PS HOME Free Items / Clothes / Freebies Wiki

I suspect some people forget that free isn't really free if it takes a lot of your time to get it.

Just imagine, for 179 accounts, even if they were all alt accounts, that's at least 18 hours of 'work' (tedious work at that) for just 17,900 chips, and yet for just $20 you can buy 40,000 chips.

Now just imagine if all of those accounts were real, it would take a lot more than an average of over 5 minutes per account to locate each account holder, make sure they have not been to the Casino before, and to hope they go to the Casino within an hour of being registered.

Your average Chinese laborer makes more money an hour than that!

I'm sorry, but if something takes up an hour of your time, let alone 18 hours of your time, it isn't "Free".

So if anyone isn't just using alt accounts for this, and has signed up more than just a handful of real people, they may not realize it yet, but they just got hoodwinked by Digital Leisure, as they are basically acting as a marketing tool for Digital Leisure and being 'paid' less than a $1 an hour in virtual chips no less to do it. *OUCH*

Well tbh i garnered my chips and 25 people, hit the weeks leaderboard and did so all within an hour of sitting in the hub chatting. All legitimate. The thing is i figured its cheap labour along the way, youre basically a guy on the corner of the road with a billboard advertising but you know what? I was bored on a sunday, wanted some chips and did an alright job apparently. Im not sour in fact ive already translated those chips into rewards now and am kinda hoping somehow there may be rewards for top three or possibly top ten ambassadors. :) and welcome to home where we are all marketing tools anyways amirite?

For those doing the Flirt game in the new x7 VIP Club, the fastest way I have found to get points is to do the following:

Find someone to pair up with and move to a less populated area so that it's easy to select each other each time you send flirts.

When sending, always send the last flirt "Do you know Karate?".

When responding always use the last response "I LOVE YOU".

If done correctly you should see an option to lean in and kiss (press triangle).

You'll earn 300+ points each time. (compared to the usual 5 points for most flirts)

To get the crown you'll have to accumulate 25k points, but with a partner that knows what they are doing, you can get 25k in less than an hour.

However, be warned, some have said the game stopped working, and it reset all their points. To protect yourself, I suggest quitting the game every 10 minutes or so, as this will automatically save your points. This way, if the game does crash on you, you will only lose the points you earned since the last time you restarted the game.

If you are not sure how to even start the game, it's not obvious, but you start the game by walking up to any of the waitresses that are roaming all over the club area, and you'll see a prompt to click X to play Flirt.

It is being real sketchy for me. I only got the watermelon, none of the other rewards dropped. Even the shooting gallery, only the Starving Ghost Doll was in the range to be shot and i knocked it down and it said i got it 3 different times, but it didn't give me the reward. Guess I'll give them a couple days to fix the bugs.

EDIT: All but the Sushi popped up upon logging into Home the next time.

Anyone know if you get anything special from watching the entire marathon?? How about the hoodies that we didn't get at the end and also the winner hoodie?

The marathon is going on in Theater 2 i think which is why i'm asking.

Jason

I think the tester rewards were horrible!! I felt it was a huge waste of time, that's why I stood away from that whole quest thing..

From what the message had said, the marathon is simply for making up missed episodes.

I got about halfway through the marathon before I got an error and had to logout of Home, but for some reason I got the trophy.
I wasn't able to get any of the hoodies.

Anyone else randomly recieve a few movie poster rewards and an animated snowflake picture frame upon logging into Home? I haven't watched any EOD movies in months. And Christmas is waaay over, so I have no clue where the frame came from. Not complaining, just wondering if I'm not the only one who got these out of nowhere, lol.

The snowflake frame was the prize from one of the winter quests in which you & two friends at the pier dance floor would take a picture together.

Well, that would be nice. Hell, I can't even log in today...
[Network Error: The connection to the server was lost D5021]

Has anyone seen an official post regarding all the recent PSHome network connection issues?

It was suspect when it started occurring on the day of the one-year anniversary of last years "Anonymous" breach, but then I also heard that portugal is testing the new core code for PSN? ...so I don't know what is going on in truth.

