is dropping in price. With it being $40 MSRP already and $25 on Amazon the other day I have a feeling this is going to be a 'doorbuster' for Black Friday someplace for $19.99.

How similar to Heavenly Sword is it? I ask because some of the portions of HS I could not stand at all(aka the forced QTE's for the end of boss battles, having to use SixAxis initially on several parts).

Guilty... arrived today, haven't even loaded it. I'm looking forward to it, but I'm treating it more like a movie than a game. If I get 4 or 5 hours and a decent story out of it, I'll be fairly happy.

I'm still waiting for the email from Amazon saying mine shipped.:bomb: I ordered in the afternoon the day they had it on sale and I got an estimated shipping timeframe of the 16th to the 22nd of this month. Yet it still said in stock.

It's ok, since I still wanna try and go through more of Just Cause 2 before this game shows up. Either way I'll probably play this, beat it and then trade it in someplace for $20-ish by then.

could one of you amazon guys make a cover scan for us folk that picked this up at K-mart The cover art is different ("free comic") and amazon won't accept trades on it.

You're talking about the PS3 version, right? Someone said there's a sticker over the real UPC and that all you have to do is remove that sticker and the UPC should be the right one.

I think Confoosious was saying that was the case for the 360 version. Just double checked the PS3- no sticker.

well thats good that the price is dropping fast i wanted to at least check out the story but not at full price. overall is it a good game?

Man oh man. Amazon must've hired Speedy Gonzalez' retarded cousin Slowpoke Rodriguez to pack my copy of the fuckin' game. It's still in 'shipping soon' status and has been for over a day. WTF Amazon. It didn't take this long to get what I ordered the last time and that was with FSSS too.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I have Amazon Prime. I'm sure that's the reason for my speedy shipment.

I managed to get about halfway through chapter 3 today. So far, it's a pretty good mix of wandering, "jump the monkey" and combat. I expect I'll play through it once for the story, then spend a couple weeks "trophy hunting". Not fantastic (very scripted and very linear), but money well spent, IMO.

Not a bad game, although some of its technical faults will surely upset a few of you who got it from Amazon.
Decent story, and definitely worth the $25.00 you may have paid. If they would've spent another month or two cleaning up the graphics, improving the combat, and the frame-rate issues this would've been a great game.

One moment I HATE Trip. The next moment I want to hug her and tell her everything is going to be okay. And then I go back to hate again. ... And then back to protective.

I'm enjoying the game but it reminds me a little too much of some of the women in my short life.

I can't even finish chapter 2. When I get to the part where I need to shoot down a billboard to destroy a turret, I can't bring up the targeting reticle once I pick up the ammo on the catwalk. I tried three different controllers, so either I'm an idiot or this is an amazingly rare bug.

Probably isn't a bug since no one else reported it. That would leave you holding the wrong button. Did you change your button configuration? Either way make sure you are holding the correct the button.

That part is glitchy. You can run out of ammo, and have to go back down to get more. It's particularly bad if you have not upgraded your staff at all yet.

I played up till Chapter 8 or so Friday night into Saturday morning. I played the game for about 4-4.5 hours straight, so that says something about it. If I hate a game and it's combat, then I'll play an hour or two at most and then quit for the night.

I'm starting Ch. 9 now. Definitely not a keeper. The story is kind of slow and not all that engaging to me.

Elements like Monkey lifting up 'doors' and throwing Trip up feels very repetitive. It doesn't happen that much, but using the same animated sequence with a paint job seems lazy.

Haven't figured out the multi-quote thing here yet, so I'm just going to reference a bunch of previous points...

I beat it on Normal... the controls are fine for everything except the staff targeting, which is a major part of the last "battle" (oh, the staff targeting button is L1 on the PS3 - I never had an issue with it). The sometimes-locked camera view can also get a bit messy, especially when you have to change your control direction because the camera swiveled. Combat is messy... almost like they had three different developers fighting about the controls and they never came to any agreement. Note: This is all referencing the PS3... I have no idea how the other versions are.

