And that train of thought, my friend, is why we (Americans) are spiraling downward. People (like you) insist that we no longer need religion. But when someone gets fired from a job for no reason other than for the company to save money, we say that it's wrong. When good people get robbed, raped, and killed we say that it's wrong.
Religion provides us with sensible sets of values on how and why you should do certain things. If I suddenly lost my job, without religion to guide me I have no boundaries. I would not think twice about stealing from children. I would not care if I have to rob the elderly to get some chump change.
According to your view, MSI Magus, I am simply doing "what is" without regard to what is right and wrong. I am hungry, I need food, therefore, I steal food. And why not? As long as I don't get caught by the police because really, that's all I have to watch out for.
Say and think what you want but when anything bad happens, whether it is disasters, war-torn areas, or poverty, America is always there to help (wish I could say the same for other countries). And I truly believe that it is because our country is founded on Christian values and this just makes us want to help people.
If all that's keeping you from robbing, raping, and killing is your religion, then I think the rest of us - that is, anyone who's capable off not killing someone without the threat of hellfire to keep 'em in line - have a duty to make sure that you're in church every hour of every day of your life.
EDIT: Shit, the capitalization monster got Myke, too!