OK, so in answer to my own post a couple lines up, here is some BIG news regarding this weeks PSHome update -- and I must say, I am pretty excited about all of this!

Weekly Blog Update for Home by Cede
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012...ts-by-dr-dre-new-x7-exclusives-weekly-update/

Patch Notes By GlassWalls
http://community.us.playstation.com/thread/4688013

From Cede's Post:
Let me get to the biggest news of the week—PlayStation Home gets an exciting new core client update. With it come a bunch of new features and improvements, including:"
  • A new simplified Menu Screen
  • Furniture slot memory adjustments and enhanced visual display of available memory use
  • A new Voice Chat system
  • Alerts are now integrated better
  • Shopping right from the Wardrobe
  • Cross game invite system has been expanded
  • Improved stability of real time games
  • And more!
From GlassWalls Patch Notes:
Home 1.65 Client Update

Application of the patch

If you are upgrading from an old version of Home (1.40 or earlier) then when you attempt to apply the 1.65 patch please wait for the orange “hard drive activity” light to stop flashing on your PS3 before commencing the patching process.

New Features

Menu Screen

  • The new Menu Screen replaces the old Menu Pad.
  • It functions in a very similar way to the old Menu Pad but we have made many improvements to its speed and ease of use.
    • It starts faster and responds better making it quicker and more satisfying to navigate around.
    • There is an updated graphical design.
    • And a much better layout.
      • Key options are more readily accessible.
      • All options are in more logical places and easier to find.
    • Everything is clearer because there is room to lay things out properly when using the full size of the screen.
    • Options to globally disable voice or text chat have been removed from the Menu Screen as these already exist in the Home Safe Screen (accessed with [SELECT]).
  • Browsing your inventory from the Menu Screen now uses the same system as the Wardrobe and Furniture Browser. This means:
    • It is much quicker to open and view your inventory.
    • You can sort and filter your items.
    • You can move Portable items, such as companions, that you do not use very often into Portable item Storage.
      • This will allow much faster access to your favorite Portables.
      • If you can’t find a particular Portable check in Storage first.
Furniture slots

  • Each apartment or clubhouse can hold up to 100 items of furniture measured in slots. Prior to patch 1.65 a Normal Furniture Item always took up 1 slot and an Active Furniture Item always took up 22 slots.
  • With patch 1.65 developers will now be able to create Normal and Active Furniture Items of different slot sizes. Therefore Active Furniture Items can be created that take up fewer slots and you will be able to place as many Active Furniture Items in your personal space as will fit.
  • Please note that all existing furniture items created prior to patch 1.65 will still be either 1 or 22 slots in size.
  • To make it easier to organize, the furniture placement menus now display a new bar that provides a visual representation of the furniture slots in use.
    • This shows the number of slots used, the number of slots free and how many slots the currently selected item of furniture uses.
    • It warns you if placing the selected item would exceed the capacity of your Personal Space.
    • It shows how the slot usage will change if you remove multiple items.
  • The furniture detail menu (accessed by clicking the left stick [L3]) shows how many furniture slots a specific item occupies.
  • How many slots a piece of furniture will use is also displayed on the detail page of each item when you are viewing it in the store.
Personal Voice Chat

  • The new Personal Voice Chat system replaces the old Telephone Call system.
    • A Personal Voice Chat behaves in a similar manner to a Telephone call and can be initiated in the same way (from the Friends list, from the Chat Log or by targeting someone).
    • The major benefit of this new system is that a Personal Voice Chat is treated as another voice channel by the chat log.
      • This means all communication is now managed from one place: the Chat Log.
      • You can switch between voice channels while remaining in a Personal Voice Chat without having to end the conversation.
Alerts

  • Alerts have been integrated into a new, third tab in the Chat Log.
    • The Alerts that pop up on screen have a new graphical design.
    • Pressing [START] with an alert on screen now opens the Alert tab in the Chat Log.
      • And when you are viewing the Alerts tab pressing [START] opens the Menu Screen regardless of any Alerts that might be arriving at the time.
    • Much like the original Alerts menu you can view a list of active Alerts and interact with them from this tab.
    • The tab also indicates how many Alerts are available to view.
Shop from the Wardrobe
  • There is a new option to shop for clothing directly from the Wardrobe
    • Extra “Shopping” chips have been added to the Wardrobe overview as well as each category of clothing.
    • These chips take you to shops offering more clothing choices.
Cross game invite to group