Story isn't bad, it was enough to keep me interested. The ending was a bit of a let-down, IMO. I won't spoil it, but I was expecting better.

I doubt I'll platinum this unless I have a week or so of absolutely nothing else to do. I really don't want to do the whole thing on Hard again and I don't feel like hunting all the orbs. I can snag a handful more trophies with a couple hours of play, which I'll probably do.

There are some glitches, but I was able to work through them all. The one that took me the longest to figure out was the windmill control... On Trips menu, you often have to "jiggle the joystick" repeatedly to get her to stop or start the windmill. Same on the submarine controls.

All in all, money well spent, IMO. I'll come back to it periodically and play a chapter or two here or there over the next few months. In the mean time, it's back to trying to get my first Platinum on NFS:Shift. ;)

I agree with pretty much all your points smthng. I didnt bother going back in for Hard because it would have bored me to tears and I hated that ending. Good game, but could have been much more.

Done! Still no warm fuzzies for Trip, or Monkey. Story was sadly underwhelming to the end. I couldn't work up any emotional pull for these characters.

Hated the choppy frame rate issues, random out of sync voices, and the annoying Cloud chase scenes. That Rhino got me angry a few times too. The stupid mask payoff nailed the coffin and sent it on a journey to trade heaven.

Why do Mechs roar? That irks me.

Hmm. In my case, the problem was actually that the game glitched out stopped receiving inputs from the L2/R2 buttons entirely. Worked fine when I tried to play again the next day so I guess a restart fixes it.

Started first playthrough on hard. Got to level 5, story is ok so far but I really hate the damn camera. Camera caused me to die on the boss on level 2 multiple times because it would get stuck on a wall or something else. So dumb. Kind of wish it were a fixed 3/4 camera or at least have an option to have it in fixed position. I can definitely see when the screen is getting refreshed or whatever it is called cause things get really jagged in parts. Going to try beating this on hard first, then maybe digging up a guide on the collectible locations (orbs and masks) so I can get the platinum. Maybe playing on easy through the chapter select for the remaining trophy challenges.

OK. That was an anti-climatic ending to a game that had me ramped up towards the end thinking there would be some major resolution and closure to every facet of the storyline.

SPOILERS:
I really thought there would be another cutscene after Trip ripped out the cables from 'the old one' showing her and Monkey going off into the cliche sunset or something, since I think they were kinda building up that they were getting pretty close throughout the game.

But just to see credits for 10 minutes and then NOTHING....SUCKED.

I don't know if maybe they left it open for a possible sequel or what, but the lack of closure at the end of the story was a bit annoying for me.

^It was all about Illuminati controlling the world, TRIP free them from the Illuminati SLAVE world, THAT IS THE CLOSURE, not so hard to understand after you notice the symbolism aka PYRAMID/SUN ect...

BTW This game didn't sell so do not expect a Sequel, the ending was pretty much perfect since it doesn't tell you a sequel can happen, the devs played it safe.

Now they have moved on to going 100 percent on making Devil May Cry, which if it
sells good will be their yearly game.

Meh. If I wanted another annoying Illuminati story I would go back and watch National Trash with Nick Cage again.

I kind of figured the game didn't sell well enough since it's already price dropped at least once and been on sale for $25 or so from Amazon at least 2-3 times already.

I'm sick of devs 'playing it safe' though and going with virtual yearly sequels and if this game's glitchiness in some spots is any indication the reboot or whatever of DMC is gonna be a jumpy affair with shitty framerates.

Beat the game on hard, now to run through again to collect all the damn orbs... so hard to find the last 2-3% on a level.

The Bad Doggy/Rhino trophies are had as F to get. Is it recommended on easy difficulty to make the time limit, or does the difficulty not play into the trophy.

The thing that makes the orbs really terrible is that they don't let you access your % within the level, so you never know if you are done until you complete/quit.

If they were smart they would have included some sort of orb tracker or a rehash on that system with the Pigsy expansion pack.