  • The cross game invite system has been expanded and now allows you to invite friends outside PlayStation Home directly into your group.
    • When you are in a group you can access this new type of cross game invite from the Groups area of the Menu Screen.
    • Standard cross game invites are still available but will not put your friend into your group.
Grief Reporting

  • The Grief Reporting interface has been updated.
    • The process of submitting a report is a lot simpler and requires fewer button presses.
    • The whole system is a lot more robust.
    • More feedback is provided if there is a problem.
    • A new graphical design brings the interface more in line with the rest of PlayStation Home including reflecting your chosen pop-up color.
Improvements

Video screen interface

  • The interface on all of the video screens around PlayStation Home has been improved. This includes:
    • An updated graphical design when loading videos.
    • More information about what is happening.
General

  • Improved the stability of real time games making it more likely that you will be able to consistently and reliably join one.
  • Optimized the start up flow by combining some of the configuration files into a single download. This may reduce the log in time by a small amount and will help reduce the chance of an error during log in.
  • Changed the general download system that PlayStation Home uses to increase responsiveness and potentially provide a small improvement to download speeds.
  • Made some general improvements to networking that should increase reliability.
  • Smoothed out the loading of images for display on either side of the message of the day.

Haven't seen this mentioned yet but Diesel items will be removed from the store this week, at least in the EU. I think this affects NA also. Info is in this thread:
http://community.us.playstation.com/thread/4687159?start=0&tstart=0

From GlassWalls:

Re: [EU] Diesel Island is leaving

Yes, this is correct. Diesel's current campaign is over and they want to work on something new. They're not leaving Home entirely though—just as in fashion, out with the old season, in with the new. Stay tuned to see what they bring us next!

Note: None of your owned Diesel purchases will disappear from your Wardrobe or Furniture inventory. The current items will just be removed from the racks, so to speak, on April 25th when the beach disappears. So if you like their current offerings and their beach, be sure to pick up what you love and enjoy the beach while it's still here!

Also, there is a new Wardrobe Wars participant reward- a denim backpack for women.

Turns out to be a known issue loading personal spaces only. Hopefully will be fixed in the next update.

The name of the apartment is 'Ansada Fone Space (night)'.

PlayStation Home Maintenance on 04/24/12

Hey everyone,

We will be taking PlayStation Home offline at approximately 1:00am PDT/4:00am EDT on Tuesday, April 24th for maintenance. The reason we are taking the service down is to address the issues you have reported over the weekend regarding network errors, such as disconnects when attempting to access personal spaces.

We will need the help of the community in the hours following this maintenance to confirm that all associated errors have ceased. Please report any connectivity issues or network errors (such as D5021messages) in this thread after the maintenance period has ended and we will alert our development team accordingly.

We thank you for your support and patience with this issue.

That being said, this is excellent news. I would really like to get back to my xp boosting on Aurora Island Defender so I can get that champion apartment, among other things.

btw Congrats on getting the Ansada Fone Night apt, Hellmutt. (I'm curious ... This with or without the aid of the Five-Leaf Clover Chair?) :applause:

Where is that trap game anyway? I haven't been to Aurora in quite some time. And since people keep mentioning the game, I want to take a peek. Problem is, I can't even find it, lol.

if you are standing facing the orb game "tree-balloon", it is a cage hanging on your right (to your left facing the lounge and chairs).

Awesome! Thank you for the heads up Bunny!

Yes congrats then Hellmutt! ( I thought you meant you were unable to even get ingame, not just certain spaces)

That is a great question Bunny! I have wondered at the comments I have heard regarding the 5-leaf clover chair also, like "it seems I win less since I bought it", so I have really debated getting it. I would not hesitate however if I knew they would be adding/updating the rewards in it though.

No worries, my original message wasn't clear.

I do NOT own a 5-leaf clover chair. i think I've played that game 4 times so far. The first two times struck out, the third time I got some floating doughnut or something, and then this last time the apartment. Hopefully I'll get to check it out tonight.

I got the nighttime version of the apartment without having the chair. So far the trap has given me an active floating donut thing, a fog machine, and the personal space.

[quote name='Gram']I've tried maybe 5 times and got a donut the first time and nothing since.[/QUOTE]

Same for me, got the Smoke Machine (Green) first time, nothing since after more 5 tries.

WARNING: Avoid Home if at all possible - it's a disaster!

As if all the disconnects from last week were bad enough, Home 1.65 finally went online a few hours ago and it's freezing people's systems.

The official forum got hit by so many complaints, and now Sony has shutdown their forums, but with a seriously outdated message:

Down for Maintenance

We are continuously working to improve your experience on the PlayStation Community Forums. As such, we are currently down for some scheduled maintenance, but we expect to be back and fully functional by 1:30 AM PST on Tuesday, April 10.
Please come back and resume the PlayStation conversation with us then... we're anxiously waiting too!
So much for Home getting more stable and reliable with each and every update.

Free couch from the x7 bartender.
New orange tuxedo reward for achieving Tier 1 in all the casino games.
There's also a fountain reward from the Lucky Fountain game in the casino (it took me 93 tries/chips to get the fountain).

Thanks a bunch, Ir0n. Can't believe I overlooked something that big, lol. Checking my first trap tomorrow. Big thanks, buddy.

By the way, I've been recollecting my favorites today. All that's left is the Move space, if anyone has it. Lost spaces I have so far: Minis space Guitar Hero VIP Lounge space The LBP2 Prius space & The Moonbase space If you need help getting any of these, don't hesitate to ask/add me, I'd be glad to lend a hand. :D

Hellmutt, you are welcome to look me up. I am a chronic insomniac, so there will most likely be many times when our paths will cross on HOME! *smile*

Seems all 3 of us will be seeing each other quite often then. A little update to my list, I must have forgotten to place the Prius space into my favorites. But I now have the Peakvox Ninja Open Beta space added. Stalked a buddy to get there as well as the Doublesix space, lol. I'll definitely send you a request, Valzgr8. See you all in Home! :D

just a quick question on the lost / hidden spaces... are they region free, as in you can get to them in any region or are they US (SCEA) tied? I already have them all saved and was just wondering.

Hi Valzgr8, I'd like to take you up on your offer and get the Podium (Move) space. I've always regretted not getting all the Move Outfits when I had the chance. I'll send you a friend request. Hopefully the server problems will be fixed by Monday.

Since we're talking about spaces, can anyone help me out with Loco Island? I need to talk to the Mui Mui King on someone else's island to get the reward. In exchange I can offer my own Loco Island reward. I also have the Party at Jess's Apartment space (for the Xi Collectible #3 reward) and all of the mansion spaces/rewards.

If you can't help me out but want any of those rewards contact me anyway, I'm happy to help. Just send me a friend request with CAG somewhere in the subject line.

Looks like the Ratchet and Clank, ModNation Racers, and Gamer's Lounge will be retired on 5/2/12. See link: http://community.us.playstation.com/message/37650834

From Joystick_Warrior:
Hey there Home Community!

We are retiring a few more spaces with next week's update on 5/2/2012. These spaces include. Ratchet and Clank Time Travellers, ModNation Racers, and the Gamer's Lounge. We are removing these spaces because the technology used to maintain these spaces has become outdated and we want to be able to focus our efforts and resources towards making new bigger and better spaces. Any personal spaces or rewards earned or purchased from these spaces will not be affected with the space removal. Go enjoy these spaces while they are still here! Thanks everyone for your continued support.

Its unclear if the personnel spaces/furniture etc. will be taken down as well.

Looks like Sodium 2 Double Xp weekend is live... (now got 1100 Xp in a race...)
For those who want to get to level 40 fast...

Some of you may have seen friends at the Peakvox Ninja space, it "may" not be around after this coming week maintenance, so follow a friend and then save to favs.

You get a free ninja costume upon playing, also a camera that works in the space, at lvl 6 you get a sword. Max lvl is 10 in it's current Beta stage.
